Updated 11/26/15: added more drive locations
What this mod does:
- Fixes shadows, haloing & various lighting issues
- Fixes an issue where the dungeon map had too much depth
- Adds 2 convergence presets on the 'Caps Lock' key. Use the lower convergence preset for some cutscenes.
- Adds an auto-convergence feature when aiming (whenever the crosshair appears on screen). If needed, this can be adjusted by pressing the 'Z' key and adjusting the depth & convergence to your liking. Save your settings by pressing 'F7' and restart the game.
Remaining Issues:
- HUD remains screen depth
- Light shafts look a little off
- Some flickering bloom & jittery shadows (game bug- this happens even with no fix installed & 3D turned off)
Installation:
- The game must be installed in one of these locations:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- C:\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- D:\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- E:\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- F:\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- G:\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- K:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition
- S:\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\
- Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game directory.
- For the Steam version-- delete the file "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll" in the Steam directory.

Big thanks to HeliX & DHR for the original Darksiders II fix.
Thank you guys so much!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best!!! thank you guys sooo much
ReplyDeleteOnly problem is that I can't afford all those great games you fix :D
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot mate.
*Respect*
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! When / if someday I get this version of the game, I'll make sure to use this fix :).
Thank you Great Fix !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMine crashes on launch now. Running the beta branch of the game on Steam.
ReplyDeleteTry deleting "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll" in the Steam folder and let me know if it helps or not. Usually that file causes CTD issues with HelixMod DLLs.
Deletemy game crashes,i don t see "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll". Where is exactly? please
DeleteShould be in the Steam folder. On my computer, it's in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\".
DeleteI love you.
ReplyDeletethanks o lot. Now the game run nice ;)

ReplyDeleteCouldn,t you do something with aim sensitivity in PC?? It is incredible how everybody is talking about the issue but doesnt get fixed. Its a game breaker. Cant play the steam beta version, that supposedly fixes this. I need the fix includes in a mod or patch separatedly
ReplyDeleteI can't do anything about the aim sensitivity. This mod is only meant to address stereoscopic 3D issues.

ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteHow can i remove the red text on top of the screen ? Thanks.
Reinstall the fix again. Don't copy the debug DLL into the main game folder.
Deletemy game location is at "S:\Spiele\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\"
ReplyDeletehow can i change the folder in this fix?
The first time it worked. Then I installed a different version of the game and now shaders not loaded. Already tried different ways of installation, return the first version of the game, changed the driver. Shaders are not loaded. Shadows, etc. broken. How do I restart the shaders in the game?
ReplyDeleteI need help fixing the compass/map on the bottom right @ 21:9. It sits over towards the middle righthand side of the screen and I can't figure out a way to fix it. Its driving me insane.

ReplyDeleteAttention, 5 new fixed shaders here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Darksiders+2/ds2deathinitive_masterotaku_additions_1.7z
ReplyDeleteUnzip that file in the root game folder. Overwrite files when it asks you to do it (it should be 1 existing file).
- Partially fixed light shafts. The effect doesn't produce haloing anymore but the sun light still shoots from screen depth.
- Water shaders fixed (some fire effects too with this).
- Refraction effect in normal attacks is completely fixed now.
This didn't get attention in the forums, so I wanted everyone that passed through here to play the game in the best state possible for now.
Does this helps with 20 fps camera or with insane aim sensitivity?
ReplyDeleteMy game is installed in "I:\Program files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition"
ReplyDeleteWill this work?
My C: drive is a small SSD and has no room for my Steam games
My E: drive is only 750Gb, most of that being used so Steam is not there
My I: drive is an *tb monster with my Steam being there as my Steam folder is currently 4Tb and counting.
It seems to work, although y GTX970 struggles to keep the framerate up. But with no shader mismatches triggering eyestrain (Like the original DS2 without a fix produced) I will revisit this game in 3D when i get my GTX1080
DeleteDoes anyone have a terrible performance issue? stuttering, tearing and low fps (gpu usage 80-90%)
ReplyDeleteThank you ^^
GTX 1080 - 6700K
GOG version 2.1.0.4
DeleteI have the GOG version also. I just re-installed the game and the fix and I started a new game. I've played through the first 15 minutes of the game and, currently, I'm unable to duplicate the issues you're describing. I have all graphics settings maxed out (playing at 1920x1080) and the fps never dipped below 60.
DeleteMy specs:
i5-6600k, GTX 1070, 16g ram, Windows 7 x64
nvidia driver: 378.66
Thank you for your answer, i'm playing at 1440p maxed out and my gpu utilization is between 80-90% (GPU OC 2.1ghz) I reached 20% of the game and the problem still persistent. I disabled v-sync ingame and forced it via nvidia control panel it's better to fix the tearing. I don't wanna bother you ^^' but if you launch the game next time please if you can use 1440p with DSR to see the results.
DeleteI am actually having this problem also, Abysmal frame drops at 1440p. =(
