    1. Where the main .exe is(probably called fallout3.exe). Ussually the main folder or binaries.

  2. Would a high definition texture pack break this? Having some trouble getting this working despite following all the usual steps. Put the dll and ShaderOverride in the main folder (plus tried the data) folder but skybox still at wrong depth. Thanks for all the hard work

    1. Patches sometimes break it because of it changes the CRC (ID) of each shader. d39d.dll + shaderoverride should be in same folder as .exe.

If it you are sure its in right folder. You can manually fix it. Delete your d3d9.dll.

Follow this guide. *Up till part about removing effect*
Find shader for skybox. Then go into your shaderoverride/vertexshaders folder. Find the one thats marked skybox then paste that information in the skybox you found.

    2. It might seem complex at first but its not. If you are able to fix it. Please let me know and share the file so I can put up a different version for users using a similiar patch/high res. texture pack. Unfortunately I dont have fallout anymore. I used to give games away when done with them. *shrug*

    3. HI thanks a lot for the help. Looked a little daunting at first but gave it a try and was able to isolate skybox (or at least the clouds). Then copied everything from 631420C4.txt to new file B29124B1.txt in vertex shader.

Looks better now clouds look further away (I think). This is in combination with http://www.gamershell.com/download_36866.shtml high resolution pack.

Many thanks again for prompt reply and patient instructions. Although this was first time doing it I am now at least confident removing some of my own effects.

If this does not work for everyone please feel free to call me an idiot; there is a good chance I am completely wrong!

    4. PSh. Dont worry about it, if it looks better for you thats all that matters and if it doesnt work for them they can follow instructions and try it themselves.
Most people dont even bother and ask me to do it.

    5. Ugh I always remember to say stuff afterwards.

I have to throw in my "sales pitch" lol.
If you ever run into a game that needs something removed(shadows/crosshairs/whatever) and you do it yourself contact me either via putting a reply on any post on the blog or contact eqzitara @ nvidiaforums(whenever it comes back up).
Not forcing/pressureing you or anything. Just if you ever happen to do it for yourself.

Anywho that's it. Hope you enjoy fallout.

  3. So far so good. I live in fear everyday that people will stop caring about 3D gaming and 3D vision will disappear. Your site here gives me some hope that for the near future that is not true. I truly believe a lot of people aren't even aware of the 3D gaming scene for PC.

Did you want me to send the extra texture file I did or is it ok in my comment (I.e. referring to the existing patch)?

I did want to ask somewhere as well if there is a local version of the Darksiders WIP patch anywhere. The link from the game list goes to the Nvidia forums that have been down for month now.

Thanks again for help. Now I am comfortable I will try to get into fixing a few things myself.

  4. I put the shaders fix in my main fallout 3 directory, but is this supposed to fix the HUD, cross hairs, and names? The helix fix worked great for skyrim setting everything back a little bit to fix the double images but this fix doesnt seem to be doing the same thing to fallout 3. It is supposed too? Thanks

    3. Nah its cool. Ty for compliment. Helix is definetly the one responsible, I do my best.

Out of curiousity. Have you tried fallout new vegas? I just bought it and am gonna play after borderlands 2. Its rated lower then fallout 3 but this patch seems to do same thing.

    4. Err.. both patches seem to do the same thing.

  6. Great work you are doing here. I have a question though. Is it possible to make the pipboy not popout so much. I find it is best play this game withe the converge turned up quit a bit from the default setting. The only problem with this is it makes the pipboy unuseable.

  7. The in-game crosshair is too close to my face, even when I turn convergence all the way down. Is there any way to put the in-game crosshair further back? The Nvidia Lasersight crosshair is a little bit better in that regard (though I would like it further back still), but it doesn't turn red while aiming at an enemy like the in-game crosshair does.

    ReplyDelete

    1. You have to use the nvidia crosshair and just deal with it not having the full functionality of the regular in-game crosshair. The normal crosshair is no good because it's at screen depth and therefore it's not accurate, so you'll miss all the time. Turn it off in-game and turn on the nvidia one.

  8. Just buy it; I can't honestly offer you any more appropriate advice regarding this game. Far too rarely in my video gaming 'career' have I come across a game which exhibits the perfection that you will find in this title. This game literally has nearly everything a person could want in a piece of entertainment media, but we'll get to that in a moment.

In Fallout 3, you are 'the vault dweller' - a character of your making who will have the race, sex, and appearance of your choice. The year is 2277, two hundred years after a nuclear war between the United States and China has ravaged the entire world. A few families managed to buy their way into underground fallout shelters, or vaults. Your character is a descendant of these fortunate few.

  9. Thanks to all involved, as always! Another game that looks great in 3d Vision

For anyone having problems with water in 3d vision, I turned refractions and reflections off and it works fine for me.

To do so, change these lines from 1 to 0 in your falloutprefs.ini and fallout.ini in your documents/My Games/Fallout 3 folder.

    bUseWaterReflections=0
    bUseWaterRefractions=0

  11. Having an issue that after pressing F4 my nvidia crosshair goes to screendepth and then after ages of larking about to get it to go back to how it should be it now seems to vibrate as if there are 2 crosshairs that don't quite line up

Any ideas on how to fix this?

  12. Is this also working for Fallout 4?

    1. No, different game engines. Skyrim is closer to Fallout 4, but it still requires a specific fix. Look to the NVidia forums for current status, it's being worked out.

  13. Hi!
Do you know if it's possible to use Reshade with this fix?
I had Reshade working fine with the game in 2D (I only was forced to launch the game from the .exe directly cos the launcher crashed all the time with Reshade installed)
I put the line ProxyLib = A:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\d3d9enb.dll in the dx9sttings.ini but when i try to launch the game nothing happen.
But i can see a file named d3d9enb.log with this

  14. Hi!
I wrote a post yesterday but it disappear. :( ???

Is it possible to use reshade with the fix?

I tried Reshade alone and the fix alone and they worked fine.
But if i try to use them at the same time the game don't start.
i think i do thing right like named the d3d9.dll of reshade d3d9enb.dll and write ProxyLib = A:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\d3d9enb.dll in the dxsettings.ini file.
    Do you have a solution?

    1. That should work if its on A:\ drive. Thats a bit unusual for a drive.

    2. Should also be written directly under
      [General]

    4. I had a similar problem with the fix for Alien Isolation but it was the last version of 3DMigoto which was incompatible with reshade.
Problem was solved by using the previous version of 3DMigoto.
Oh and i don't use any mod and tried different setting in the launcher's options (HDR,Bloom,None,etc..)
