Watch Dogs - DX11 3DMigoto 3D Vision Fix

3DMigoto DX11 3D Vision Fix by mike_ar69, bo3b and DHR

Fixed
1. Shadows
2. Lights
3. Fog haloing
4. Smoke haloing
5. Water haloing
6. Fore haloing
7. Water reflections
8. Car/glass reflections
9. HUD/crosshair put at depth
10. Helicopter Spotlights

Disabled
1. Some decals (though not all), mostly on roads and pavements
2. Bloom
3. Sun glare
4. Blue wayline on mini-map

Images
Some example images:

Known Issues
1. Some areas are too dark at night between specific times, as certain shaders are active.
2. There are issues with water rendering (haloing) on the main river in particular, that occur at certain times of day when particular shaders are turned on and off.  We know we have not tracked all these down.
3. MHBAO does not work, must use Off, or HBAO+ Pretty sure this works now.
4. We are pretty sure there will be lots of little effects we missed, there are so many shaders it's not been possible to catch them all (e.g. some remaining smoke halos etc)

Recent drivers can introduce problems getting 3D to activate at all. This happens with or without the fix.  You want to disable the Compatibility Mode by enabling the Advanced in-game settings in the 3D control panel, then ctrl-alt-f11 in game.  Even with this, it doesn't always engage true-3D properly, and will have one-eye stuck, or only small elements of the scene in 3D. Try relaunching.

On any driver above 320.49, SLI is broken on this game, and causes stuttering when driving.  Use 320.49 for the optimal experience.  Later drivers and profiles actually make things worse.

Game Settings
1. Aside from MHBAO all other settings seem to work, though you will suffer performance wise if you set your sights too high.
2. We do recommend though "Max Detail" and "Max shaders"

HUD Depth Setting
You can adjust the overall HUD depth using settings in the d3dx.ini file:

[Constants]
x=0.8 <-- Change this one e.g. 0.4 is less depth, -0.2 will pop out the screen etc
y=0.8
z=1.2
w=2.0

Installation
1. Run the game once to make sure it's installed, resolution and refresh are like you want.
Make sure 3D kicks in.
2. If you are running recent drivers, and Compatibility Mode is kicking in, do Ctrl-Alt-F11 to disable it.
3. Get the fix as a zip file from here:  Latest_Version
And unzip all of the files and ShaderFixes folder into the Watch Dogs exe folder.
e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Watch_Dogs\bin"
4. With all that installed, run Watch Dogs
You should be able to see everything in 3D, and be able to change depth and convergence.
First launch will be slow, like a minute, as it caches shaders.

Update 9/25/14: now at 0.90 version, fixes for another 5 glitches.
Last update 9/28/14: now at 0.91 version fixes another 10 glitches.   old_version

  2. I followed the instructions to a 'T', and on my system it appears nothing has changed (haloing, ghosting, etc). Oh well, my system must be screwed. Thank you for the hard work though!

    1. Hi - this sounds odd. What nvidia driver version do you have? Did you try ctrl-alt-f11 to toggle compatibility mode? Are you SLI?

      Delete
    2. Hey there... I have the latest drivers (340.52). I did try the ctrl-alt-f11 thing, and it doesn't seem to do anything. And no... I'm not SLI. I just have a single 780 SC.

      Delete
    3. I'll try a clean install myself to make sure the packaged files are correct.

    4. Also, what OS are you on? I don't think we tried anything except Win7 x64.

    5. I think you guys are jumping to conclusions.

Install driver 332.21 and see if that changes anything.

    6. Hey there... I'm on 8.1 x64. This game has always been screwed up on this machine so I most likely wouldn't drop back to an older vid driver, since none of the other 70+ games that I play have any difficulties. Thank you very much for attempting to help though... excellent work on this game!

    7. I did a clean install and applied the fix (in SLI actually) and it all works. Latest driver 340.52, Win 7. Are you running from Steam or UPlay? You could always try uninstalling the game and re-installing (or with Steam, verifying the game cache). Have you disabled overlays? (Having said that it worked for me with both Steam and Uplay overlays running...)

      Delete
    8. Wow mike... you are good! I have uninstalled, and am downloading it as I write this. I'm playing the game in UPlay, and I did try shutting off all overlays as well. I'll re-install all and attempt again. I'll let you know of the results.

    9. Ok, uninstalled both Watch Dogs AND Uplay. Downloaded and installed both on another drive on my system, set it all up per the installation directions above, and still the ghosting is there (even lettering no the screen is sorta screwy looking). Like I said before, Watch Dogs is the only game that I ever had any issues with. I have always wondered if it had anything to do with the fact that this was a promotional copy that I got when I purchased my 780. The game doesn't intrigue me enough to purchase a copy through Steam, though.

Once again, thank you very much for your assistance. Judging by the positive comments from everyone else, I would say that it is well received!

    12. Right now I'm pushing an image up of the computer having issues (I've also been plagued by some BSOD issues attributed to the emitter hub (haven't been able to solve those issues yet, either). I'm going to try out a copy of Win7 x64 to see if this helps.

Once again, thank you for the help. It (and all that you've done with the fixes to Watch_Dogs) is greatly appreciated! Long live Community engineering!

    13. No difference on voucher copy from new video card, that's the same version I'm running.

As eqzitara notes, you are very likely stuck in fake 3D mode. Run without the 3Dmigoto installed first, disable it first so you see the automatic mode with broken effects first.

Please let us know if your Win7 test works, I'm still not positive my crazy workaround works on Win8.1, and might cause problems there.

      Delete
    14. @solomyn. I think eqzitara is correct. To enable ctrl-alt-f11 you need to enable the advanced keyboard shortcuts for stereoscopic viewing in nvidia control panel. That's the last thing I can think of...

    15. HOLY CRAP THIS GAME LOOKS GOOD!

I rebuilt the machine with a fresh copy of Win7 x64. I think the copy of Win8 x64 that I had was giving me a lot more trouble than I realized. I had tried to disable the fake 3d using the ctrl-alt-f11 method (including enableing eh advanced keyboard options in the control panel). It never worked. Also, with the stuttering I was getting in this game, I had given up...

It took your mods to make this game interesting to me again...

With the new copy of Windows, I don't have ANY stuttering in the game (even with most of the settings on ultra), and the disabling of the fake 3D works! AND THE 3D LOOKS KICK @$$! You guys are incredible! Good work, and thank you for helping me through this!!

    16. Great news! It's worth persevering for isn't it ;-)

And yeah Win 8.1 is a real pain at the moment for games. Microsoft will probably sort it out eventually, but right now they screwed something up. Really glad you got it going :-)

      Delete
    17. It certainly is worth it! However, I'm finding that Windows 7 isn't without it's own problems. Games work fine, but being able to view online content (like the 3d images on this forum) makes my monitors go crazy, ultimately going to black (I have to Team view into the machine to kill the browser). I've been messing with the Aero wallpapers, and for some weird reason, that effects it.

Anyway, congratulations! This is awesome work!

    18. Put on aero wallpaper.
Set 3d vision to enable "always"

    19. Thanks Eqzitara...that worked beautifully! Sorry for steering this into a support thread. That wasn't my intention.

Beautiful work on Watch Dogs. For the first time since I've owned this game, I'm excited to go and play it!!

    20. I can verify that the compatibility mode shortcut does not work with 344.16 drivers on Win 8.1. Hopefully this will be fixed on the next driver update, but Im not holding my breath.

      Delete
    21. Id like to rescind my last post. Compatibility mode CAN be turned on and off on 8.1. Unfortunately this does nothing to fix the issues I'm having with getting Watch Dogs to work in 3d. Anyone else trying to play this game in 3d on a GTX 980? So far Ive had no luck. I cant tell if its the newest drivers or not since I cant roll back beyond 344.11. I tried installing Win 7 but that didnt work either. Every Helix Mod I used on my 580 worked flawlessly, but now I'm back to 2d gaming until I figure this out.

      Delete
    22. Delete the profile for WatchDogs. The CM stuff is interfering with regular 3D in the latest drivers. The WatchDogs profile is useless anyway. Since you are stuck on 344.16 and Win7 didn't work either, this is the most likely answer.

  3. Thanks so much, Nvidia and UBIFAIL should be ashamed of themselves - guarantee they will be using this fix. Excellent job to all! Clearly we cant have any faith in developers or the folks that provide drivers!

    C:\Users\"Your Name"\Documents\My Games\Watch_Dogs\
open GamerProfile.xml with a text editor,
    then set UseReticle="0"

You can now popup the HUD:
Open d3dx.ini from the 3D patch with a test editor and set :

    3. No, that's OK. Text files only converted to the .bin when they are actually used, so you may not have yet visited the spot in the game where the rest are used.

In fact, the .bin files are strictly optional, we only have them generated to make launches faster. You can run the fix with just the .txt files and it will work exactly the same.

  15. It really is too bad this game is such a piece of sh***. You guys have done a beautiful job with the 3D work, but the constant CTD, stuttering and overall piss-poor performance of the game makes it too unbearable to enjoy the results of your hard work. I played it for a few days and really did enjoy the improved 3D experience, but it's just too frustrating playing this game.

Oh, and it's so awesome that Ubi has announced a sequel to this mess! Yeah!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In general, I don't have these problems. No CTD and no stuttering as long as I use either 320.49, or disable SLI for other drivers. Performance is OK at 40fps with a single 760 (55fps on SLI w/ 320.49).

The primary thing is that you cannot use Ultra textures, they just don't work on current hardware. (I have 4G cards). Turn that option down to High, and set Level of Detail down one notch to High. Disable Depth of Field if you need more performance.

With this setup, I've played the entire game in 3D.

      Delete
  16. Yeah, I hear ya on the Ultra textures. I have a couple of EVGA 970s in SLI, and from what I'm reading, I can only install two different driver sets for these cards (344.11 and 344.16). It could be that there are unknown issues with the Maxwell cards and current driver offerings. Don't really know.

I do know I can play Crysis 3 on Ultra everything in 3D, and still manage 96 FPS. So I'm certain the hardware can handle it.

I don't know... For some reason, Watch_Dogs has been the bane of my existence.

Your work, however... now that's amazing. You have taken this game to absolute new heights (when it's playing well that is!). Good job on that!

    1. I seem to be having some of the same issues. Got my 980 in last week and have been struggling to get this game working with it. The game runs great in 2d with everything maxed out, but 3d has been a fickle mistress. CTD, stuttering, and sometimes it will just decide that it doesn't like the 3d anymore and will randomly pop back into 2d.

Its too bad we can't downgrade past 344.11 just to see if the old drivers would work. I haven't checked other games, but for some reason this card/driver doesn't like Skyrim either.

I don't know anything about modding these games to get 3d looking good, so I can only praise the amazing efforts from these fine gentlemen and patiently wait to see if these newer cards/drivers will work down the road. I'm just happy there are all of these awesome people working to get these games working in 3d to begin with.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, that's going to be driver problems. I have those exact same problems when running SLI with recent drivers on SLI 760. Including often not starting in 3D, or only showing like a single shader in 3D with everything else 2D.

Try changing the game profile. WatchDogs has a CM/fake-3d profile, and some other reports have suggested that might be interfering with 3D. The profile doesn't add anything we need for the fix. If you try that, please let us know if that works or does not work..

      Delete
    3. I gave your suggestion a shot and it didn't seem to fix my issues. I ended up doing a fresh install of the game with the latest update and deleted the Watch Dogs profile with Nvidia Inspector.

The weird thing is that it does seem to work perfectly for about the first 5 minutes after doing a fresh install of everything. But after the first CTD, or flicker from 3D to 2D it never works steadily again.

I appreciate the helpful suggestions though.

  17. This game has some VERY screwed performance issues... My setup is i7-950 with 2x970 GTX in SLI. In-game settings was set to "autodetect". When I get out of my room on balcony, I'm having 20 FPS with 3D Vision enabled. No, seriously, THIS IS 970 GTX SLI! 20 FPS? Are you serious?..
Anyone else having such an issues? Any way to fix it? Thanks!
BTW, perfect fix! As always. You guys ROCK! :)

    1. Just tried installing latest patch (no mods) and with lowest possible settings (no AA) game shows 30 FPS. This is a joke...

      Delete
    2. Hi - this game does have performance issues, but yours seem somewhat extreme. I have i5-3570K @ 4.5GHz and SLI 770, and do not see that level of slow down. We did update the 3DMigoto wrapper recently to improve performance in another game (Assassins Creed 4) so I will check with bo3b if that can be pushed out for this game. Watch Dogs has it's own "unique" issues in 3D, and the wrapper had to be customized to work with it so bo3b may need to do a new build. Watch this space, there might be a solution to this :-)

Otherwise I am wondering if this is not part of a series of other complaints that have been logged with the new 900 series cards and driver performance, and in particular SLI performance (which you have). Have a Google around regarding any general issues as well - we attack the problem from different angles.

      Delete
    3. Hi, yes this performance is sort of common with WatchDogs, it's very demanding on VRAM, and stutters badly when it gets even close. First thing to check is be sure to set your Textures to High, not Ultra. No one can realistically run Ultra, not even Titan Black. That makes the biggest difference. After that, set your Level of Detail to High from Ultra. Maybe even Medium.

Let me know if those don't solve it. I don't think the AC4 fix will matter here, but we can always try it if you are still getting slowdowns. In general the game runs slowly, but smoothly. i.e. the minimum frame rate is also the average. The biggest problem is stutter when driving, and that can only be alleviated by lowering VRAM demand.

    4. Thanks for fast reply, guys! I have tried running game with EVERYTHING on as low as possible - no AA, all details to LOW. And even in this case it gives me miserable ~35 FPS... Also, I have tried monitoring CPU/GPU usage. GPUs never goes higher than 45-50%, while all four REAL cores of my i7-950 is used on 60-75%. I have had exactly same performance with my old setup - GTX 670 SLI...

      Delete
    5. BTW, my rig is capable of running Elite: Dangerous maxed out on Rift (DK2) with steady 70 FPS on SINGLE GPU...

      Delete
    6. Yep, this is part of the WatchDogs plus 970 experience. You are stuck on the latest drivers because of the new 970s. The driver that actually works best with WatchDogs is 320.49.

The problem here is likely to be SLI. I don't think you can run SLI on this game with recent drivers. Try to disable SLI and see if you can get better results. I know, lame right? But I found that my performance was far smoother, no stutter with SLI disabled on recent drivers.

      Delete
    7. Tried doing as you said. Forced "Single GPU" in nVidia Control Panel for Watch Dogs. Everything is at HIGH. When I'm out of my root with a parking lot view I'm getting miserable 25 FPS with 3D Vision ON, with GPU utilized at ~50%... Any other treaks I could try? 40 FPS would be OK, but 25 is unplayable... :(

      Delete
    8. I don't know what "Forced Single GPU" mode means. The 'forced' part sounds like something else. The thing to do is to go to "Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX" in the NVidia Control Panel, on the left side. Then choose "Disable SLI" in the main section. That runs the cleanest.

Also be certain that you are running in true-3D mode, the latest drivers are kind of sketchy with 3D here, and always try to do fake-3D mode. Ctrl-Alt-F11 to switch. Use Ctrl-Alt-Ins to see what mode it is in. We need true mode to work properly.

Also, just a note, this performance doesn't have anything to do with 3Dmigoto at all. If you uninstall 3Dmigoto and run in true-3D, you'll get the same performance. So, you can try other things on the net to try get it working better. True-3D runs about half of the frame rate as 2D, like you'd expect as it draws the scene twice, once for each eye.

As a frame of reference, when I run a single GTX 760 with medium settings, 1080p, I get about 50 fps walking, about 30 fps driving, but no stutter.

      Delete
    9. Thanks. I'll try disabling SLI completely. As for 3D mode, yes, I have checked both "fake" and real 3D. And the reason I'm asking my performance questions here, is because your game setup is closest to mine (not to say identical). Internet answers mainly for non-3D Vision gaming. Without 3D game runs bad, but acceptable. 3D Vision however, kills FPS totally. And yes, I know how 3D stereo image is created and what kind of performance drop to expect from 3D Vision - been using it since 2010 :) Anyway, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all suggestions and explanations! I really appreciate it!

      Delete
    10. OK, good. You need to get it working smoothly in 2D first. You need to get 90 fps in 2D first, then 3D will work at the expected 40 or so. As noted, this is not a 3Dmigoto problem, and the only impact of 3D is to halve the frame rate. SLI is broken even in 2D in this game, it will stutter. Outside of that, the other stuff on the internet about tweaking will still help. Good luck.

  18. Great work this. I have to admit i'm not using your program for the the 3d fixes, but rather as a way to remove the white flashing interaction objects that are dotted throughout the game.
    I found on another forum that if a file called "30265556e47ec3f0-ps_replace.txt" containing the following info "Texture2D StereoParams : register(t125); void main( float3 v0 : TEXCOORD0, float4 v1 : SV_Position0, out float4 o0 : SV_Target0) { return; }" that it would remove this.
It does actually and works well.
I realise this is not the intended usage of this tool, but is there a way to prevent your tool from doing any other modification to the game other than the above 'fix'. I am not struggling for performance in anyway nor need anything else tweaking (i notice the d3dx.ini file contains many tweaks aswell that i dont need).
Strange request and use of your tool, but much appreciated anyway !!

    1. Totally great, glad to see you guys getting some extra mileage out of 3Dmigoto. If that is the only shader you have in ShaderFixes, that is the only impact on the game. Everything in the d3dx.ini file is either commented out or disabled, I believe in leaving stuff there for documentation reasons. See my post on guru3d, and let me know if I can help.

  20. First of all thanks for this excellent tool

I'm gonna ask here as well. I tried use SweetFX with this, but dxgi.dll fails when d3d11.dll is in use. I used proxy in both with with no succes. If i use proxy_d3d11= either i use any name or dxgi.dll or nothing it always crashes WD. Using proxy in SweetFX doesn't do anything as long as d3d11.dll is there with that name SweetFX will not work and renaming d3d11.dll to something else and proxy it, will make Helix nonfunctional. If there is anything i can do or don't understand, please let me know.

Just install this fix first, then install Sweetfx mod and overwrite if asks. 3D fix may have files like dxgi.dll, but it doesn't use them at this game.

  21. Hello! Thank for your amazing work!!! I enjoy many games in stereo 3D with your fixes!
I'm trying to make the worse and pure mods (which is must have, I think) work good in stereo 3D with your great fix. There are 2 things that make the game unplayable in stereo 3D with them: new headlights with dynamic shadows and glowing cone from headlights while raining. For now I found that I can remove this effects from this mods by deleting files dynamiclightprefab.lib and lighteffectprefab.lib from unpacked patch.dat file. But it will be awesome to fix this effects! I tried to found and save broken shaders. I set "Hunting=1" in d3dx.ini and start to press 2, 3 on numpad but nothing happens(( Please, help me, what am I doing wrong?

    1. Setting hunting=1 should work. Try pressing 2 many times, and look for shaders that blink off then back on. Also try 5 key for vertex shaders and look for similar effects. If that doesn't seem to be working, set calls=1, and look for the d3d11_log.txt file and see if there are errors or other problems reported.

I would expect you will need to use the proxy override feature for TheWorse mod, and it's always possible that it will interfere with the hunting.

Another possible tack would be to keep the ShaderFixes folder only, but use the latest version of the tool which has numerous bug fixes and keyboard handling changes that should be more compatible.

    2. Thank you for so fast reply! I should try this things. I don't need to use proxy, because TheWorse mod works not like ENB. It consists of 2 packed files: patch.dat and patch.fat. They located in Watch_Dogs/Data_win64 folder. And it adds new textures and new shaders to the game, that replace old "fixed" shaders. This is how I see what happens, but I am very novice, so I can be wrong everywhere:))
I noticed a new problem: when I use TheWorse mod with 3D fix, it changes COLOR gamma of reflections on wet roads. Can't understand how could it be?..

  22. is hack Personal information’s separation can be adjusted alone?i think that not hud element

    1. Don't think it can, but haven't looked in a long time. You might want to enable hunting and see if you can find the vertex shader for the personal information. If it doesn't make other parts of the HUD or game disappear, it would be possible to just move that one piece.

    2. need find another way to change that, but i can't bind a custom convergence/depth settings keys in this fix.....Successful bind keys in other 3Dmigoto fix

    3. Try using our latest version of 3Dmigoto of the Releases page. The version that ships with this fix is pretty old, and I don't think it even has overrides available. Newest release has been tested to work in WatchDogs, so just drop in the replacement d3d11.dll and nvapi.dll and you should be able to add custom keys.

    4. thanks!i just replacement all file (d3d11.dll d3dx.ini nvapi.dll d3dcompiler_46.dll),and it works! if i start game with old fix d3dx.ini,i can hear many alarms and still unable to add custom keys.

    5. Use the d3dx.ini from the latest version as well, and replace the [Constants] section with that from the fix. That's the only section used in this fix.

I just tried this combo on uPlay version, and was able to add an aim-override for mouse button to lower convergence. It looks to me like it's all working.

I could hunt the hack information and found the shader as a109d700a47e2afe-vs_replace.txt. I remember this now though. We tried to disable those, or move them to depth, but they are also used for the hacking of cameras and traffic lights and other pieces like conversations.

Anyway, give that a try if you want to see if you can narrow them down. There are new features in 3Dmigoto to do texture mapping as well, so you can separate these from the other pieces, but it's not easy.

    6. thanks for you help,in some other fixs, can d3d11.dll(exists game correction)and 3Dmigoto default d3d11.dll be combine all into one file?because some sweet fix reshader have this dll, anyway, thanks for you reply!

      Delete
    7. Yes, that's possible. You use the proxy dll feature of 3Dmigoto and/or SweetFX to load the other DLL. Look for a forum thread in the 3D Vision forums where people talk about this.

  23. Hi mike_ar69, bo3b and DHR - I just finished this beautiful and fun game after waiting several years for a card like the 1080ti to be able to play at ultra settings in 3D vision... and also for the patches to fix the performance issues. Thank you so much for this fix and passionate work. You guys are heroes!!!!

  26. I picked up the Uplay version of Watch Dogs for free a little while ago, and am trying to get it to work with my 970 + LG E6 TV + latest drivers (390.65). However, when I launch the game, it hangs and won't start. This is the case when using the fix or not. It runs fine when I disable stereo 3D in the NVIDIA control panel, and other games work fine in stereo 3D, like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Anyone have any ideas?

    1. As a datapoint, I tested this recently, and it was working OK on my system.

Try doing a reinstall of the driver, using DDU and fully clean. Having the game hang at launch even with no fix is more likely to be something like that.

    2. As it turns out, it was just taking a really really long time to start, like a couple minutes. It also starts in windowed mode, and then I have to press Alt+Enter to go into full screen. But in any case, I'm getting stereo 3D now with the fix.

  27. Has anyone had any issues running this in Surround and 3D vision? I keep getting a crash to desktop when the 3D vision kicks in.

  28. Love this fix - makes the streets come alive - thank you!!

  29. This is what I found for Watchdogs - and other games like "The Witcher 3" -

    - while you are IN the game, Alt-tab OUT

    - go to your Nvidia control panel

    - in "Adjust Desktop Colour settings" - click ON to "other Applications control colour settings"

    - and then click BACK to "USe Nvidia settings"

    - Then "apply" - and ALt-tab back to your running game.

You should find Watchdogs is now back at normal brightness.

But do keep Brightness and Contrast at 100% for "Use Nvidia settings".

P.S. This should also cure overly dark other 3D games.

  30. I've had this issue for years.

One other thing you can try in-game is hit "Alt" + "Enter" a few times to re-size between full window and windowed mode - it sometimes makes the game brighter once it's in full window.

  31. Do you see the problem if you take screen shots and look at them later?

I've just tested this and the 3D is working well, and in my case the gamma is actually too high, not too low. I need to turn it down to lowest setting to get good results. This is on a 3D Vision monitor.

Generally speaking this will be a problem with gamma. The game might be using a different output format that includes too much gamma. Or you might have some other mods running that do this. Try to simplify your setup to narrow it down. It doesn't have anything to do with the fix itself.

In Witcher3, you need to disable the in-game setting for gamma. If you are using a TV, you need to review the settings to be sure the TV is not botching the image. TVs tend to have terrible software with terrible defaults.

    1. You'll need to fill in details on your setup, there are too many variables. If you are using a 3D TV for example, the TV itself could be screwing this up.

  32. Thanks, Bob - I haven't tried the screenshot thing, but will play around with Gamma in Watch Dogs next time I play it.

  33. That suggests it's not something with the hardware output or even driver, because both games use the same game engine. WD2 is updated of course, but should be pretty similar.

Still, I can't explain why removing nvapi.dll would matter here, we don't hook or change anything related to gamma. Maybe a timing problem? I'll experiment with these two on my setup.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Just tested WD2 and I don't see any problems with the gamma. Looks fine here, 50% is about right. Better than WD1.

I don't know what might be happening for your setup, but any mods that alter DXGI are suspect. My system is Win10 1803, Driver 419.67, 1440 3D Vision monitor, Uplay version.

  36. I had the same problem. Just reinstalled the WD1 and it got totally dark, when 3D was on.

For me the Alt+Enter fix worked. The darkness was not there, when in Window mode. I set the game up to Borderless window mode and now it seems to work properly.
