Resident Evil 8 Village [REFramework + VRto3D]

praydog's awesome REFramework makes it possible to play Resident Evil 8 Village in 3D!
This game is compatible with 3DVision driver 452.06, but if you have a different 3D display it will run better on newer drivers.

Notes:

  • 3DVision setups require a 2nd display to run VRto3D and have to follow this procedure every time you want to play the game
  • Optionally support praydog's work on Patreon
  • Once REFramework is installed, you can open its menu in-game by pressing INSERT and adjust the VR settings there like UI scale and distance
  • This hasn't been tested through to the end of the game, so let me know if you run into issues

You will need:

  • VRto3D setup for your 3D display here
  • Special REFramework build (see below)
You can follow the instructions below, or on GitHub

  1. Hello, thank you, it works very well. But, is it not possible to use the OSD to display the "depth" and "convergence" values so that I know what I have set with Ctrl +F3,F4,F5,F6? I want to adjust the 3D effect directly in the game, not via .ini and I don't know the set values.

    1. You should only modify the RE4.exe_config.json as a last step when updating the settings. Ctrl+F7 will overwrite all the depth and convergence values with what is currently set in game, so you don't need to know the numeric values.

You should check out steps 4-10 of the instructions for profile creation here: https://github.com/oneup03/VRto3D#profile-creation-steps

For this game, I set the user_store_key for the higher depth preset toggle to numpad 5, and the user_store_key for the aiming to numpad 6.

      Hope this helps!

  2. Could you please make a simple Geo-11 version for all these VRTo3D games?

    1. Sorry, that's not possible. These games would have been fixed years ago if it was.

The setup is more complex than Geo-11, but you should be able to get VRto3D running on any 3D display including 3DVision on driver 452.06 (only incompatible combination is 3DVision with GPU newer than RTX20 series)

    2. One more question, is it possible to somehow control the games with a mouse and keyboard, even if I only have one monitor?
It works via Xbox controller, but some games are hell :)

    4. I believe you could get something working as a 2nd display. You're using a 3DTV?
You can plug the TV in twice and alternate between inputs to see what you're doing.
You could also setup a virtual monitor as a second display. Either buy one of those hardware HDMI dummy plugs or install a software one.
If you're using 3DVision, you can try double plugging the monitor or the hardware dummy plug. I haven't tried those, but I know the software virtual monitor doesn't work for 3DVision.

There's no way around needing some kind of 2nd display for mouse control due to VR mods always creating two windows where one is needed for visuals and has to be visibly on top and then the game window won't accept background input and needs to be in focus. When you click the mouse, you're clicking the 3D window and not the game window, so controls stop working as the game window lost focus.

    5. Ok, I understand and thank you. I'm using a 3DTV/Projector and will try to add a second monitor "software".
      I certainly don't use 3D vision.

    7. I haven't heard of that one. I'm using this one when I play on my TV: https://www.reddit.com/r/cloudygamer/comments/185agmk/guide_how_to_setup_hdr_with_moonlightsunshine/

    8. Hello, I'm looking now, I have VorpX installed on my PC and now it contains its own virtual monitor, you just have to activate it. :)
It works great. True, I found other solutions. Thanks again..
