Headlander (DirectX11) - 3D Vision Fix
3DMigoto fix by bo3b
Great fun from DoubleFine Productions.
Metroid style game play, with quirky sense of humor you'd expect.
Did I mention- psychedelic, man.
Installation
- Run the game once to make sure it's installed, resolution and refresh are like you want. Make sure 3D kicks in. It will look terrible.
- Get the fix as a zip file from here: Headlander_1.0.zip
- Unzip the files and ShaderFixes folder into the game directory, for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Headlander\
- Optional: Remove 2D cursor by editing ..\Data\Config\Default.cfg, and set ShowCursor=false
- At super high convergence, some backdrops will overlay the main screen and draw insane.
After fix, game is 3D Vision Ready.

Thanks again to Helix and eqzitara for supporting 3Dmigoto fixes on HelixModBlog.
Thanks for all your hard work and efforts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fix excellent work
ReplyDeleteYou guys are doing amazing work. Already looks cool in crossed eyed 3D especially the 2nd picture. One question, can I run triple screens in 3D?
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried this game, but in general 3D Surround works pretty well. I don't have the hardware to try it, but wide screen gaming says wide works fine, so I'd expect it to work. http://www.wsgf.org/dr/headlander/en
DeleteMagenta and pink ? Oh yes, of course, it's psyhedelic.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for that fix ... :-)

Thanks,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fix - works great. Only thing is I can't seem to adjust the HUD depth (even by changing the x constant in the d3dx file)?
ReplyDeleteI didn't make any changes to the HUD to allow changing it's depth, so there is no shader support for the .x param. Could be added if someone as motivated, but I didn't find it necessary.
DeleteAnyway to have a convergence preset for cutscenes?
ReplyDeleteSure, you can add an key override to set the convergence and/or separation to anything you would prefer. Making it automatic is pretty hard, but just adding a key based toggle is easy.
DeleteLook for some examples in other DX11 fixes.
Hey J0hnnieW4lker. For a convergence preset for cutscenes, open the d3dx.ini file using notepad and add this:
Delete[KeyCutsceneConvergence]
Key = Tab
convergence = 1.0
type = toggle
Pressing 'Tab' will toggle to low convergence.
Thank you for fixing this, bo3b. I'm only 2 hours in, but the 3D looks great.
ReplyDeleteJust finished this game in 3D. This looked amazing in 3D. Thanks bo3b!
ReplyDeleteThis game is surprisingly fun, and the 3D really made it a terrific experience.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear people are enjoying the fix.
