Shadow Warrior [2013]

Video Link
This is a small tweak that I made a few months ago but never posted officially. I am only posting it because this game is not getting the appreciation it deserves. I kept expecting people to talk about it. Anywho, its an amazing/beautiful game and the developers went out of their way to implement 3D vision support. Its easily one of the best 3D FPS games. They also developed Hard Reset which also has support. Anywho.. check it out.

This file HERE will disable the 2D lensflare/dirty screen effect that cuts of. Extract to games main directory.

  2. I'm glad that I've waited to play this game. With this fix it will be glorious in 3D. Thanks a lot for this and for all the other fixes. As "Raphael Chagas Sid Vicious" said I'd like to donate as well.

  3. Really appreciate what you are doing. I donated a while ago to help with server costs. Will gladly do it whenever the need arises.

  4. I too recently donated towards server costs...Thanks again, and thanks for the recommendation on Shadow Warrior, didn't know this game worked in 3D Vision - just by good luck it was on a flash sale on Humble Bundle today, so picked it up for less than 5 squid.

  7. Is this game runnable at 720p through hdmi in 3dvision? Hard reset wasn't, or at least I couldn't get it to work, seemed like it wanted "true" 120hz or something... Wondering maybe same issue due to same dev?

  8. I just finished playing the game with your 3d fix, but for some reason when it's enabled, I can't move the during game play. I can move it in the pause screen, but not click anything. Contrarily, during game play, I can click the mouse buttons and it will swing the sword, etc, but it won't move the head (won't "look around"). Only if I disable the mod do the controls go back to normal. I haven't adjusted any of the controls from default since installing the game. Any ideas?

      Try that dll.

    2. Awesome, that worked perfectly. Weird how it just needed a dll switch, yet the dozens of games I've used helix mods on before never had this problem. Anyway, it works now, thanks a ton.

  12. Super late to this, but it seems 3d vision support was removed in a patch and no longer exists :(

People say you can choose XP mode?http://steamcommunity.com/app/233130/discussions/search/?q=xp&gidforum=846963165514970864&include_deleted=1

It might be an option in game or try right clicking the .exe and set to windows xp in properties.

    1. This fix is not for the DX11 version, only DX9 original version.

There isn't much point in doing the DX11 version, web reviews suggest it doesn't look any different. The remastered versions are just to bring them up to date for consoles, and doesn't actually provide any value for PC, so it doesn't make sense to put in hundreds of hours to fix the DX11 version, when we already have a working version.

Better performance reportedly. If a ShaderHacker wanted to make a new fix, they are of course always welcome to spend their time how they like.

    2. Just tested this again, and the original version is working correctly and runs well. On Win10, you need to run as Admin to enable the 3D Vision setting, but don't need compatibility settings. Driver 398.82.

  14. This may not be the right place to ask...but is there a 3D fix for Shadow Warriors 2? The game looks ok in Compatibility Mode, but is somewhat broken in Full 3D. Using 3D Fix Manager, there is an "install 3D wrapper" option - however there still seems to be rendering issues.

    1. No, the SW1 actually had built in 3D Vision, made by the developers. Very good implementation. This fix only removes the lame lensflare effect that detracts from the game play. Not strictly necessary.

SW2 will be a brand new code base, nothing translates across. Devs did not implement 3D. Some ShaderHacker will need to have the enthusiasm to spend time fixing it. It's not a common engine like UE4, so it will require some work. DX11 can use 3Dmigoto.

  15. P.S. Just reading up on this thread about Bo3B's comments on SW1 - maybe I need to run SW2 in DX9...?

  16. This fix kills the single lens-flare effect. It doesn't work quite right with Win10, seems to block launching.

A simpler approach is to use the built in console:

Open up the console (ctrl+alt+tilde) and enter:
    r_draw_lens_flares 0
