The Fall

Last Updated:  August 8, 2016

What this mod does:
- Fixes haloing & lighting issues
- Pushes HUD into the screen a little bit
- Places 2 convergence presets on the 'Q' key

Installation:

1)  Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the directory that has the game's exe file.
2)  (For Windows 7 & 8)--  In the NVIDIA Control Panel, under "Select when the display is in 3D mode", ensure that "Only while full-screen 3D programs run" is NOT selected.

3a)  For the Steam Version:
  • Use Nvidia Inspector to assign "TheFall.exe" to the profile "3D-Hub Player". (For instructions on how to assign profiles, see this guide)
  • In your Steam library, right click on "The Fall" and select "Properties"
  • Click "Set Launch Options"
  • In the box, type -force-d3d9 and click "Ok"
3b)  For the non-Steam Version:
  • Run the game using the included shortcut "The Fall- Helixmod.bat"

-Made this using DarkStarSword's Unity template.

  1. This is awesome. I played a couple of hours with it partly broken before it even occurred to me to look on HelixModBlog... And sure enough- you already fixed it. Looks great. Thanks.

  2. 3D is not activating when I launch the game (Steam version purchased today for $0.99). All your other mods have been working great!

    1. Just tested it again, and it's working fine here. (GOG version though).

Make sure it is not in windowed mode. Unity has some weird behavior too, try alt-tab out and back in.

  3. Thank you for your reply. Confirmed full screen (even toggled on and off windowed mode). Alt tabbed in and out. Pressed CTRL-T as well. No luck.

    1. Hi David. It seems the Steam version was updated. So I had to re-do the fix and add new instructions. Re-download & let me know if you run into any more issues.
