Transformers Fall of Cybertron[Update 06/27]

Update
Shadows fixed/Hud changes

Fixed/Removed:
- All Ghosthing fixed (smoke, fog, etc.)
- Icons Highlight 2D fixed
- Lensflares removed
- HUD Fixed
- DOF/Motion Blur removed (Thanks to eqzitara to removed those effects, really ugly and bad in this game)

Remaining issues:
- i supose minor issues, if you found some please post a comment and picture.

Optional:
Press U to cycle from [2] different depth/convergence settings.

Instructions:
- Use the Masseffect 3 profile with Nvidia inspector (Download Tutorial) or rename .exe to "masseffect3.exe" (MUST)
 - Extract the content of the .zip where .exe is located.
- Press F6 to suggested convergence value, you can change that value deleting the preset 1 content in .ini file.

Finish the game with none issues, the game is great btw (if you like Transformers of course).

Note: I'm tested and playing the game with the 304.79 Beta driver. 306.02 Beta driver may not work properly because nvidia update/change the masseffect3 profile.

Note 2: With the 306.23 and 306.97 or later drivers use the "Prototype 2" profile (prototype2.exe)

  1. Been taking it easy this week and really want to play some games. Now I got transformers/mass effect 3 dlc/ Darksiders 2. Really looking forward to playing this game. I wasnt too excited about it at first. But I heard great things and commericals were amazing. Thanks!

Yea, I dont care if anyone likes DOF/motion blur. This game was atrocious. It had twice as much as mass effect 3 and it "trails". 2D users were complaining about it on some threads as well lol.

  2. As a matter of fact I DO like transformers, but I would not have bought the game if it was not for the patch being a graphics oriented action game and all.

  3. Damn, doesn't work with steam after changing name of exe file! Is there any work around?

    1. Download Nvidia Inspector.
      Open it.
      Click Wrench icon.
      Click scroll box.
      Find Mass Effect 3.
      Click + button.
      Find transformers (steam/steamapps/transformers blah blah/)
      Save.

If it says this application is use find it in scroll box.
      Click - button.
      Remove the .exe.
      Save. Follow above steps.

  4. Thanx for the fix!

I stopped playing at level 2 because the 3D was bad...time to get back into it tonight!

  5. i put a note....because the 306.02 Beta driver change/update the masseffect3 profile...so the patch may not work properly.

  6. Thanks for the fix !!! Will you update the fix for the 306.02 Beta driver please ?

    1. Im not sure we can, we need to try U.E.3 .exe renames till/if we find a match. We don't have access to nvidia's profiling.(Which is how they broke amalur/masseffect 3 in first place).

Games not too long. Why not just downgrade driver for playthrough?

      Delete
    2. Ok, i downgraded to 304.79 , but still got the same problems, the hud and the crosshair are messed up. Wish there were an option to turn them both off.

    3. Energy/shield bars and Gun/Ammo bar is original in 3D (devs put them 3D)....sadly i can't make them 2D because they share the same VS that the rest of the HUD (character icons, names plates, objective icons, others)

I suppose is that....if not please upload a screenshot.

I send an email to nvidia to add the ME3 profile (304.79 beta driver) to the original .exe Transformers game. Maybe in the next driver release they add.

  7. Would there be any chance to remove the crosshair and the hud ?

    ReplyDelete
  8. What's the problem with the crosshair??

it's possible, but if i remove the HUD, also remove character icons, names plates, objective icons, keys indicators, others....

    1. I like no crosshairs in shooter, thats the problem ;). Removing it is good for the second run of the game and perfect for screenshots. Please remove it. Thank you !!!

    2. If i disable HUD, main menu, submenu and ingame menu disapear...so it's not possible. Sorry.

      Delete
    3. I can separate them all and fix whats needed probably, I havent looked at hud but it kind of depends. I actually have an option to remove crosshair in hunted, though I didnt like it so I didnt bother using it. Its not my game though, so its up to you.

    4. If you want to see how, I have a file in my hunted shaderoverride/vertexshaders folder. I also use it to remove the bloom lighting in jade empire.

    5. By the way not sure if your doing any unreal engine stuff, I am doing Quantum Conundrum since I dont mind having to update it but it may be a good idea to wait. Not sure if we are gonna be able to do it but helix figured out how to fix shadows entirely.

    1. i update to the 306.23 whql driver and use the protoype.exe profile....works great!, but the texture for crosshair don't work...i think is related to the profile.

  12. thanks, DHR,

    prototype 2 profile works for the current Nvidia drivers;
and 3D vision really "transforms" the game:)

  14. I got weird shadow problems and halo around character problems with 320.49 WHQL driver. i tried with prototype 2 and masseffect 3 but its still the same. Did they changed anything in the 320.49 driver ?
Even if i change convergence the problems still there. Please help...thank you.

    1. Fixed it myself. You have to add the exe in nvidia inspector, just rename it causes the shadow & halo problems. Still one problem left , hud and crosshair, i see it double, wish we can totally remove it.

  15. I am using the 326.19 drivers. Since this isn't a quick fix, which profile in general works better for most of you, mass effect 3 or prototype 2. I am going to try both and see. Means a couple of driver installs to restablish the original profiles but that's fine.

    1. Prototype 2.

Mass effect 3 used to be a different profile but isnt anymore. Dont use that profile.

  17. question, why is a profile that is "not recommended" in mass effect 3 being used when the original Transformers profile is rated "fair"?

    ReplyDelete
  18. the prototype 2 profile also is a "not recommended" profile. Why is it suggested that we use "not recommended" profiles for a game that is rated "fair" by Nvidia. I thought this was a modding place to improve the game in ways Nvidia couldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sorry about dissing helix mod. The mass effect 3 profile works with 326.19 drivers. Here's another question, why does nvidia put in "not recommended" profiles in the 1st place. They work with other games as you guys have found out but if Nvidia finds the game to be unplayable for that particular game, why make a 3d profile at all? That's like saying here's your halloween candy but you can't eat it because it's made out of plastic and will make you sick and/or kill you.

    1. Nvidia rates games pretty much randomly. No joke. They are terrible. The geforce page for 3d vision is pretty much a strong example of that, it lists games that are terrible in 3d vision as supported [borderlands 2 I had to mod, and they rate it not recommended]
      Go here http://www.3dsolutiongaming.com/ OR
      http://www.ramblingsofa3dgamer.blogspot.com/
      For accurate ratings.

This is how nvidia profiles work. They have 3 actual profiles. A / B / C.
They check which one works "best" for the game. Often it still looks terrible but thats the best they get out of it.
Sometimes when we fix games we don't use the profile attached to the game like this game has profile A but we want profile C.

Well listing a game as not recommended is something I agree with, some people will only buy a game if it has 3D vision support. So it will save us time/money. The problem is when they rate something good when it should be not recommended.

    2. Basically when we say to rename a game for a different profile it doesn't mean anything. We just want to use the different compatibility version for our fix. Like its sometimes easier to fix one profile then another. Like I have some games that are practically 3d vision ready where I use not recommended profile.

  20. Anyone know if this fix & profile swap can be used to fix any (assumed) problems in the prequel War for Cybertron? Installing now, but got a boatload of other games to try before I get to this one, so hopefully someone may respond before then, otherwise if I see any issues I'll give it a go, see if it works, and report back.

    1. Possibly.

Activision modified UE3 for some weird reason, [no idea why] and since UE3 was so many shaders to fix it was too much of a pain to deal with those games since they were unique. They later reverted to just normal UE3.

Prototype/aion profile will only work on a select few UE3

      Delete
    2. Keep in mind UE3 doesnt mean much. Modding them is nice because we know its compatible with helix debugger but there are seriously like 10 different versions. Everything is different for each.

      Delete
    3. Hmmmm. Well, here's to hoping the dev's were lazy and used the exact same engine and coding, shaders, etc ;). About halfway through my new games list (went crazy with the Steam summer sale. Too many great deals to pass up), so will report back hopefully soon.

    5. Your 100% positive? No offense but first impressions often change.
Cause Ill look at it probably if it is.

    6. Yeah, now I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes on WfC. I removed the .dll file to disable it and try to see if I could see a huge difference going back, and the only things that I did notice was a single lens flare and 2D icon that I didn't ever see when I had the fix in place. Also, while riding up in an elevator, my character seemed to be a bit blurry without the fix, which I never noticed before, so I wondered if that was DoF in effect. This change did, however, coincide with me starting the Autobots campaign, and I had played with the fix for the entire Decepticons campaign, so that could account for some things (like the 2D icons I saw was to revive falling NPC's which is possible I never saw for the Decep' campaign because they are evil bastards that don't revive each other, lol).

I think what actually made a noticeable difference was getting a good convergence & depth setting. I'm used to running high depth in most of my games, but this is definitely one game where it's much better to run at a lower depth and higher convergence since the targeting reticle/HUD is at depth (as are many of the visual effects), and raising the convergence pushes it forward ahead of your character for better aiming, and seems to make some of the other lighting/shadows look more in place.

Anyways, I still think that the fix does make some minor changes, but it's not quite as important as good D/C settings.

    7. You might be right,

Looks like the lensflares shader + motion blur are the same in both games. Deadpool/transformers.
Deadpool's will fix the lensflares fyi. I didn't try to fix it with this game because I wasnt actively going to test it [and not my patch].

    8. Just reporting that using Nvidia Inspector to change the profile to Mass Effect 3 with Nvidia 326.80 drivers and then adding the fix does not make a happy Transformer :-(

Convergence can only be shifted down, the graphics are completely flat and the shadows are seriously messed up.

      ARGH !

  21. Been looking to play this, but I think there's a problem with my Mass Effect 3 profile... the shadows are all screwed :(

  22. Hi sir, thanks for all your hard work!

Can I request seeds for your transformers fall of cybertron mod (unlock all custom parts / dlc) coalesced.ini file?

Or perhaps have a download link available. I've been trying to get the file for some time now and so far no luck.

More power to you and your mods sir! Thank you in advance

  23. I get a "tfoc.exe has stopped working" crash right after starting the game. Black screen and then the error. When I delete the fix the game will start and I can play. I used the Prototype 2 profile. Any hints? :(
