The Evil Within (DX11)

THIS GAME WILL WORKS IN CHECKERBOARD 3D MODE (SELECTING FROM NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL), SIDE BY SIDE AND TOP AND BOTTOM 3D MODE.

FOR 3DVISION, FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL TO MAKE THE GAME WORKS: GEFORCE FORUM TOPIC. THANKS HELIFAX!!!

Update (08/23):
- Add support for all DLC

Fix:
- Shadows
- Lights
- Lights clipping
- Reflections (walls, water, others)
- Decals (Blood and others)
- Lensflares (aproximate)
- Some 2D objects
- Crosshair is in 3D

Presets:
- "P" key for recommended convergence.
- "O" key cycle crosshair depth.

TB and SBS Mode:
- The game support SBS/TB Mode using 3Dmigoto. The game will start by default in TAB 3D Mode. F11 to cycle through different 3D Modes (CB, SBS and TAB)

You can use the fullscreen option in the video game. I remove a shader that cause the entire screen goes black in cinematics and menu

Shortcuts for Separation and Convergence works normally.

**USE AC3 PROFILE TO ENABLE 3D**
**Disable Nvidia Fake3D with CTRL+ALT+F11**

Instructions:
- Extract the .zip where  EXE is located

    1. You have to assign the AC3 profile (Assassin's Creed III) to this game. Doing that + using HDMI Checkerboard in NVCP will enable the 3D in this game.

    2. DHR, thanks a lot for the fix! Pardon my ignorance, but is there possibility to run this game in 3D on normal 3D Vision 2 display? I own Asus VG278 display. I would be grateful for link with required information :) Thanks a lot!

    3. Hi Serzhas! Sadly you need a screen that support SBS, TAB or CM 3D Mode. For some reason this game refuse to start in Framepacking mode.

    1. Why should I play in 3D using depht map, P3D (tridef) or Compatibility Mode (Nvidia) -AKA Fake3D- if i can play in real geometry 3D... sorry, but Fake3D really sucks.

Using 3Dmigoto you can play this game in SBS or TAB 3D Mode....using Real 3D.

    1. Hi Ju Vo!....all the instructions and the download link are in the post. You have to read.
You need a Nvidia GPU. With AMD will not work.

    3. Hi DHR thx for info, i guess the download on top of the page is the one. But it does not say 3dmigoto , do you mean this one? THX

    4. Is the one that says "Download" (is a link to a zip file)....read the post, is not that long.

You have to use Nvidia Inspector to assign the Evil Within .exe to AC3 Profile (Assassins Creed 3) and select in Nvidia Control Panel --> Stereo tab --> combo box "HDMI Checkearboard"....by default will start in TAB 3D mode in real3D.

  7. And people still don't understand (after more than 7 years...what TRUE stereoscopy is all about)... SAD...
Depth 3D is an APPROXIMATION. It will never EVER look right (and your brain will know the difference).

The so-called "geometry 3D" is true stereoscopy as it draws things exactly as in the Real World! (Thing is, in real world no-one draws stuff, it is you who see what exists). But, is the exact same method. This is the reason WHY it looks way better than any attempt from a single "inaccurate" depth buffer...

  9. I'm having halo effect on the characters. Isn't fixed yet? Or just me?

    1. That's because you are playing in Compatibiliy Mode (aka fake 3D)....press CTRL+ALT+F11 to disable.

    2. thanks. I'm going to try right now

    3. I have just tested. In fact I was running real 3d(and halo with effect), when I pressed CTRL+ALT+F11 halo was gone but 3d became dull and fake. :(

    4. Can you post a screenshot.
If you see an halo in real 3D, something is wrong in your PC. Maybe is your monitor/TV that have crosstalk and/or ghosthing.

    5. nevermind, you were right, I was in CM. Sorry, my bad.

    1. figured it out. i used helifaxs tutorial and gave better insight. But my problem was the game still wouldnt full screen or even register it was open. for some reason the game would only pop in task manager. My trusty Borderless Gaming tool, sold on steam software, forced the game in full screen!! Now i play in 4k 3d 60hz. Awesome great fix and hopefully this may help someone else in the future!!

  13. Too much ... this game was not intended to be ran 3d ... brain can't handle. First the happiness that I am actually seeing it in 3d, then the horror of realization... Finished entire game, THEN found this post :( Oh well, now New Game+ in 3d! I just hope my nerves can handle it hehe :) Thank you for putting your personal time into this, making other gamers lives better! Will donate.

  15. Hi.
    DHR great fix.
How can i play with sbs ? Do i need to change into 3d tv play to get the option to choose sbs from control panel ?

I don't have any choises exept resolution and refresh rate in my nvidia ctrl panel under 3d setup page.

I got it running in 3d vision but as there is OpenGL elements on the engine there is eye synch issues and i believe i could get better performance playing it sbs @ 3840x1080

      "TB and SBS Mode:

    2. yes....sorry to bother.nothing anymore. Force vsynch and framelock on 60 i get a steady 60fps no eye synch problems.

Man this also needs a second play through.
      Sweet fix. thanks DHR
and thanks to Helifax for the 3d vision workaroung !

  18. I had this working, after whole day trial n error, but VorpX messed it up, nor did VorpX work for VR. Now trying to get back to 3D Vision... Old approach was the older fix, the forum info. Current approach is 3D Fix Mgr and it's not working, and the Dx3d.ini file seems different. What happened to the forum info? (can't find it) Does 3D Vix Mgr work? Im on Windows 7 btw. Thank you for any help.

  19. I got it to work with force_stereo=0 , force_stereo=0 , x7 = 0 . Thank you so much for all the work you've done over the years. However, your original post is removed from Nvidia forums. I remember LOD has to be disabled, but not the other settings, can you post what they were please? I need to adjust settings to balance it out. Sincerely.
