    2. Ignore this I got it working. I re-installed the game and started from scratch and it seems ok now. I did however install it to the same path as you were using just in case so not sure if this was a factor or not.

  5. just ran this on the game today and the game looks great in 3D. Im playing at max depth with high convergence (you have to turn shadows off) everything looks perfect except for some instances where there is fog or a bridge over water. Thank you mike_ar69 for putting this fix together.

  6. Hi !
Does it still work for last version (1.0.53) of the game ? Because it doesn't for me, but I wonder it could be because of a bug due to my firewall : its bloking pop up activated half a second on the last step (ShaderReplaceDOS.vbs), and I had no time to see if it blocked something or not... Even if I had the message telling the installation of your patch was successfull.
Is there a way to restart the last step (it tells me that the files already exist if I try to relaunch ShaderReplaceDOS.vbs) ? Or to reinstalling it from 1st step, without having to reinstall the whole game ?
Thanks for your work, and forgive my english^^

    1. Hi, the message being blocked is just to say the installation completed so that's not a problem. To do the install again you need to delete the ShaderOverride folder first (I need to update the instructions). HOWEVER, the fix posted here is currently out of date, and I am working on an updated fix for the full game, now that it is released. So the current fix does not work properly anyway (some things are fixed, but lots of things are not). So you should wait for a week or two until I complete the updated fix.

    2. Ok, so I assume the install was good then :) I'll wait as long as needed for the new fix, no problem, thanks :)

  8. Hi, i want to know if its always possible to do a new version of this fix for the retail version of this game (steam), you guyz doin like always a good job. We need you !! Big thx from Quebec, Canada

  9. Sadly although fix seems to install, 2d shadows remain and in character mode when choosing new game the shaders are all messed up, not even convergence setting seems to help, as the bright portion of say " faces" is shifting with every degree for each eye contradirectional..

    1. The game fix posted was for the initial BETA back in January. The game has changed a lot since then and I have not updated the fix yet.

  10. thanks for the fix and great work so far, the remaining issue todate (game version 1.132) are:
    1. sunny spots in houses (upper, lower level) where depth and convergence is out of line (mayor's house, library in the beginning of the game)
    2. water spots nearby steps (or bridges) (quaruple images? or too wide apart stereoview?)
-- shadows have to be turned off altogether
Apart from these the game is fine also in this version

  11. This game is a real HIDDEN GEM today... So deep and nicely done! To bad no one wants to make a 3d for patch it(((

  13. I have a problem with the mouse. The mouse i see via 3D and the point in the game is not the same. Its hard to target things, cant play in 3D because of this.

    1. Sorry if it is too late for a reply, I just came across your issue, I had a similar issue with Starcraft 2 and the solution is to use Ctrl+F5 and Ctrl+F6 to decrease or increase the convergence to your liking and then save by pressing Ctrl+F7. You can get the cursor and related text to line up with the background this way. Be sure to check "enable advanced settings in game" by opening the Nvidia Control Panel > Set up steroscopic 3D > Set keyboard shorcuts.

    4. Is it possible that i dont work because i have the wrong driver? (347.09)

      Delete
    5. Unknown. But possible. We know that 347.09 causes problems in several DX11 games, but haven't heard of DX9 game showing this sort of thing. Worth a try to roll back to known better 344.65. Go even further back if your hardware allows it. Older drivers are substantially better for 3D.

    6. Didn't work,is there another way to fix this problem?
      thanks for the answer :)

    7. I have the same problem.. nothing works, this game would be awsome in 3d!

  17. Hi There,
Did this stop working with the new patch? Shadow / light issues are all messed up for me. The character rolling screen looks nothing like in your image. Am I doing something wrong? (not sure what, the instructions seem simple enough). Thanks for doing all this excellent work !!

    2. Hello Mike, can you tell me on which driver you are?
      By advance thanks!

      Delete
    3. Hi yeah - I am on the latest 347.52 driver, and the game runs fine for me. I've not had issues (as far as I remember) with different drivers for this game, but I will be honest and say that I don't really play it much, so there may be issues I don't know about.

    4. Ok, that's strange (347 too).
I tried, with or without sli (770), try disabling some effect in menu, but there are still lighting issues with the flames halos and some reflexions issues. For exemple in End of time location.
      Try disabling steam overlay too.
Other games seems ok (tested dreamfall chapters and it seems still ok).

  18. I am having an odd issue. I have the steam retail version of the game. The 3d fix works great in comparison to without the patch, but for some reason it causes the water and various other animations to stop moving. I can occasionally rotate the screen a bit and it occasionally starts again but it just locks up again soon after. It is difficult to ignore this issue as it detracts from the ambience - its tough to play when i can hear the waves splashing but the water remains frozen. I have experi ented and i am certain the source of thhe stopped animations is the helix mod fix. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Please let me know.
    Thanks

    1. Thanks for the feedback - I just checked and I am seeing the same effect. This never used to happen, so must be due to a game update. I agree it looks crap. I will try and have a look at it in the next week or so, but I have not looked at this fix for quite a long time so it might take some digging.

  20. Hi Mikear69!
I know that you have alot of things to do but it would be really wsome if you can fix the 3d in this game again. I hope it is not too much of work.
    greetings!

  21. Hello, Mike, is there any chance u fix 2d HUD ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hi everyone, there was an enhanced edition of divinity original sin released today. Has anyone had a chance to test the EE with 3d vision? The helixmod fix stopped working for the original after an update/patch a few months back, and mikear69 confirmed above that he too was having issues. Fingers crossed the issues were adressed by the developer.
On a side note, has anyone tested the directors cut of Wasteland 2 with 3d vision? Vanilla did not work, which was a shame because it would be fantastic in 3d.

    1. I tried the enhanced edition yesterday, but it didn't work, with or without this fix, with 3d vision. The 2d stuff like the menus and hud seem to render correctly, but behind it was just a solid color. E.g when you first load it up I can change the settings and start a game, but I just get a blue background, rather than the trees and rivers and whatnot.

I wonder if this is as they added a load of dx11 stuff to the enhanced edition, whereas I believe the original was just dx9.

This was on windows 8.1 and windows 10; I don't have access to 7

    2. See if you can figure out how to launch in dx9. DX11 is mostly just marketing, visually it's nearly impossible to tell the difference on most games. If you can get it to run in dx9, the fix will likely still work.

    3. Hi,

anybody figured this out? I have the same question like the other Anonymous three weeks ago: how to make the wonderful fix work for the enhanced edition? Hope someone will find the time to either adopt the fix, or find out how to start the game with DX9 ;)

Unfortunately, -DX9, -D3D9 or other switches I tried did not work.

      Delete
  23. Pretty certain that it's sadly impossible with this game to force dx9. dx11 is in fact a minimum requirement.
Whats worse is if I cry to run it in 3dvision on in the ncp the game doesnt even render correctly even if you toggle it off.
