Unreal Tournament III - by mana84
Updated on April 10, 2013:
-Shadows fixed
-Health bars on nameplates fixed
notice: the game profile uses nvidia's 3d sight to change dinamically this game's crosshair depth, but it has some bugs. If you want to try my static crosshair, press '8' and disable nvidia's sight (Ctrl+F12 by default).
Description:
-Snow covers fixed
-Water shaders and water effects like little waterfalls are fixed
-Shadows are fixed
-Vehicle crosshairs, sniper scope and enemies nameplates are fixed
-Fog effects are fixed
-Added a static crosshair preset that solves the occasional crosshair at screen depth issue (i.e. while loading missiles)
-'9' and '0' keys switch preset for Hud 3d/2d
-'7' and '8' keys switch crosshair dynamic/static
If you want to modify hud depth, change the value of Const1 in the preset you like. If you need a floating point to hex converter you look at this: http://gregstoll.dyndns.org/~gregstoll/floattohex/

Download:
UT3_fix.zip
extract "UT3_fix.zip" archive in the "../Unreal Tournament 3/Binaries/" folder of the game, required d3d9.dll is already included in the archive. If you have steam (like me) the path is "../Steam/SteamApps/common/Unreal Tournament 3/Binaries/".

Awesome job - this fixes everything, well done. I got this game about 2 years ago but never played it because of the 3D issues. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback! I'm glad you like my fix and its great to know someone else is still interested in "old" games... I like to play old games I missed in 3d so I believe I'll release some other fixes for old games as soon as I do it. Often I tend to slow down work on old fixes becouse I believe no one is interested besides me, but I'd like to see one day all good games fixed for 3d vision, old and new ones...
DeleteThank you very much! Because of this fix I just got reminded of this game and now I can play it even in 3D!
ReplyDeleteHi! And thanks for excellent correction!
ReplyDeleteMana84, you did not try to make correction on GEARS OF WAR?
There problems with a dust, with emulsion, shadows and a sight!
Thanks!
nice suggestion about gow... but I completed it for xbox360 when I got one and I actually don't have the pc version though. I have still a bunch of games I'd like to fix but I haven't enought free time atm...
DeleteUT3? Wow!
ReplyDeleteI played hellout of this game in 2007-2010 and was dissapointed since it didnt work properly with 3DVision. Maybe I should try this out. There are no new FPS games like this atm.
enemies nameplates are not fixed, they are floating :(
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean with "floating"? They seems to look right to me apart from the issue I reported in the description as "known issues", some nameplates have health bars with random crcs and I can't fix them becouse they changes crcs each time we restart the game. Although this only happens in some of the game modes, usually with vehicles.
DeleteThank you for fix, i got little problem with crosshair and rocket launcher, when charging chrosshair goes 2d for a moment , any help?
ReplyDeletethanks for reporting, you've right.. crosshair comes at screen depth during missiles loading, it happens with and without the fix. I'll give it a look and update the page if I'll be able to fix.
DeleteFix and description updated!
DeleteIn this game crosshair is controlled by nvidia profile, no depth access in the shader then. I've updated the fix with some bugfix and added a preset with a static crosshair put at separation depth. You can give it a try by pressing '8' and disabling nvidia's with Ctrl+F12.
Thank you a thousand Times! ! ! You are my HERO :)
DeleteFix updated, all shadows and health bars on vehicles nameplates are fixed now!
ReplyDeleteIll move it to front post.
DeleteThanks, I believe I don't have the rights to move posts, I don't see the option at least... am I missing something?
DeleteI'm updating my old fixes, I'll try to edit a page only when the fix is complete so that you don't have to move them too often :)
Where it says schedule
DeleteHit automatic.
Just make a post on the game if you dont see it and ill do it though.
DeleteAny chance for a UDK dynamic shadows fix ? I tried this UT3 patch with the UDK and it seems to fix lights and decals but dynamic shadows from dominant directional lights and from point lights are still at wrong depth when changing the convergence...
ReplyDeleteIt would be different for each game. Shaders are dynamic.
DeleteMy UT3 "stops responding" at the splash screen if I install this mod :(. Any known fix for that?
ReplyDeleteThis is simply fantastic! UT3 looks near perfect tin 3D now!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Today I updated my nVidia drivers to the latest and it seems to have messed up the cross-hair in game.
ReplyDeleteUsually I just hit '8' once at the begging of each new stage and your cross-hair kicks in.
However now it reverts back to a blurred double cross-hair every time I switch from foot to a vehicle and visa versa. In order to fix this, every time I hop in a vehicle I have to hit '7' for the cross hair to work normally and once leaving the vehicle and getting back on foot I have to hit '8' again. This is quite frustrating mid battle when you're in and out of vehicles and turrets all the time.
Also, when holding the secondary fire on the rocket launcher to load up multiple rockets - the cross hair blurrs and doubles for the time that you're holding the right mouse button down.
Just download old driver then. Or you can try to reinstall current driver again[3d vision doesnt properly install alot].
DeleteDrivers dont mean "squat" unless your playing a new game and even then more often then not still dont change anything unless SLI user.
