Divinity Original Sin 2

UPDATE 10/14/2017
- Included Profile in d3dx.ini, so no need to mess with game profiles
- Two extra shaders fixed

Issues fixed:
- Shadows
- Lights
- Special effects
- Decals
- Hud at depth

Thanks To

Helifax: For the profile and work on HUD elements in DOS 1 that I copied; and for two extra shaders fixes :-)
Bo3b: For help with fixing incorrectly compiled light shaders

How to install:
1. Download this file DOS2
2. Copy the content in "Divinity Original Sin 2\bin"
3. Play the game.

Key Presets:
Convergence

The profile comes with three convergence presets (4.0, 120.0 and 16.0)
- Use the "z" key to cycle between them

Hud Depth
The HUD depth is controlled from d3dx.ini file by:
- There are also 4 'multiplier' presets for this (0.15, 0.3 ,0, -0.15)
- Use the "[" key to cycle through them

    3. I saw your comments via email, does this mean that you got it working?

For this current fix, you want to use Geforce 3D Profile Manager.

It might be possible to just edit the d3dx.ini and uncomment the lines (remove semicolon) in the [Profile] section:
      StereoProfile = 1
      StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004008

It can be a bit of a pain to get these set up and working. Once you learn how the tools work, it gets easier, and anything you learn is useful for other fixes.

  7. Hey all! I think this blogspot is amazing first off, you guys are some serious techies, and I like that.

Any hooters, just got my 3d vision 2 yesterday, and installed this fix, but it seems I'm running into some difficulties. It displays the intro credits and main menu in 3d, but I can't see the main background images, and when I loaded the game the screen was all black.

I'm not sure if this is common behavior, or something I can fix. Let me know what type of info you need to troubleshoot more.

    Thanks,

    Thedude.

    1. I had the same problem. However, it was normal after completing the profile registration process as described in the linked address.

    2. Could you provide more details on this registration process please? I still have the black screen issue myself.

      Thx

    3. I second this query. I don't see any linked address.

  9. Hey Mike - 3DMigoto now has built in support to change the driver profile. You can copy & paste that profile (but leave out the two corrupted SettingString lines) right into the [Profile] section and it will work.

    1. BTW one of those settings you have changed looks wrong:
      Setting ID_0x00c96f61 = 0x0000000f InternalSettingFlag=V0

InternalSettingFlag=V0 means the setting is encrypted, but an encrypted setting shouldn't have that many 0s. You might be getting away with it because only 3D Vision settings are usually encrypted, and that isn't a 3D Vision setting - so if you put that in d3dx.ini you may need to remove the InternalSettingsFlag from that one otherwise 3DMigoto will try decrypting it and probably corrupt it in the process.

    2. Same with Setting ID_0x003846a8 = 0x0000000f InternalSettingFlag=V0

      Delete
    3. Would this be why the game won't save custom convergence?

      Delete
    4. If it's not saving custom convergence than that means the profile is missing the all important "StereoProfile=1" (this is all documented in the d3dx.ini)

      Delete
    5. I'm not sure actually - "Setting ID_0x701eb457 = 0x2241ab21 InternalSettingFlag=V0" decrypted is "StereoProfile=1"

    6. Ahh thanks for the response, now I read through the profile section starts to make sense a bit. But when I tried to manipulate profile and set it in the .ini I just crashed the game so much be doing thing wrong. Setting that flag at least enabled me to set custom convergence. So I will wait to see if Mike gets a handle and updates the file, but it's working perfect for me now regardless.

  10. Profile "Divinity Original Sin 2" name does not work, either (at least on my setup). Had to use DOSEE name instead (and content of DOSEE profile seems to work OK, also). See 3D Forum topic for more discussion.

Finished prologue, fix looks superb so far. Thanks for the great work, mike_ar69!

  13. can't change the profile... A lot of people have the same problem. When I export the profiles in *.txt format, replace the profile with new one and try to import edited .txt I get an error: "ERROR: There was a problem importing the settings from disk." (GeForce 3D Settings manager). And another error if I try to import txt in Nvodia Profile inspector: "Profile(s) could not imported!" Can someone export edited profile in "nip" format with NVIDIA Profile Inspector 2.1.3.9? It has a feature "Export current profile with predefined settings" - it works well when I try to import.....

    1. Make sure you delete the "nvdrssel.bin" file as per the geforce profile manager instructions. You will also get this error unless you run it as administrator with a right click. I don't know why but I have to reimport the profile from the first game to get it to work without a black screen every time I restart my computer. it's annoying but it works

  14. Can anyone export edited profile of this game in *.nip format?
It can be done with NVIDIA Profile Inspector 2.1.3.9 (download from here: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Orbmu2k/nvidiaprofileinspector/build/artifacts).
step 1: choose divinity original sin 2 profile in the upper left corner (label "profiles")
step 2: press export button (green arrow facing up) and choose "Export current profile including predefined settings"

    2. Anybody try changing the Profile section of the d3dx.ini?

It might be possible to just edit the d3dx.ini and uncomment the lines (remove semicolon) in the [Profile] section:
      StereoProfile = 1
      StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004008

      Delete
    3. yes, I have tried just inserting the content of Profile "Divinity Original Sin 2" specified in the main post into [Profile] section of the d3dx.ini, and also setting StereoProfile and StereoFlagsDX10 options to the values that you provided in the comment - and it works the same as importing profile using Geforce 3D Profile Manager tool.
      Thanks!

    4. Алексей, не могли бы вы выслать мне на почту (ale.alexandr собака майл ру) отредактированный d3dx.ini? Уже запарился с этим профилем.... Благодарю заранее))

    5. G-Translate: "Alex, could you please send me an email (ale.alexandr dog mail py) edited d3dx.ini? Already tired of this profile .... Thank you in advance))"

  15. Alexandr - did you see my comment above? The suggested DOS2 profile DOES NOT WORK, and any attempt to import it will generate an error. Add/import DOSEE profile instead. Works great for DOS 2, outstanding 3D fix!

  16. Anyone knows what I might be screwing up?

The game fires up in 3D but the hud seems messed up, as in it gets cut off on the left and right sides.
Also when I try the different convergence and hud depth options nothing seems to be happening.

The convergence won't change at all, I just see the shaders switching positions(if this makes any sense ?)

  18. I have been able to make the fix work with the 3Dfix manager, but am I the only one who doesn't have any water in the river's beds? Did I do something wrong, or is it Larian studio with an update they messed with the fix?

  19. the fix doesn't work for me , the menus are in 3d but nothing else appears , the game only shows a black screen and menus, anyone else had this behavior.

this is the only game un 3d with this problem

    1. That seems like the profile might be busted, or the driver. Black screen with some items drawing is usually something gone wrong with the 3D heuristics on what should be drawn. Nowadays, almost always compute shaders.

Try reinstalling your driver, using DDU and clean. If you are on FallCreatorsUpdate, it has known problems like this and should be skipped.

  20. If you have issues with 3D portions of the game not working (showing black or plain colors), even though the HUD shows fine, this means that the profile didn't install correctly. There's information in the 3DVision forum thread on how to update the profile:

  21. PSA, GeForce 3D Profile Manager is not working with Nvidia driver 391.01. I don't know if this is a universal issue, just wanted to save someone else the wasted hours trying to figure out why the profile Manager isn't working. I reverted back to 390.77 and it works just fine.

  22. Anyone still having issues with the black screen you must import this profile with geforce 3d manager. No idea why the profile doesn't appear to work through the .ini

  23. Does not work anymore with definitive edition :(

    Replies
    1. No surprise there. All the remastered versions for XBone and PS4 switch to use DX11, which means someone would need to completely redo the fix. That is unlikely to happen here, so best bet is to continue to play the DX9 version. 3D is way more impressive than the changes they made.

    2. anyone knows if there going to be a new version of the fix for the definitive edition?
