    1. Your hardware sucks then:)
Or you missed the part about needing hardware to push 120FPS.
But you are welcome in any case:)

You should check that video by the way. Is not there only for the show.
Oh and next time please bother to WRITE ore than 2 words and a question mark...

  3. I just thought it would be like in "Rage", only that I have tried, i have gtx970 and sony hmz t1, for me, worked only 1176x664!!! looks beastly, t1 does not go into the other modes, side by side vision...moreover, there are glitches in the fog... In Rage everything was amazing, but 30fps, i cant playing (((,in any case, thank you for the work, and sorry for my english....

    1. I updated the RAGE fix a few days ago;) It should provide better results;)
What do you mean glitches in the fog? I think you are seeing the clipping (Scissors clipping) that If I disable the whole game renders wrong...

    2. Hi Helifax
Im a big fan of Nvidia 3d vision but im also big fan of Oculus Rift. Vorpx got a user created profile so mooddders like you can make non vr games playable in VR and share profile through Vopx cloud.. We need talented person like you for vr community.

    3. Hi Andy Sky,

Currently I am not really interested in VorpX or anything related to VR. My testing with Vive wasn't that great, especially since I am using 3D Surround (5760x1080 in stereo 3D = 11520x1080 of what you would see in 2D).
The lack of resolution in current headsets is really hitting me hard :(
In the future when things get better, I will definitely be interested in VR:)

  4. Hi Helifax, i have followed all of your instructions and settings, i had the red "OUT OF MEMORY" error with divided screen. I had set “ForceFullScreen = true” to false, but the game still starts always with a double image divided vertically (but no OUT OF MEMORY error) The ctrl+7 does not turn the 3D on. My specs are: Windows 7 64 Ultimate, single GTX980, Asus PG278Q monitor, driver 365.10. Help please, thanks.

    1. Hi,
Try setting force Window Mode to true. Also, when setting this option try setting the game to either window mode or borderless (in-game settings).
I don't have Windows 7 installed on a single GPU PC anymore so is bit hard to test, but in the past it worked.
      Hope you get it sorted:)

    2. Thanks Helifax for your quick reply, i have put Window Mode to true, tryed borderless and put on nvidia control panel 3D always on, the 3D was working but with very low frame rate 25 fps. Then i changed the resolution to a lower spec and quit the game. I restarted the game and 3D does not work anymore, i have now always a red "warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic 3D in non-stereo display mode, please change to an acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes".

    3. Hi,

I am unsure what is happening there. On Windows 7 there is a driver bug (OUT OF MEMORY error) that appears on Single GPU /Single Screen configs when you are trying to run a game in fullscreen. This is fixed on Windows 10.
The only workaround is to have the game run in a Window. I am not sure how Borderless gets generated by this game. So best bet is to try Window Mode (and set the above flags in the ini file).
      Hope this helps

      Delete
    4. We get that Out Of Memory bug on GTA5 as well, and it's independent of Win10 or Win7. It's a driver bug of some form, so trying different drivers might also solve the problem.

In the GTA5 case, changing settings (like texture quality, draw distance) would also fix the problem.

    2. Did you find out how to install it? If its as simple as extracting the contents to steam/steamapps/common then Mine doesn't work I have mapped 3d on/off to the 0 key and I can see it switch to 3D because it goes slightly darker and the 3D on goes on - on my ASUS 120Hz monitor. But it is either full2D or very very weak 3D. Windows 8.1 64 bit

  6. Wow, wow and wow is all I can say about this 3D vision fix - the game looks much, much more beautiful and immersive. Thank you, thank you and thank you for this great passionate work!!!! Now I feel like playing the single player campaign again and actually finish it.. it just looks so much better in 3D and 1440p then 4k res without 3D vision.. I don't get kids this days with high res - I rather have 3D vision all the way!!! God Bless you for dedicating your time to help the 3D vision community! You are the reason I stick with Nvidia... because if it weren't for 3D vision I'd have jumped ship to the AMD crew! You guys are the reason I keep buying Nvidia cards!

  7. What about SLI support? (with and w/o 3D vision, because some gamers reporting SLI mode is not working)

  8. Hi Helifax,
I'd like to say that the fix is working wonderfully and I can't thank you enough for the work you guys are putting into making this possible. So anyhow to get to the point, there are some scenes where the world shadows are broken when looking at them from a certain distance. Do you happen to know if there's a setting in the game or in the .ini file that fixes this ? I have a GTX 970 and nVidia driver version 368.39 if this helps. Also the Out of Memory error occurs for me in Windows 8.1 so as someone said in a previous post I guess it's not really a Win 7 thing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually sorry it's not the shadows that are broken. It seems that certain textures become black for one eye when viewed from certain angles or distances. It usually happens when there's fog or smoke in front of them but it happens in other scenes as well which is weird.

      Delete
    2. Well I hope that texture scissor clipping issue mentioned in the readme file is a different thing from the one I'm experiencing. I think it's something separate because some textures become completely black for one eye in several scenes and it doesn't look like the scissor clipping bug but I guess it's possible to be due to the same issue. If anybody knows anything about this please give some info and thanks in advance.

  9. I tried the mod. all I got was 2 seperate side-by-side images as if it thinks I have a VR headset. I can not get the two images as actual 3D on one screen. As I have windows 7 I get the "Out of memory" over the screen. I disable the forcefullscreen parameter as the readme said to do this to fix that issue. No dice. I still get "Out of memory" message.

    Is there any way to

A: Kill the memory error message (I have 32Gb RAM)
B: enable stereoscopic view rather than 21 side-by-side views.

    Please assist

    2. Sorry, missed your questions.
Did you get it sorted or you still require help?

This game forces fullscreen ON. so setting the wrapper option is not enough:(
You also need to set the game to run in either Window Mode or Borderless Window mode.
Let me know if this solves the issue.
(This is only a Windows 7 specific error:( )

    3. got the same glitch, the 2 separate side by side images. did every thing that it say when using the patch for windows 7 single GPU but it still doing 2 separate side by side images in windows mode (.ini force fullscreen=false and ingame menu), also when setting force window mode to true in 3d nvidia panel. All my others games working in 3d. if some1 know how fix it, please help.

Also got the steam vr headset (not using for this game),

  10. Hi Nick, I'm no expert, but I'll throw in 2 cents. I see where you received some a response on the Geforce forum too, but no solution yet.

The Side-By-Side is nothing to worry about. Just a side effect of the wrapper. I get it too when toggling Control+T. Helifax addresses it on page 17 of the Geforce thread.

The Memory error is referring to your video card memory. Most importantly, Section 1 of the Readme references several advanced settings. Make sure those are all set as recommended. If you've already done it, maybe double check it?

I believe I recall seeing Helifax address the system memory error further back in the same thread. If I find it, I'll post it.

    1. Edit: Page 10 on the Geforce forum references the memory error. Also I see where TsaebehT mentioned the possible fix too.

In the 3DVisionWrapper.ini, try changing “ForceFullScreen = true” to False. Save and retry.

  11. hey Helifax, i appreciate your work a dedication you put into this. i followed the instructions and started the game but it did not work. the game started but it was not in 3d stereoscopic, and it was utilizing 1 GPU instead of my 970 SLI. I do not know why it did not work, but the only thing i can think of that is different is my Nvidia geforce driver, it is not 365 it is the latest 368. should i try it again and see if it works if i change the driver back? It would be great to give me some help if you can. thank you for your time helifax i appreciate it.

    1. SLI is not actually supported in OpenGL. So all you will get is mostly what one card can do. The 2nd card will help a bit but not by much.

Make sure that you run the game (executable) as Administrator. Check the Readme file again and make sure you followed all steps :) (having an Admin account is not enough).

  12. I'm getting certain textures (enemies and myself, and a few other things) are totally black.. Then when I shoot a monster it turns into its correct texture. 980ti win 10.. The readme does not make it clear if I should unzip the files in the common/doom folder as is or then go into the 3d vision folder and pull those files out of that folder and into the common/doom folder... So i pulled them out and left another version in the 3d vision folder.

  14. Hi.
I downloaded the wrapper and copied it.
Read the instructions carefully done everything it said.
tried a few other settings turned off but still cant get 3D to kick in>?.
I have sli GeForce 1080s with windows 10.
I never post or ask for help as I have never had a problem even with some fixes where you have to change profiles etc. So this should be simple just will not work for me.

    Install:
    1. Before installing the wrapper:
    - Start the game and set all your settings like resolution, rendering options. - Set the game to run in FULLSCREEN MODE. - Following settings are mandatory: - Disable Compute Shaders [Video Settings] - Set Antialiasing to either of the settings: OFF, FXAA, SMAA. Any other type of AA is post-process and is not supported.
    - Following settings are recommended but not mandatory: - Disable Motion Blur [Video Settings] - Disable Depth of Field [Advanced Video Settings] - Disable Depth of Field AA [Advanced Video Settings] - Set Motion Blur to Low [Advanced Video Settings] - Save the settings and exit the game.
    2. Install the wrapper:
    - Copy all the Fix files next to the game .exe file. (Ex: copy everything in “D:\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM”)
    - Set the game to run as Administrator always (even if you are using an Administrator account)! This can be done by selecting DOOM.exe->Properties->Compatibility, as shown below:

    Done all of this.

    Thanks for any help.

  15. The screens on the weapons don't go to the correct depth if you adjust the convergence. This is with the latest version of the fix. Not sure if you are aware. Also, I have to leave the depth at the default 15%, otherwise I get really bad texture clipping.

    1. Not sure. Maybe try doing a DDU driver reinstall, but use the driver that Helifax notes in his instructions as being compatible.

  20. I have an issue that I haven't seen mentioned yet, but I am new to the whole 3D scene. When I get into Doom the convergence is insanely out of whack. In your demo video things were nice and tight and the 3D effect was easy to see. In my game it appears more like just two separate images, as if the "eyes" are incredibly far apart.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Should be possible to lower the convergence using Ctrl-F5 to lower it. You need to have advanced settings enabled in the 3D control panel. Not positive that works on OpenGL games, but I think it does.

      Delete
    2. I did that, but it only made the objects "closer to the screen" closer together, but the ones "further from the screen" more apart.

      Delete
    3. OK, that will be too much Separation then instead. That's Ctrl-F3 to lower Separation. One thing that is weird about 3D Vision is that the same image will have more or less depth depending on the output. An image that looks great on a monitor will have too much separation on a projector. Lots of variance in hardware.

      Delete
    4. That's what I had figured it was, but using that doesn't work. It'll have a bar appear that says something along the lines of Separation, and that bar will fill or empty depending on the hotkeys I press, but it does nothing to the image. The separation will stay the same.

      Delete
    5. OK, that's weird. That suggests that maybe your driver has been broken somehow. Might be worth a DDU style clean install of an older driver. The 384 branch is fairly broken.

Another possibility would be to play with the .ini settings. Look for DepthMultiplicationFactor and StartupStereoSeparation, and see if that can change the starting separation to something usable.

      Delete
    6. That worked! Thank you so much!

  22. Hiya bo3b.

So if I use the 7.19 fix the game launches and crashes with the report screen popping up.
I have the crash logs but cant make much of them.
I saved version 6.12 ages ago if I use that it works fine.
In the 3D info it says fix version 7.19 though I'm using the 6.12 wrapper?.
So I have no idea why the newest version crashes. The games setup prior to installing the wrapper. Run as admin etc.
I have copied some of the crash log that looks the most relevant.

Callstack Function(desc) Line Bytes File Process Address
    --------------------------- ---- ----- ---- ------- -------
    ** UNKNOWN **(** FUNC_PARAM_ERROR **) ... + 0x63428f9e ?

    ExpCode: 0xC0000005 (Access Violation)
    ExpFlags: 0
    ExpAddress: 0x0000000063428F9E

Any ideas mate?. I have done a whole play though using the older wrapper but I'm starting again and just wanted to try the latest one.

The DOOM fix link say's it was updated on 29/3/2018 same version number?.

Could also be the server is misconfigured. Maybe also worth trying a free VPN to US to see. If none of that seems like it's working, try getting ahold of Helifax. He's mostly offline now, but you might be able to PM him on the forums, or dig up an email address.

  27. Hey there. I've been looking at getting 3D fixes working for a couple of OpenGL games (Rage, DOOM).

For whatever reason in Rage I can't even access 3D Vision hotkeys at all. Fix installed, run as admin. Win 10.

I got DOOM working great after deleting the profile in Inspector, as per GeForce forums (DOOM fix creates one). No luck with Rage. No 3D hotkeys, nothing, whether I run Rage vanilla OR Rage 64 with mods.

I also noticed Norton was blocking extraction of the fix .dll. That now resolved, still no luck.
