A Plague Tale Innocence (DX11)


Fix:
- Shadows
- Lights
- Tile Lights
- Reflections
- Decals
- Lights Shafts
- Volumetric Fog
- HUD and menus

TB and SBS Mode (optional):
- The game support SBS/TB Mode using 3Dmigoto. Remove the ";" in the  ";include = ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini" of the d3dx.ini. Default TB Mode. F11 to cycle. Also remember to use "HDMI Checkerboard" in the NVCP to remove the 720p limitation.

Presets:
- "F1" to see presets

Settings (IMPORTANT!!!):
- Always Use AO = Ultra and Disable Contact Shadows
- The game use TAA, that is totally broken....so instead you need to disable or use another one. If you don't do this you will get a blurry image. To do this, edit the ENGINESETTINGS (located in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\A Plague Tale Innocence\) and use AA { }:

Enabled 0  ---> Disable

or

Enabled 1
Type 1    ---> Use another AA.
Quality 2


Notes:
- Setup all the things in the video option inside the game before you start to edit the ENGINESETTINGS , you need to put the file in "READ ONLY" to play.
- Also i particulary found that disable the following PostProcessing effect: "fringe", "Lens Distortion", "dirt", "Filmgrain" and "Vignetter" the game looks way better....devs abuse of those and in fact image quality looks worst. So you can disable in the ENGINESETTINGS, just putting in zero ("0") the values at the bottom of the file.
- I know how to fix "Contact Shadows", but they looks bad....even in 2D (In my opinion), so i stop fixing and disable instead.

Instructions:
- Extract where APlagueTaleInnocence_x64.exe (A Plague Tale Innocence\)
- Start the game, when "Rundll32" prompt appear, press "Yes" (in Win10 this don't appear). This is for the Profile Override needed for this game. In Nvidia overlay you will see "3Dfix by DHR".
- If you have a CRASH on start....run the game as administrator.  In the properties of the EXE, compatibily tab check the "run as administrator" checkbox.

  5. I dont unterstand the line "edit the exe". How to edit a exe and where is the chebox? :D

    2. Propblem solved.

      Other problem ist, that I cant deaktivate helifax' cm mode unleashed. Ive deleted the .exe from the unleashed tool, but I have still the issue that this a plaque tale used the cm unleashed tool and the real 3d wont kicked in :D

    3. If you are using the most recent version of 1.7, on the game page, top right corner is the CMU checkbox. Just uncheck it.

  7. I tested yesterday with a 3D projector but without success? Also tested with SBS. You just have to re-copy the helix into the game folder. Contact sharpness on off. AA on low. What else should I consider? I'm sorry for my english. I'm from Germany.

  12. When I run the game I always have the problem that all lights sources generate a red light.
    I tried it it with multiple graphics settings and also all proposed settings in the ENGINESETTINGS file.
    Also deactivated HDR in windows and in game, but no difference :(
    I run the game with my LG E6 with 3840x1920 and the EDID file from joker18.
    I also tried different nvidia drivers but also no change.
    Anyone experienced similar issues or has an idea how to fix this?

  13. A Plague Tale: Innocence – My thoughts on game/fix/performance

    Thank you DHR for this amazing fix for an amazing game.
    Artistically, this is one of the most impressive games I’ve ever played. If you’ve ever travelled to France, Loire valley, or similar rural settings elsewhere you will appreciate the melancholic, pastoral and moody landscapes this game offers.
    Story is quite dark but very humane and played out so realistically by a talented cast. Sadness gives way to hope then to desperation, then hope again … Gameplay is very inventive and changes things up until the very last chapter, introducing new elements etc.

    The fix is perfect, no issues spotted. DHR did a great job as always
    Technical aspect: performance is very good, almost locked 60fps everywhere. 4K TV owners will be glad to find the resolution scaling option in the game menu. The few elements of the clean auto-hiding interface are mostly white, so no risk OLED burn-in.
    For an improved experience, download a little program called APTI FOV Changer and launch it before starting the game. You can then change the FOV with the F1 key.
    Hope many people got to enjoy this great game in perfect 3D!

  15. Hi, I experience the issue with the flickering textures and objects (Windows 10, 980Ti card). I've tried everything suggested in 3D Vision forum thread (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/discover/295425/a-plague-tale-innocence/), DHR suggested settings, installing various driver versions - each time removing them with DDU - even reinstalling the game - to no avail.
    It seems to have something to do with 3D depth as decreasing it make the flickering disappear completely when set to minimum. Unfortunately the game is almost 2d then :(. Check this video ( https://bit.ly/2RvSOMW ) where I recorded the issue
    The fix itself works but this issue drives me crazy as it's very distracting and breaks the immersion and I'd love if someone tell me how to fix it.

    1. You need to follow the instructions. AO must be set to Ultra. If you set them lower, the textures will flicker. I tested this on the Demo version, presumably full version is the same.

    3. OK, worked for me. When AO was on High, I got flickering textures, when on Ultra it worked. Win10 1903, Driver 425.31. Flickering of textures is usually caused by z-fighting, where the z value bounces back and forth between seen and not seen. Anything related to culling or that moves the vertices can introduce this.

      If you aren't using 425.31, try using it as a known good test case.

  16. hi every one iam facing problem when 3d kicks in I get black screen between 2 images when I try to reduce convergence there is no more 3d effect.Ive played control battlefield 5 in 3d without any problem.my display is lg oled 55c6v.any suggestions will be appreciated.

  18. I have some disturbing issues that hurt eye now with shadows and some light sources (fire) create some issues.
    There is also "F" key watch info which is totally broken.
    I believe it's due to some of the last patches that may have partially broken the fix. But maybe it's who did something wrong on my settings.

    1. The issue I have appear when i look on the bush and at a weakest level on the characters. It seems to be related to ambient occlusion (it is set to ultra, but if I set it to low or medium the problem is much worse).

    2. I've seen that effect as well. I think you have yet to disable the TAA by editing the EngineSettings file. It's not possible to change this in the game UI.

  19. I did that at first trial.
    SSAO is barelly broken if I set it at quality 3 as it's asked by DHR.
    Setting it to 1 or 2 is much worst and only disabling it solves the 3D issue. It's noticeable even on the main menu (rats).
    Disabling SSAO solves the S3D issue but the game then looks more like a game I mean it's slightly less realistic.

  22. Just got this game free on Epic give-away - however it's not being detected by 3DFM. I'm guessing one should launch this "normally" the first time - then exit - then see if 3DFM picks it up?

    1. I got it to work manually as per original blog install instructions. Still odd it doesn't appear in 3dfm installed list, although it's not the first game on Epic that has had that issue.

    2. Good to know the fix is working, thanks for checking. The reason it doesn't show in the 3DFM list is because they changed folder name to "APlagueTale". If you edit the profile you can change the InstallFolderName to that, and it will pick up the game.
