Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft [OpenGL]

3D fix for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft, the 2024 remaster of the first three Tomb Raider games and their expansions.

This fix was made (and includes) OpenGL3DVision, version 12.3, 64 bits.

Fixed

  • Shadows.
  • Specular reflections.
  • Parallax occlusion mapping effects.
  • Skyboxes for both remastered and classic graphics.
  • Scissor clipping with classic graphics, thanks to an ini setting.

Known issues
  • In Tomb Raider III, with classic graphics, some levels may show inverted 3D for geometry at some specific locations and camera angles. I didn't find a way to counter this.

Installation
  • Download this file and extract its contents in the "Tomb Raider I-III Remastered" folder, where "tomb123.exe" is.
  • Open "3DVisionWrapper.ini" and select the "RenderMode" that you need. By default it's set to 0, for 3D Vision displays. The default "Separation" is 100. You can change that in the ini or hold ctrl+F1 / ctrl+F2 to tweak it. ctrl+F3 / ctrl+F4 for convergence.
  • Run the game.

Hotkeys
  • j: 450 convergence. Intended mostly for cutscenes.
  • k: 900 convergence (default, although in 3D Vision you may need to press the key).
  • l: 1200 convergence.
  • o: this sets the HUD depth to 40%.
  • p: this sets the HUD depth to something convergence dependant.

Notes
  • If you have a lot of GPU performance to spare, make a profile for the game in Nvidia Profile Inspector (if you don't have it already), set "Antialiasing - Mode" to "Override any application setting", and "Antialiasing - Setting" to "32xS [Combined: 2x2 SS + 8x MS]". This will especially make the classic graphics look better.
  • Don't try to limit the fps of the game. Just let vsync do its job. This will make the frame sequential 3D look pretty close to synchronized.
  • After you exit the game, check that the "tomb123.exe" process didn't get stuck. Kill it with the task manager if that happens.
  • Even if (as of the second game patch) the classic graphics are limited to 30fps, you still get 30fps per eye because the game outputs many repeated frames to fill the vsync cap. Remastered graphics don't have this internal limit.
  • The screenshots in this blog post show a black border. That happened to me at 3840x2160 for some reason, but not at 2560x1440.

  2. I didn’t know this was possible as this is not direct 11 game.Thank you so much.Is there any way to save settings for convergence and separation?I use ctr + f 1,2,3,4 to get my perfect 3d however cannot save.In some geo 11 games is ctr+f7.Amazing 3d fix.Thank you for you time and hard work.

    1. You can't save your settings in real time, but you can change the defaults. Open the "3DVisionWrapper.ini" file and change the "Separation = 100" (line 61) and "Convergence = 900.0" (line 65) lines to whatever you want. You can also change the convergence values for the hotkeys that I defined.

    2. Shaders changed after the first update of the game, so the skybox is only correct for the next game updates (first and second patches, at least for now).

  4. Could you please update the Cheat Engine table for Final Fantasy IV 3d? The version you provide unfortunately does not work in the latest update of the game. I would be immensely grateful.

    1. The memory address for the fps in FFIV was based on a guide that mentioned it. I just added the hotkeys. Without knowing what to look for, I don't know if I can do it.
If you check the Steam guides section of the game, you'll see that someone uploaded static versions for the fps mod (no hotkeys. Forced fps).
