Blade & Soul

Last Updated:  January 10, 2017

What this mod does:
- This keeps most of the HUD / UI at a fixed depth. Mouse cursor is placed at screen depth.
- Fixes minor shadow issues
- Places a low convergence preset on the tilde key (~). Use this for the "Daily Dash" screen & some cutscenes.
- Places medium & high convergence presets on the Tab key. Use the Medium preset when talking to NPCs. In-game, rebind the function on the Tab key to another key (such as the 'Q' key).
- Places a toggle switch on the slash key (/) to make the HUD & UI screen depth.

Remaining Issues:
- Blue experience bar at the bottom of the screen disappears at high convergences.

Installation:
1)  Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game's directory.
2)  Use Nvidia Inspector to assign the game's EXE (client.exe) to the profile "UDK (Unreal Development Kit) based games". (For instructions on how to assign profiles, see this guide)
3)  Run the game and in the Graphics Settings, ensure that "3D Monitor Support" is enabled

Disclaimer:
- Though it's highly unlikely, there is a possibility that you may be banned using this fix. So use this at your own risk.
- Also, don't point the developers to this fix. (Don't mention this fix in the official BnS forum).

    1. Wow, I didnt even know till seeing patch this udk/ue3 game. Was just looking at a few pics of people making characters.
This kind of depresses me with Mass Effects character generator now = /

      1. Luckily this already has stereo 3D suppport. So the only major issues were HUD issues.
I kind of regret not experimenting with the character generator more. I just hit the ramdomize character button =P. I'll probably pay up for an alteration voucher, though.

    3. Thanks again 4everAwake for this fix, I was posting on Geforce forums when you were working on this Helixmod. I'm still having crashes every 10-40 minutes but let me tell you that I will not play this game without the Helixmod, you made it too beautiful.

I would play 8-10 hours a day even when I had to relog every 10-40 minutes. 90% of the time it happens right after the loading screen when zoning/teleporting, every now and then it will just crash while I'm running around or fighting. I get CTD bnscrashreport, first I thought it was Gameguard detecting the DLL so I have tried what you suggested to inject the Helixmod after removing the D3D9.dll. Also yesterday's patch completely removed Gameguard.

I also resorted in clean installing Windows 10 with only B&S installed, I also read several posts about the Razer Chroma and Asus programs causing the crashes. I use neither though I have a Asus ROG motherboard.

Now I wonder am I really the only one crashing with this Helixmod? Please let me know if you are experiencing the problem, I have already tried everything that was posted everywhere, even from the Asian forums.

      My specs:
      3930k
      GTX 980 Ti SLI
      Windows 10 64-bit
Tried the last 3 most recent Nvidia drivers as of 05FEB2016
I also tried the game on two different SSDs

Now that Gameguard is gone, I have to focus on something else, I'm not sure if Nprotect and Gameguard is the same thing or they work hand in hand. I'm running out of options but I'm not giving up.

Thanks again for keeping the 3D Vision community alive.

    4. Thank you very much for the fix.

I have crashes too but it's not that often maybe once in 2 hours. I think it's mostly while not fighting for example when crafting or loading into dungeon.

    6. I have been having issues doing this. When I add "Client.exe" to the UDK profile i get the error message that its already assigned to multiple profiles. How can i get around this?

      1. Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Use Nvidia Inspector to delete the profile "Client.exe". Then you should be able to assign Client.exe to the UDK profile. Let me know if you still have problems with this.

      2. Also, I just updated this patch. All HUD & UI should be fixed now.
