How to make make things working:

PLEASE ENSURE you are using a 3D-Vision-SUITIBLE Driver SetupTo proove or achieve, I suggest reading + using this:

1. INITIAL-Setup (only needed once):

  • INSTALL the fix with 3DFM
  • or download it from below and EXTRACT the archives files to the game install folder: ...\StateOfDecay2\Binaries\Win64
  • START "00_UE4-UniversalFix-2_Config.cmd" located in  ...\StateOfDecay2\Binaries\Win64
  • READ/FOLLOW all the things in the tool
  • ONCE if you have entered the Config-Tool Quick-Start Menu, JUST close it
  • Please read/follow the section below ("Starting the game and Ingame Setup")

 
2. Starting the Game and Ingame-Setup:

- START the game via 3DFM, or via launcher/shortcut/game-executable

    • you may need to wait up to 15 min if you run the game for the first time!
    • The game may have HUGE INPUT LAGS the first time and while loading (NEW) areas (because of shader caching) ....its getting better the more you play.

    - Set FULLSCREEN in the game options.

      • If 3D will not work, try ALT+ENTER and ALT+ENTER again, or STRG+T
      • If 3D still not work, read the FAQs from the link below

      - USE HIGHEST available Anti-Aliasing settings

        • The fix sets AA and AO as good as suitible for 3D-Vision.
        • Any lower AA settings MAY can make your image grissly, but its up to you!

        - Additional In-Game Settings:

          • nothing special, everything is up to you!
          • Auto-Depth-HUD-Option is not recommended, because of some symbols clipping
          • Auto-Depth-Crosshair is working WITHOUT using Auto-Depth-HUD/UI option

          3. Key Assignments in the Game:

          - All key-options are shown in the On-Screen-Display in game
          - PLEASE RAD THIS for get an idea how AUTO-DEPTH-HUD works and can be made game-individually cool: Adaptation option for the automatic depth of the HUD / UI
          • F2                                        On-Screen-Help (OFF/ON)
          • NUMPAD -                         toggle low convergence (ON/OFF)
          • RBUTTON (Mouse)           lowers convergence for aiming (on key-hold) - by 40% (use 00_UE4-UniversalFix-2_Config.cmd for change)
          • XB_LEFT_TRIGGER      lowers convergence for aiming (on key-hold) - by 40% (use 00_UE4-UniversalFix-2_Config.cmd for change)

            2. HI Losti! first of all, thank you very much for the fix! unfortunately, i've got some problem with this game and I tried to fix it by 00_UE4-UniversalFix-2_Config. Initially I had some broken HUD elements, especially the text in the center of the screen..but i solved it, disabling the HUD fix, now remain white horizon overlay issue and often yellow light overlay too. In this case, i can only switch on - off white horizon overlay fix by pressing left CTRL + numpad 0 and switch on - off light fix by pressing left CTRL + numpad 1...this for several times, then, only after a few minutes it fixes everything by itself. The last issue is aiming convergence, i tried some percentual option...but is the same for me, the crosshair is not at right depth! Unfortunately, for this game, time is the most important thing, so it's hard to wait until everything works out, without losing your life in game! Can i do something else? I'm on win 10 1909 425.31 Nvidia driver...please help! thank you again!

              1. This is not an individual game fix means there are problems left. The Things with the HUD are well know but this shader cannot be added to the universal fix because this is not suitible for other Games. You can use the config tool to put this shader into depth but this will also afflict other HUD elements. To make this cool the game needs an individual game fix for the HUD. Im not willing to do this for free or until i play the game and i think i will not play it ^^. The light fix will not have to do anything with the things you mentioned. You have to use the HORIZON white overlay fix and set this to SKIPP, not on or off. This fixes your overlay issue.

                The Center of the Screen things are also logic if you enable auto depth HUD. In the Unreal-Engine 4 Universal Fix 2 Blog post there is an explaination what this will do. In Menues etc you are forced to disable this function not to breake HUD. Again this is because this is not an individual game fix.

                If you turn of the HUD fix its not a wonder that the crosshair will not work in depth. To have a suitible HUD for this game, you should reenable the HUD fix and set the HUD to a max depth of 1%. Than you should adjust the depth for the middle HUD to your likes. For crosshair only its often usefull to set all sides to 10 or 20 %. BUT also in this case you need to disable this with NUMPAD - in menues.

                There is also a detailed tutorial how to modify the depth ot speciffic textures e.g. for only the crosshair. You find this as a link in the UE4-UF2 fix post. But its a bit more advanced but you should be able to do if if you follow this exactely. With the help of this you can only put crosshair into auto depth. But you have to do this for every crosshair texture if there are more than one.

            4. not playable for me. interfaces are too broken, if i make something work, something else breaks.
              CMU is not working also((( it's 2d, just 2 similar images. Tried different profiles and settings none of them worked

              1. The next time you might want to make your answer a little nicer so that you get an appropriate reaction. In the fix post of UE4-UF2 there was all the information needed to make the game playable.

                I have published an update that takes care of setting and configuring it yourself and also fixes some errors. BUT: I didn't do that for you! Normally, I don't react to such an answer. But gave a few friendlier bug reports and inquiries than yours ...
