Hogwarts Legacy [UEVR + VRto3D]
praydog's awesome UEVR makes it possible to play Hogwarts Legacy in 3D!Update 2025-06-27:
- Auto-Depth plugin added that automatically adjusts for menus, cutscenes, etc. Thanks to jbusfield, Pande4360, and DJ for their VR Lua work that was used as a basis for this!
- Adjusted depth/convergence/FoV to better match the default game FoV
- If you had issues with crashing previously, try running recent UEVR nightly versions like 01099
- Delete your %APPDATA%\UnrealVRMod\HogwartsLegacy folder before importing the new UEVR profile with Auto-Depth updates!
Notes:
- Optionally support praydog's work on Patreon
- Toggle between different depth presets for menus/cutscenes using the XInput Guide Button or Numpad 2 (this can be changed in the VRto3D profile if desired)
- 3DVision hardware is playable on latest drivers thanks to WibbleWobble. Check VRto3D ReadMe for instructions
Known Issues
- Sometimes an effect will get broken temporarily, but if you open/close the menu or move around a bit, then it should fix itself
- If using mouse for controls in multi-display mode, the cursor can escape the game window when navigating menus in-game
In-Game Settings:
- DLSS swap for DLSS4 needed - see instructions below
- Disable Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Chromatic Aberration/Lens Effect, Film Grain
- Leave FoV on the "0.0" setting
Here's a video showcasing the settings I use on a 2080ti. Ignore the black borders as they're fixed now
UEVR Settings:
- Run UEVR in OpenXR or OpenVR mode for this game
You will need:
- VRto3D setup for your 3D display here
- Download this UEVR profile
- DO NOT RENAME THIS PROFILE ZIP OR UEVR WILL NOT WORK. THAT INCLUDES IF WINDOWS ADDS (1) ETC
- Follow the general UEVR instructions for installation and launching a game below
The instructions are also available on GitHub
it crashes on UERV inject.
ReplyDeleteAre you using the nightly UEVR or the main release version? For the main release version, OpenVR injection mode may crash, so use OpenXR mode. I updated the instructions to recommend OpenXR mode as the default. I just checked the latest nightly and it's still injecting without crashes.
DeleteHi OneUp03,
ReplyDeleteI run into the same issue as the other Anonymous, crashes each time UEVR injects. The main release version just crashes immediate before Steamvr open versus the nightly version does launch Steamvr then crashes the game. Tried both OpenVR and OpenXR mode as well.
I installed it on a 2nd PC and it works fine here. Let's try to troubleshoot some.
DeleteDo you have VRto3D installed and working for a basic VR game like Google spotlight stories?
Did you import the UEVR profile for Hogwarts?
Are you seeing a black screen on the 2d game window? This is intentional to save GPU resources. The game should display fine in the 3D headset window.
Are you trying with a 3DVision display or some other kind?
runs quite well with a 2080ti and 3dvision, but... I don't understand why the GPU performance is only between 20-30%. It also doesn't really make a difference whether I change the render resolution in the "default_config.json" to 900p or 1440p. SteamVR overlay always shows 33ms, which makes me think that it is somehow locked at 30fps. I should probably read more about the topic, but maybe someone has a quick tip. I give a big thank you to the people who are finally making it possible to play DX12 games in 3D
ReplyDeleteTry updating VRto3D to v3.1.0. I found that asynchronous reprojection wasn't getting disabled
DeleteThese look sick!
ReplyDeleteCan this be used to play on a 3D Vision monitor (not VR headset)?
ReplyDeleteIn the notes section: "3DVision hardware is playable on latest drivers thanks to WibbleWobble. Check VRto3D ReadMe for instructions"
DeleteI had installed it before, and it worked fine, but that was when the mod came out. Back then, it didn't have the wibble wobble, I think. Now it doesn't work for me anymore. If 3D is off, the game starts, but as soon as I enable 3D, Hogwarts won't start. It does that for a moment but then shuts down again without an error message. I've gone through the installation instructions twice now, but unfortunately, to no avail.
ReplyDeleteTry removing the fix entirely, maybe do a complete clean reinstall of game. Then without adding anything, see if enabling 3D Vision makes game crash at start. If that seems to be the case, it's probably 3D Vision trying to jump in and make it stereo, although for this game, that's not likely because it's DX12. It would possibly be worth deleting the driver profile for the game, if it's trying to enable stereo.
DeleteIf you're trying to use the old SbS to 3DVision method, I would recommend updating to using wibblewobble for 3DVision hardware. Recent versions of VRto3D don't support SbS to 3DVision anymore as it is more complicated and has compatibility issues with new Nvidia drivers and regular 3DVision causes games to crash. Maybe do a clean SteamVR install as described in VRto3D troubleshooting. The wibblewobble method manually activates 3D mode without 3DVision and this doesn't have those compatibility issues.
DeleteI'm still hoping to see that get added to Geo-11 😉
Hey, thanks for the advice. I did a complete reinstall of the game /vr/uevr/ and deleted the files I knew I had to. But I probably made a mistake somewhere. I've now researched this "WibbleWobble" a bit more and managed to get the game running in Windows 11 with driver 566.36. Thanks to "DugomFirst" for the article "I've tried WibbleWobble for 3DVision with SteamVR+VRto3D+UEVR! No driver or graphic card limitation!" on MTBS3D.
