Euro Truck Simulator 2 (also works with American Truck Simulator)

Download the fix: 3Dfix-Euro+Truck+Simulator+2-2016-07-17.zip

Fixed

  • Sky box, sun, moon, clouds, etc. moved to infinity
  • God rays
  • Square mirrors stereoised (rectangular mirrors were already 3D)
  • Bad masking on water reflections fixed

Known Issues

  • After visiting a Truck shop, the mouse cursor may be stuck at the wrong depth. Restarting the game is the only reliably workaround I've found.

Installation

Extract zip file to ...Steam\SteamApps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2\

Unlocking the Convergence

By default, the convergence is locked in this game. If you would like to unlock it, open the config file in My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2

find: uset r_nv_stereo_mode "2"

set to: uset r_nv_stereo_mode "1"

Notes

Some of the fixes were a little tricky to separate out from other effects. If you spot something at infinity that shouldn't be (such as headlights), or something that should be at infinity that isn't (like the sun or clouds) please let me know.

Even the mouse cursor goes very slow, i dont know if thats because the 3D files, but also in 2D it's slow...
Like when you steer, 2 seconds later it starts to steer... But the 3D is cool though.. Shame i played it for 10 minutes and closed it because the lag

  4. It breaks before starting. They fail to start titles.
I'm playing with the 1.21 version of Steam.
What am I doing wrong or what is missing?

    1. It's supposed to just work, but Helix Mod does sometimes have problems for people. There's a couple of things that work for various people you can try:

Try both "Launch with DirectX" and "Launch with DirectX (64-bit)" from the launcher.

In the steam directory, delete the GameOverlayRenderer.dll and GameOverlayRenderer64.dll *while steam is running*, then start the game. These two files will be restored by Steam when it is launched, so no need to back them up, but if this works you will have to do it every time. This also has the downside of disabling the Steam overlay, achievements, etc.

Try using the injector version of Helix mod instead of the regular version - remove bin\win_x86\d3d9.dll from the fix, Download https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DLLS/DllsModPack1.zip , copy DLLsInjection\RELEASE\helixmod.dll and HeliXmodLauncher.exe to the game directory under bin\win_x86. Edit DX9Settings.ini and add "DefModuleName=eurotrucks2.exe" (without the quotes) on the line immediately below [General], run HeliXmodLauncher.exe and finally launch the game through Steam (32bit DirectX version only).

BTW it looks like an update to the game must have broken the skybox again - I'll have to update the fix.

  7. Fix has been updated to re-fix the clouds, sun and god rays that were broken in a recent update. Special thanks to Stryker_66 for tracking down the new cloud shader CRC!

  9. Any chance someone could have a look at the new experimental buid which has dx11 support? Tried dx11 but reflections seem messed up.

    1. I just tested this on Win10 1803, Driver 419.67, and it was working properly. I only tested Euro Truck, not American Truck. Everything looks good. The only exception was if I use the leave the truck view and have the camera over the trailer, then the skybox clouds were at the wrong depth. But while driving it looked right.

  12. version 1.34 works perfect, problem and in version 1.35 using dx11, 3dmigoto works but the game is broken,
to use dx11 you have to change this uset r_device "dx9" command in the config file
American Truck uses the same shader as the euro truck

    1. Current version on Steam is 1.34. That's the version I used to test.

Does 1.35 matter at all? Why not just keep running the 1.34 version that works? Typically I could care less about changes in graphics, 3D is what matters to me.

    2. According to the developers eventually it will move to dx11 for the improvement in frame rate rather than changes in graphics eye candy. DX9 never worked very well with large numbers of objects in cities in this game, dx11 in beta is giving higher fps. Probably worth anyone out there holding off on a shader fix until they're out of beta, as the dx11 coding changes are not yet finished as far as I know.

    1. Yes, perf is waaayyy better in dx11, I tested it one time with 3D active but without fix, and the perf was amazing, were you able to make the fix for dx11??

  14. Unfortunately in dx9 ets2 never managed to get a stable fps in cities where there is a lot of graphical complexity. That's a problem for both 3d and vr users. It doesn't matter what hardware you've got - the game engine simply can't handle all the objects in dx9 and can turn into a stutter fest!
SCS are moving over to dx11, and although its only in beta so far its showing significantly higher fps and better multicore performance. Its not so much the eye candy - which they aren't changing, but removing the fps drops which completely spoil the immersion. Despite my doubts when I bought this game (I normally play fps games), its actually my favourite most relaxing game - apart from the dx9 stuttering!

  15. Hi juninho944/bo3b/andy!!
Yeah, in dx9 performance with 3D was always crap, but...in dx11, even with 3D is awesome!!!!
So...if anyone here(DarkStarSword?) could update the fix to dx11, or tell me how to use/update the actual fix to use 3dmigoto and in dx11, I'll be very grateful!! I would even pay for it!

    Thanks in advance!!

    1. Don't think anyone has looked at this for dx11 yet. You might try asking on the Discord for help.

  16. As of when game update 1.36 comes out dx9 is being dropped. The beta for 1.36 is out, and now has full dx11 support. The developers aren't going to fix it for 3d vision since nvidia dropped support for 3d in their drivers (I did ask). So we are going to need a fix by the look of it.

    1. If you are running the Steam version, you can always download the older build (using steamdb) that still works with 3D. Not as good as a DX11 fix, but probably better than being locked out of 3D.

  19. does this still work in modern versions of the game?
