  4. Thanks a lot for your fix! The forest looks amazing in 3D! Unfortunately the fix doesn't work on the shore, when the glider is in use. It seems that the picture of the right eye is incorrect. It shows more from the beach than the left one. It happens only where ocean and land meet. Rivers and lakes look perfect. Is there a possibility to fix it? Or is it only a matter of wrong in game settings? Thanks a lot for your help!

  5. Hello, what am I doing wrong? I have changed the d3dx.ini:

    ; $\ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini\mode = 2

I want to play the game in SBS.

When I press F10 or F11 nothing happens.

    Can you please help me?

  6. Can nobody really explain to me exactly how I have to do this?

This is used by the 3DVision2SBS custom shader. To use, find the [Include] section above and uncomment the 'include = ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini' line. F11 will cycle between these modes while playing, and the current value will be automatically saved to the d3dx_user.ini on exit / F10:

  7. Just tested this again, and it seems to be running well. 3D looks terrific, but I did not play far.

I used 3DFM to enable the SBS shader, and it worked OK. In 3DFM/HelixVision go to the 3D Fix tab, and check on the "Enable alternative 3D format" and you can choose the SideBySide there. This is probably the easiest way to get it working.

Alternatively, you can try dropping in the dlls for geo-11, which also has a SBS output mode.

  8. First of all, I would like to thank you for your help. You are great. As I come from Germany, I have to work with a translator. I hope you understand me anyway.

I use a dual-boot system. I use a Windows 10 with the latest graphics driver for virtual reality and a Windows 10 with the 452.06 driver for 3D.

I was hoping that only one operating system would be sufficient with the latest graphics driver. If you can play any game in Side by Side then you don't really need an old driver or a 3D Fix Manager I thought.

Or is there a way to quickly switch between the current driver and the 452.06 driver so that I can only use one operating system?

I still had 3DFM 1.85 installed. I see there is already version 1.87.

Also, do you have any idea how to get The Callisto Protocol running in SBS?

Can you explain more about the DLLs for Geo-11? I didn't quite understand that. Thank you, you are great :)

    1. Translation works well. Easy to understand. There are two different versions of the SBS output.
The first is the one we talk about here, the original version built into 3Dmigoto as the SBS shader.
The second is built into the geo-11 version, and is created natively in the code. geo-11 is based on 3Dmigoto but is not the same.

If you use the first/original version, you need 3D Vision to generate the stereo to be then processed into SBS. That means you can't use any driver past 452.06. That also means no video cards past 2080ti will work for this.

In the second/geo-11 version, geo-11 creates the actual stereo, and thus has no dependency on 3D Vision for that part, and thus can use later drivers. As long as your output device does not require 3D Vision (like a 3D Vision monitor or projector), it can work. A regular SBS projector 3D TV should work.

If you use normal SBS, that is half-SBS, and gives a quality loss because of the stretching and shrinking. If you have the option, TopAndBottom looks better.

Look for details on how to use geo-11 for older fixes. It's here on the HelixModBlog where it is announced. If this does not answer your questions, you are probably better off to join the Discord and ask for help there.

  9. Just played through the full game, and here to note that the fix is still working perfectly. The 3D is perfect here, and really great experience. Thanks for this updated fix, it's really great.
Turn ocean/water to High settings. Otherwise the water will flicker when you pan around.

  10. I want to play the game with my brother in co-op mode soon. I've been trying to get it to work for weeks and have always had problems with frame errors and so on, but today I finally managed it. It's important to set the field of view to at least 70. Anything above that looks very strange. I turned off V-Sync and motion blur. The eye setting to Dx11. The cave and night brightness to maximum. I was unsure about the color correction. I think the original looked best, but M131 didn't look bad either. All graphics settings are on and set to maximum.

I set the depth to 40-45. I'm not quite sure about the convergence anymore. I installed the 3D fix with the 3DFM and overwrote the Geo-11 6.90 driver. d3d11, d3dxdm and nvapi64. I opened d3dxdm and set direct_mode to tab. I am playing with a Benq TK710 and on a 120 inch screen. My graphics card is a 4070Ti Super. Do you have any ideas for me @bo3b? I think this will give the best result.

But I have heard that side-by-side works with 3840 x 2160p. That interests me.

The game looks really great. Thank you ❤️

  11. I would like to play The Forest with Geo-11. I have a 4070Ti Super.

I have installed the 3D Fix and copied Geo-11 (d3d11, d3dxdm, nvapi64) into the game directory.

When I start the game I get this message:
"The game launch failed because the game has not yet been marked as compatible with the new Geo-11 driver.

To launch this game, you must either edit the game profile and flag the game to use the Geo-11 stereo driver or alternatively install the GeForce Legacy drivers v.452.06. Please note that installing legacy drivers will only work if you have a GeForce RTX 2000 series card or older."

When I remove the Geo-11 driver I get the same message.

  12. It works now. I forgot to open the d3dx file to change force_stereo to 2.

But after that the game still won't start from the 3D Fix Manager. This is probably normal or not?
