3D Vision and geo-11 fix for Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. It assumes that you are playing the 64 bits version (on GOG there is a separate installer for 32 and 64 bits).
Update (2024-06-16): added geo-11 fix. Enabled software mouse cursor shader to align it with the depth of menus.
Fixed
- Water and ground reflections.
- Lighting and shadows that were at screen depth.
- Lighting on characters.
Installation
- (geo-11 fix, with build v0.6.164): download this file and extract its contents in the "Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom\x64" folder, where "Launcher64.exe" is. Remember to edit "d3dxdm.ini" to change your "direct_mode" to the output you need. For 3D Vision modes, "nvidia_dx9" doesn't work, and I can't test "nvidia_dx11".

- IMPORTANT: at least for the GOG version, disable the GOG Galaxy overlay. It will make the game crash.

- Launch the game.
Hotkeys
- F3 or XB_RIGHT_THUMB: convergence presets (0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 0.865, 1, 1.25). 0.865 is the default value.
- F4: some bloom related blurriness toggle. Not disabled by default. I don't recommend turning this off, because it can make some effects more pixelated.
- F5: bloom toggle. Not disabled by default.

ReplyDeleteTaking screenshots doesn't work if using video driver 452.06, only 425.31. Can you please fix this?
ReplyDeleteStrange. I see this as well, and it's broken on all games, not just this one. I'm nearly certain this was working on 452.06 at some point. Might be worth trying a clean DDU of the driver.
DeleteNice to see some mods for the game. Do you think making dungeon progression less linear would be easy to implement?
