Zombie Army Trilogy

After fixing Sniper Elite V2, I had my sights set on fixing this game too since it uses the same engine and same overall gameplay, although I wasn't quite sure how much I would actually like the game itself. Much to my surprise, I found I actually REALLY liked it, even moreso than Sniper V2. Many of the gameplay elements in V2 seemed way too arcadey for a legit sniper game, but they felt right at home here, not to mention some of the overall gameplay elements (ie. accuracy and stopping power of the weapons) are much tighter and enjoyable here... and what's not to love about shooting zombies through the head (and seeing their brains spray out in 3D slow-mo!!!).

Fixed:
Lighting & shadows
Skyboxes
Bloom effects
Adjustable HUD depth & 3D crosshair implemented

Not fixed:
Nothing (that I'm aware of). Game is darn near flawless!

Updated on 2017-01-03 to version 1.1
-Updated to 3DMigoto version 1.2.53 to automatically update Nvidia driver profile with required settings to make easier for users to install fix

Instructions

1. Download fix: Version 1.1
2. Extract fix contents to ..\Zombie Army Trilogy\bin folder
3. Required settings: Ambient Occlusion should be on for 3D crosshair to work. All other settings should work.

Tools used for this fix:
-3DMigoto version 1.2.53
-DarkStarSword's auto-depth 3D crosshair and HUD filtering technique

Special Thanks:

  1. One thing I'll mention is that for some reason for me the game was not loading the Nvidia profile that exists for the game, instead it would load and the green text would say it was an unknown application. What I needed to do was to open the profile in Nvidia Inspector, and remove the .exe files that were assigned, and then readd the ZAT.exe file (located in the bin folder), and then the game loaded up and the green text said it was loading the Zombie Army Trilogy profile, which is vital to having Ambient Occlusion work properly.

    1. Hey DJ-RK, for some reason, I still get the unknown application green text even with removing and readding the .exe through inspector. What driver version are you using?

I don't mind adding the specific ambient occlusion flags to the general games profile while I'm playing the game, but the trilogy profile only has SLI flags from what I see. Any help will be appreciated.

    2. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, installing newer drivers, readding the game, adding a new name and then adding that but nothing works for some reason. If I rename the .exe to watch_dogs or something it loads the watch dogs profile. But no matter what, the army trilogy profile just won't open (even after a clean reinstall with fixes applied).

    3. Did you use DDU to cleanly install the driver?

    4. Luckily the max payne 3 profile fixes AO as well, so I'll just use that instead. However the profile issue is pretty weird.

    5. Not really, I just ticked the "clean install" button when installing it. Maybe I should try that. Thanks for the response.

    6. I did a clean install after using DDU to uninstall the old driver. But the profile issue remains. Will assigning the zat.exe to the maxpayne3 profile work without limitations?

    7. I just updated the fix to include the latest 3DMigoto release which allows me to have the fix automatically update the Nvidia profile with the required settings, so just download the new fix, uninstall the old one and install it, and you'll know it worked if you see the green text say "Zombie Army Trilogy 3D fix by DJ-RK"

    1. Glad to make that wait finally over. It should definitely be worth the wait, game looks and plays great in 3D. Enjoy!

  3. Awesome stuff, ZAT is a great game, finished it about four times and still love it.

Do obscurences fields work? or should that setting be off the game looks weird with that setting on. I could never get the obscurence field setting to work with Tridef3D.

    1. Pretty sure I had that option enabled, so it should be fine although I'm not entirely familiar with what that actually does (never seen it before in any other game), so hard for me to say without knowing exactly what I'm looking for.

  7. Thanks so much for this fix. I am playing on aTV with 3dtvplay. I select 1080p 24hz and the 3d signal kicks in with the samsung 3d logo on my screen and my glasses turn on which indicate the signal is on 3d. However, 3dvision does not kicking in. there is no image separation. Its only one 2d image with a 3d signal. The Nvidia rating does not come up. and you can't even CRTl-t to toggle 3dvision on and off. not sure why. Usually if I can't get a game working in my tv it is because it can't be forced to play on 24hz in which case you get a message from nvidia saying the current resolution is not supported. I've never seen this behavior before. I really don't care to play at 720p. Maybe the fix is dependent on 60hz?

    1. No, we don't specify any frame rate restrictions in the fixes. Remove the fix to start with, and make sure you can get the game to run in 3D TV Play before adding the fix. You want to see it in 3D first, even if it has broken shadows and other effects.

  8. Just a comment for anyone who previously had issues getting this fix to work due to the Nvidia profile bit, I've updated the fix to include the latest 3DMigoto release which allows me to have the fix automatically update the Nvidia profile with the required settings, so just download the new fix, uninstall the old one and install it, and you'll know it worked if you see the green text say "Zombie Army Trilogy 3D fix by DJ-RK"
