Star Wars Squadrons

3D Vision fix for Star Wars Squadrons, using 3Dmigoto and Frostbite3.  This fixes menu positions, lighting, and flight simulator effects as of the January 2021 version of the game.  There may be a very few unfixed effects, but the game is very playable and I will update this post with newer fixes as time permits.

IMPORTANT:

*Steam users.
After installing this fix, the normal steam shortcut will not launch the game properly.  Instead, create a new shortcut to the file "starwarssquadrons.exe" which, if installed in the standard location, will be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STAR WARS Squadrons
You must start Steam and leave it running in the background, then run the new shortcut.

Download link:  https://domsantini.s3.amazonaws.com/squadrons.zip

Installation:  Unzip the contents of the file into the "STAR WARS Squadrons" folder.

Start the game and make sure “compatibility mode” is turned off.  This is toggled by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F11.  (In the Nvidia control panel, "Set up stereoscopic 3D", click "Set Keyboard Shortcuts" and check the box "Enable advanced in-game settings.")

Enjoy!

  2. Awesome fix. This game really should be experienced in VR though.

    1. Sure, but not everyone can afford to pony up for VR. Plus everyone is different. Some people will care more about it being high-res, which cannot be achieved today with any VR headset. More options is always better.

(I played Fallout 4 VR all the way through, and it was great, but my second play through using 3D Vision was more enjoyable.)

  3. Well, this is a nice and unexpected surprise. Although I am having some pretty major issues getting it to render correctly once the game loads. (ghosted mouse and such) will play around with it a bit more this weekend.

Agree with bo3b on Vr the techs just not quite there for me yet and I am mortified of motion sickness.

I never expected a fix for this because it's multiplayer and uses the 3dvision curse "Easy Anti Cheat."
Am I missing some sort of break through that occurred with this anti tamper crap?

  4. Hello, Thank you first, what a good news .. I tried it under windows 10 20H2, GTX1070, losti 3Dvision hack tool, with 452.06 driver and 461.40 profiles, but SW Suadrons (ORIGIN) doesn't start, easy anticheat reveals an error "non valid licence, missing DLL (d3d11.dll) error 0X45A ...:-( Any idea hox to fixe ? Thank you :-)

  5. Hello i have the same problem in Origin version. The game dont launch "Licence non valide" "Easy Anti Cheat nvapi64.dll". If someone have an idea for fix it? Thank you so much I have wait since a long time for a 3d vision mode ! I have specially uninstall my rtx 3080 (not compatible with 3d vision) for test this experience. I hopes a compatibility will be found with origin game and in future with rtx 3000 card

  6. For EAC, check the pcgamingwiki and see if this helps: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Squadrons#Disable_Easy_Anti-Cheat

  7. Hello bo3b, Thank you for the wiki links. But sadly i read : "After a recent patch this method might not work on Origin."

I hopes a solution will be find in future. I prefer 3dvision (better graphism) with trackir in comparison to VR.

  8. Just a note on anyone having issues getting this to work. It will only work on the steam version of the game obviously, and I had big issues getting the game to apply the Star Wars squadrons profile to the game making it unplayable.
To work Around this I am using the Star wars battlefront II profile instead. Seems to be good so far... Unsure why it will apply this profile to the game but not the official one.

  9. I downloaded the fix and used both "3D Fix Manager" and a desktop shortcut to start up the game. The good news is that my "pyramid" is giving me the solid green light (had to change to full screen setting). However I have the dreaded "one eye" 3D where in this case my right eye has 3D Vision but the left eye is "black".
I am using the Epic Games version and "bypassed" EAC with a modded dll file. After I ran the game once with the modded file I replaced it with the original EAC dll file and still works without an error that there is an "untrusted" file due to the Nvidia modded files for 3D.

So my question is: how do I get "full 3D" instead of "one eyed 3D" I tried ctrl,alt,F11 to switch between compatibility mode but doesn't seem to do anything and in my control panel that is still the default key code.

  10. EDIT: I was able to get it to show in glorious 3D using the Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) profile. Not sure why the original profile was giving issues, so all good now!

  11. Hi a31632, I'm using 452.06 driver with losti tool, and SWB II (2017) profile, but it's not 3D as I thought it would be ;-) What is your graphics options, is there some tips to improve ? Thank you so much ;-)

  12. Hi, the game start automatically in “borderless window” setting. You will need to change to “full screen”. You can do this in the menu but you can also use the hotkey “Alt-Enter”. The 3D should kick in after that.

  13. I'm having a bit of a weird issue with this. It seems like it's doing something, I can turn it on and off with Ctrl-T but the actual output looks like it's taking up half the screen, then half of what's left, then half of that and so on. My tv doesn't know what to do with it.
See here for what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/9kCfVFq Apologies for the phone photo, I couldn't get a screenshot to work.
I'm not sure if compatibility mode is on, none of the other keyboard shortcuts seem to do anything.
    Has anyone seen this before?

    1. I think that happens when the resolution of the game is not matching the resolution of the TV. I've seen duplicated hall-of-mirrors like that from resolution mismatch. Set up the game in 2D so that when 3D kicks in that nothing has to change, like make sure your desktop resolution matches your game play.

  15. The built in game anti-cheat is preventing the game from running as of now thanks to the latest steam game update.

    1. Can you roll back a version using the steamdb and steam command line trick?

  16. Good idea! Let me try disabling the anti-cheat first.
