Hi, Thank you for working on this fix!
ReplyDeleteId love to play this game in proper 3D however it seems to be opening on Nvidia's compatibility mode, with an "Excellent" rating. Im not getting the "3Dfix by DHR" in the overlay as you say its supposed to.
Im using Windows 10 btw so I dont get the Rundll32 prompt.
Any clue what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance :).
Nevermind, got it! was stupid.
DeleteAnyone else walking into this just use the hotkey to disable 3D compatibility mode and it nows says "3Dfix by DHR" :D.
thanks for the fix!
ReplyDeleteMine just kicks me out of 3D when I try and toggle off compatibility mode off.
ReplyDeleteNever had this situation happen before. ?
Search the ini and disble the compatibility mode. There is a line for it. That you can uncomment.
DeleteAwesome done the trick. Thanks champ.
Deletei will update the fix with the "compatibility mode" already OFF....i was using an old driver version without the profile in this game, so i don't see the compatibility mode working.
DeleteIf you can't wait, edit the d3dx.ini and remove the ";" from this line --> ;Disable2DD = 1
Perfect! Thank you
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteGreat fix DHR, thank you for your work on this and generosity to share it with us!
ReplyDeleteThe game truly surprised me by how fun and graphically impressive it was. I did not know what to expect, after reading many reviews over the years which seemed to suggest that the game was not that good. I found it to be extremelly exciting to play, due to the Dark Souls-lite combat, and incredibly realistic atmosphere, with London streets glistening in the rain, fog lingering moodily in the yellow light cast by the street lamps, the intricate and realistic house architecture etc. For me personally, realistic visual style greatly increases immersion and catharsis (as opposed to stylised/cartoony visual style, like Dishonored, WoW, Agents of Mayhem, etc).
4K TV users: to get good performance, it needs tweaking. My first steps as usual are to turn off AA and lower shadows as much as possible. Thankfully, there is resolution scaling, so we're saved! It's Unreal Engine 4 engine, so it looks very good. There might be some additional tweaks so always search pcgamingwiki.
I can only stand playing with mouse and keyboard, so if you're like me the first big shock you'll have is with the atrocious mouse smoothing/acceleration. So follow the info in this Steam post to make it a little better:

Hope many people have ignored the reviews and have enjoyed this great game with DHR's flawless fix. He even set up a HUD on/off key with "P", so if you're like me, you will also end up taking too many screenshots, with such gorgeous eye candy. (if only the cyclops out there would know...)
I press F1, but nothing happens.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDelete3D kicks in ("3D Fix by DHR"), but it seems totally broken?
Nvidia 425 driver, 4K passive 3DTV with acer mod, "optimized for Nivida Geforce 3D"
can anybody confirm that the fix is working with the actual version of the game?
thx!
this helped:
Deleted3dx.ini:
[device]
width=3840
height=2160
Just tested this again, and it was working correctly here. Graphics are all fixed, looks great. Win10 1903, Driver 425.31, Origin version.
ReplyDeletethanks for testing!
Deletejust fyi: i installed another game, Life is Strange 2, and the only way to get the game to work in 3D is to add the lines width=3840 and height=2160 in the device section of the d3dx.ini ?!
