Fixed shaders.

How to install:
Place d3d9.dll, DX9Settings.ini and "ShaderOverride" folder to the game directory ("\Steam\steamapps\common\darkness ii" where "DarknessII.exe" located).

    1. Not too many people gave this gave this game a chance. If you have free time, would love to see screenshots on 3dvisionlive. If not, thats cool.

    1. I cant, was never added to ftp. I think it only fixes the skybox tbh.

    2. err.. not skybox. I confused games. Enemy Icons/hud
I dont think it works tbh, the person who did it didnt know that those shaders are different. I think I need to remove it from list anyways. I dont get to test a lot of what people send in.

The game is good without fix though, Im pretty sure its rated excellent. So I wouldnt worry about it.

  7. Shadows seem a bit odd to me. In the intro, the guy you follow...his shadow looks like a rectangle and it disappears frequently. Any way I can be sure I installed it correctly? Also, how do you change convergence? I have it unlocked in the nvidia 3D settings.

Thanks for all your hard work!

    1. I am hoping you are not guy from above but anywho...
Its one of those games that doesnt have much popularity so unless helix responds its hard to know.

Convergence locked is one of those things I hear from time to time from people in games that normally work for everyone else. I say to install a new different driver and it more often then not works. Otherwise hold convergence for up to 30 seconds. Sometimes it takes an extreme long amount of time.

If using retail version make sure its 1.1 updated. I know for a fact 1.0 doesnt work because he had to make a new patch going from 1.0->1.1 . My money on thats the issue since he cites he had to fix shadows for 1.1.

    2. lol. No, I am not. I just installed The Darkness 2 today via steam, so it should be updated. Do I have to install the previous fix, as well? I only installed the ones on this page.

I'll try the trick you mentioned re: convergence. thanks.

    3. It "should" be good to go.

DELETE you d3d9.dll, shaderoverride folder, dx9settings.ini
Make sure its not some wierd bug that happens regardless of fix installed.

      Install these files
      https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DLLS/Release.zip
      https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/darkness_ii.3dvis.zip

If that doesn't work I have only one last idea, can either download driver from april/earlier or follow this guide. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/12/farcry-3-shadowslighting-fix-for-sli_24.html
Instead of farcry3 use darkness 2. Instead of aion use mass effect 2[Its a standard profile].
I kind of doubt it but it does seem a profile was added after the patch according to driver notes. If that doesnt work I am out of ideas besides saying just turn shadows off.

    4. Btw, I just wanted to mention def. reinstall a fresh install of a new driver. Im not sure what it is but in last three days I had a complaint about Borderlands 2 shadows not working, Mirror's edge rendering 2D, etc. Nvidia screwed up drivers in a patch and a fresh install is probably needed. Cant say if thats your issue but its what I am telling everyone.

  8. Thanks for your help. TBH, it isn't bad outside of cutscenes. Convergence trick didn't work for me, but I'll have to do some more searching to see if I can find a fix.

The driver version I have isn't that new, so I may try updating it and see what happens.
