Finally and first! Thank you so so so much for this fix, you guys are great love ya.
ReplyDeleteHuge thanks guys and specially DarkStarSword, thanks for keeping the 3d dream alive!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
ReplyDeletethank you for all the work, now it's the wins
ReplyDeleteYour amazing dude !! Thank you
ReplyDeletethank you guys.. but anyone but me get a wrong depth landscape?
ReplyDeleteI have this as well. The landscape renders at a closer distance than other objects.
DeleteThat means that the fix has not been installed correctly. That's the default view of the game, that is fixed by our shader hacking.
DeleteOr, check NOTES. DOF *must* be at normal. See comments three down.
OMG... Finished the game in Compatibility Mode week ago... Cry...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fix, as always :)
thank you so much, have the wrong landscapes too
ReplyDeletemy fault, not changed the DOF
Deletebig thanks again
Disable DOF and disable Fake3D (compatibility mode) using CTRL+ALT+F11
DeleteAlso always include a screenshot..is easy to know what happens.
Also, if you are using win10....use win7
Deletewin10 is not a 3D gaming OS (atm)

ReplyDeleteBig thanks - you're making our dreams come true :)
ReplyDeleteGreat! 3D and 4K, game is very smooth, thanks :D
ReplyDeletelooks awesome. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteBig-big thanks for this patch, I was waiting for this ... The game is amazing in 3d! I love it! Thanks!

ReplyDeletewhere to insert files?
ReplyDeleteafter installation of files there was the wrong positioning as on the map the cursor, and effects were displaced
ReplyDeleteMake sure you have disabled compatibility mode with ctrl+alt+f11 (requires advanced keys enabled in the nvidia control panel). If that doesn't fix it provide a 3D screenshot (Alt+F1) showing the problem.
Deletewhere I can load the 3D Screenshots ?
Deletehttps://www.3dvisionlive.com/ is a usual spot.
DeleteIt might be better to post them directly to the forum though. (Click paperclip icon, after you make a post).

That happens because same textures in the HUD are used in the Target icons and others, The fix privilege gameplay rater that some map. If you don't like how look the map, you can use Compatibility mode.....or use the Target icons at screen depth (you can cycle with "P" key).
Deletein any option to me with these files not to play ((. it was necessary to play on native setting up files
Delete@DHR implementing scene detection in 3DMigoto has been on my TODO list for a while, which might help here to detect when the map is displayed. I'll bump it up on my priority list a bit.
DeleteWill be great!
DeleteGuys, I have a 3D Vision 1 kit and a BenQ XL2420T monitor which supports Lightboost. Since Lightboost apparently only works with version 2 glasses, I'm wondering if I should get a used pair of version 2 ones (without the emitter)... they would cost 1/3 of what I paid for the 3D Vision 1 kit.
ReplyDeleteSo, my questions are: is it worth paying 1/3 of kit value to have Lightboost?
And would it be activated automatically with the 3D Vision 2 glasses whenever I launched the game, or how would I activate it?
Thanks!
No, that's wrong. Lightboost works fine on v1 glasses. LightBoost is part of the monitor, not the glasses.
DeleteAsk this question In the Forums, or better yet, do a google search for this. This isn't the place for general questions.
The 3d vision 2 glasses will help with crosstalk/ghosting though.
DeleteHello, first off, thanks for your great fix
ReplyDeleteas I'd like to take screenshots without HUD, please, may this mod http://madmaxmods.com/mods/toggle-hud/ be combined with your fix?
thanks
Marco

DeleteSorry....I thought in the first place will work copy-paste .txt files and add the lines for presets in the d3dx.ini.....but i use iniparams x and y, sames as the HUD MOD.....so will take more time to change those iniparams. You can try it yorseld, you already edit the shaders with if statemens and iniparams.
DeleteDHR, thanks for trying to help me, but not being an expert, I'm willing to try, yet I need a little more detailed suggestion ....
DeleteDon't worry....i will add a preset in the next update to play with no HUD (on/off), may look nice in some scenes (specially to take clean screenshots in photo mode)
Deleteamazing in 3D
ReplyDeletethe cutscenes are terrible, all in the wrong depth
ReplyDeleteforget it, i changed the convergence and it is good now.
Deletethe game looks amazing, the only other game i played that looked this good was tomb raider. anybody has any other game that looks this good to recommend?
List is a little out of date, but: game list.
DeleteIs there a way to fix the tail lights at night?
ReplyDeleteMy english it isnt very well, but when i try to run the game, apears the message of stop working
ReplyDeleteIt's working for other people, so it must be something with your setup. What OS, and driver are you using? Do you use SLI?
Deleteover a year late, but I have the same problem, maybe it's a graphic setting.
Deletewin10/latest drivers (always)/no sli
Just tested this again, and it seems to be working fine. Win10 1803, Driver 388.71. Launches without any problems, and goes into 3D mode as well.
DeleteIf it's crashing at launch, you'll need to do some testing, like uninstall the fix with uninstall.bat, and verify the game files and your OS. The usual troubleshooting you'd do.
Thank you so much!!! You guys actually make a difference to this technology and help us make use of our hardware when nvidia abandoned us!! I dont know what else to say except all the good you guys do will come back to you guys. Im very impressed and surprised at the fact that there are people out there who put in their precious time and share it with other people out of the goodness of their heart. Not for money!! thanks again. You guys are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your great work.
The Witcher 3 Helix patch is amazing but halo and ghost effect appear on Mad Max, I don't understand...
Look at this here : http://www.3dvisionlive.com/node/29820
Thanks.
Doesn't seem like the fix is installed correctly. Is there any change in the visuals from when fix is installed to when it is not?
DeleteBe sure you are using Normal DOF in the video settings.
DeleteAlso disable Compatibiliy Mode.
I did this... :/
DeleteSure, when it is not installed that works in compatibility mode and 3D is really less good ! :/
ReplyDeleteI only extract patch files where .exe is located...
Set calls=1 in the d3dx.ini and see if a log file is created. That will ensure it's loading the code.
DeleteAlso would be worth doing a clean uninstall.bat of the fix, then reinstall it fresh.
I changeg calls=1 but no log file is created, I changed uninstall.bat too but this is the same. :/
ReplyDeleteSorry, a 3d11.log.txt and nvapi_log.txt was created !
ReplyDeleteNone ?
ReplyDeleteHello, when I'm using this fix and disabled 3D compatibility by pressing ctrl+alt+f11 I cannot see anymore my map or the menu :s
ReplyDeleteIn fact I cannot see any HUD
DeleteMy bad... I just had to press "L"
DeleteJust an fyi re: Surround
ReplyDeleteI tried forever to get this working on Win7 w/ 3x980, then 3x980ti and gave up as didn't want to waste anyone's time as I knew my side hardware/software issue.
I was just fiddling around on my dual boot machine, now 2x980ti.
Surround works PERFECT!, Win 10 v1607, 2x980ti, WHQL369.09, bezel corr 5960x1080. Didn't try Win7 again, it works on this as is :-)
3 card issue?, who knows...
Thanks for the fix, again!!, time to clear the map :)
thank you very much for the fix, i need help, i want to enable sbs mode in this game, i followed the guide written by joker18 in the 3d vision vision forum (https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/912552/3d-vision/modifying-3d-vision-to-support-sbs/4/) but every time i start the game it crashes, i used 3Dmigoto-1.2.43.zip driver 372.54 thanx and keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteMad Max had some complications with the SBS support, but I was able to resolve them - make sure you are using the d3dx.ini excerpt from the latest version of 3DMigoto (the important part for Mad Max is the "no_view_cache" option in the line "o0 = set_viewport no_view_cache bb")
Deletethax for the fast reply, what do you mean by "make sure you are using the d3dx.ini excerpt from the latest version of 3DMigoto" do i need to use the d3dx.ini from the 3dmigoto and the one in the fix? and where do i find the "no_view_cache" option ? thank you and sorry for my english ^^
DeleteThe text you paste into the d3dx.ini (the lines from the [Present] section onwards) is supposed to be copied from the d3dx.ini shipped with the latest version of 3DMigoto, but if you followed an old guide you might have used an old version of that text without some of the workarounds we need for certain games like this one.
Deletethank you very much for your help it worked, and mad max on big screen in 3d is amazing^^, in addition to what you said there is a (,) before the line (run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS) that must be removed to activate the sbs mode.
Deletesbs/tab not working for me. Everytime I remove the ; from the CustomShader3DVision2SBS line, the game crashes. I've tried everything. I have already pasted the [Present] section onwards. I'm using 3dmigoto 1.2.48 dll's. Is there something I'm missing? Noob question: Will both versions(x32/x64) of 3dmigoto work???
DeleteIs there a way to get this working with SweetFX? I'm new to this but it's looking like SweetFX set up recognises Mad Max as running in directX 9. But this is for directX 11?
ReplyDeleteuse sweetfx 1.5.1 , it's more simple than reshade . I'm reloading mad max right now and i gonna test it in a couple of hours but there was no problem last time i used both dll
Deletei have a problem when i use this fix with SBS/TaB: it works with 3dmigoto 1.2.42 but the color are blue instead of yellow/orange . In Dark Souls3 , i have the same problem , but not in Dirt Rally which runs pretty well with SBS option . Anyone have encountered this problem and find a solution ?
ReplyDeleteThe latest nvidia driver broke this (v. 373.06). This is on win10 with a GTX 970. Was working perfectly before the update (369. something...). Please fix if you have time! Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteNEVERMIND I had to setup 3d vision again after update.
DeleteHiya.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I posted here or somewhere else but I cant see my posts from a while ago.
So ill start again.
Basically I have never had a problem with 3D vision activating before.
I had this game setup and running fine a while ago.
I left it as I have plenty of other games to finish first.
Now when I launch the game 3D will not activate even pressing ctrl+t does nothing.
Games set to fullscreen 3D vision setup properly working with all other games etc.
I have reinstalled the game many times something is just messed up.
Funny thing is right now if I don't install the wrapper I still get no emitter firing up or a NVidia text alt+enter still nothing.
But if I install the wrapper the game crashes at the very start when Max jumps off that little cliff edge and the game actually starts.
If I start that part without the wrapper and save it I'm sure it will work after that but still 3D just wont initiate.
I'm on windows 10 with the latest updates anniversary etc.
I'm sure other people have these updates and the game.
Tried different drivers everything.
One thing I noticed is when I start the game its in fullscreen but I can see my mouse curser on the screen which is a bit suss.
It would be good if I could find a setting file that has force fullscreen mode or similar just to rule that out 100T%.
Thanks if anyone can help :).
I had lots of problems with this game too. I think initially you should try update 3dmigoto dll's to the new version and see what it happens. This trick solved my problems with the game.
DeleteI cant get Stereo 3D to activate even with no fix wrappers installed.
ReplyDeleteIt worked fine when I first installed it.
I think I have tried just about everything I can think of its so frustrating.
Yes, that's the first step, make sure it works without any fix installed.
DeleteFor DX11 games, they must be run in fullscreen mode. Borderless fullscreen will not allow 3D to kick in. If you aren't getting it to kick in, start disabling other junk on your system, like overlays, other wrappers, things that might jack around with window positions or sizing.
One that I ran across that caused a different game to fail for me was TeamViewer. They add a stupid widget to every title bar, which broke fullscreen rendering.
Thanks "bob3b"
ReplyDeleteBasically what I have tried reinstalling many times fresh no wrapper nothing added into the game Dir.
Fullscreen is set in game and I have worked out its definitely loading in full screen.
Alt+enter minimize try again etc.
I tried disabling Fraps msi afterburner monitoring.
I have minimal programs installed and running I don't use TeamViewer anymore or LogMeIn.
In game settings I have tried using DSR changing resolutions NVidia settings I have restored to default didn't do anything.
Different drivers.
I used NVidia inspector changed all Stereo settings force stereo shuttering on.
Even tried deleting the profile and using the wrapper.
Also tried deleting the .exe and adding It again using the same profile just to see if I could get it to force compatibility mode on.
one thing I noticed is in graphics settings resolution 1920x1080 @60hz.
If I change it to 119hz it saves but after a restart its back to 60.
However I'm getting 120fps in non 3D obviously.
So I'm still at a loss.
But its definitely in full screen. Set in game and also as I mentioned I alt+enter.
Even tried windowed borderless then alt+enter just because I don't know what else to try.
But I can definitely tell the difference between windowed and borderless obviously.
Every other game no problems.
Thanks.
Maybe try forcing full screen with 3Dmigoto. Use the "full_screen=1" Already in d3dx.ini, remove the semicolon.
DeleteAnother thing that might be worth trying is to delete the game settings under %USERPROFILE%\Documents\WB Games\Mad Max\Backup Saves\Settings.sav
DeleteIn fact, you should probably try renaming the whole WB Games folder out of the way in case there is a filesystem permissions problem there.
There's also a second settings file under \settings.ini
Ahh, damn blogger messed up that comment - the second settings file is under *path to game*\settings.ini
DeleteYou can try enabling the forced full screen support in the d3dx.ini to see if that helps (search for full_screen), but AFAIK no one else has needed that for this game so there must be something odd going on. Alt+enter won't tell you anything - you can usually tell if it is using real full screen or fake full screen by pressing the windows key in the game - if you can still see the game behind the start menu it is fake full screen.
ReplyDeleteThanks guy's.
ReplyDeleteWell I had already messed with the setting's file in the game directory.
I changed Fullscreen=2 to 1 then 3 just to see if it done anything which it didn't.
I changed refresh rate from 60 to 119.
Didn't do anything.
It was working fine when I installed it a few months ago just tested it for a few minutes then had some other games to finish then it just wouldn't work in 3d anymore.
I cant even get it running without the fix.
So from your advice I just installed the fix removed the semicolon from fullscreen=1 in the migoto file.
I thought for a second it worked as the screen took longer to become unblack but no still started in 2d.
Also just deleted the saves/settings.sav files in documents didn't do anything.
I only mentioned alt+enter because once its loaded if I press them it will go into either window mode or minimize then alt+enter again I know its in fullscreen.
Its definitely in fullscreen somethings just messed with it on my system out of no where.
I know the first thing I did when I installed windows 10 was upgrade to the anniversary edition to get it upto date and that's when I tested it and it worked.
I tried different ssd drives reinstalling fix no fix all these tweaks forcing fullscreen on nothing.
Nvidia profile inspector forcing stereo on.
I have reinstalled this at least 20 times now its literally done my head in :(.
Thanks for the help again appreciate it.
Also.
ReplyDeletein graphics is it supposed to be 60hz or 119?.
Just one more thing I have been trying out.
If I set it to 119hz it saves but once I restart its back to 60.
I don't know if this has an effect on the 3d initiating.
In the settings file in the game directory I set it to 119hz but in game it still says 60 and didn't make a difference.
Plus its running at 120fps and Vsync is set on in game.
DeleteNo idea haha.
Really not sure why you aren't getting 3D to kick in for this game. Try using DDU to do a complete clean driver reinstall and see if that helps: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
DeleteYeah I have used DDU everytime I reinstall/update.
ReplyDeletePlus I use Ccleaner and remove anything else left over.
I have gone complete OCD over this now I'm changing just about every setting for the profile in NVidia inspector now which of course does nothing so I have reverted all the settings.
So frustrating used 3d profile manager saved the .txt I'm looking right at the MadMax profile txt and thinking how can it not be loading.
It even say's executable MadMax.exe my game .exe is madmax I even renamed the file to match the profile but no still nothing.
Great I have a game that worked in 3D when I originally installed it now no matter what I try it wont work.
Ill never play another game in 2D.
:(
Can you tell me the exact version and build number of Windows 10 you are running? Press Win+R and type winver to find it.
DeleteAlso the exact version of the nvidia driver.
DeleteFWIW the game is working fine for me on Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.576 with nvidia driver 376.33. Exclusive mode full screen works and 3D Vision engages.
DeleteI can also confirm that it's working fine on Win7. Mad Max is not particularly special, we have not had an reports of trouble with it, nor was it difficult to get 3D engaged originally. (hard to fix, but not hard to start)
DeleteIf 3D is not engaging in this game, no fix installed, but other games are working OK, then assign one of those working profiles to the madmax.exe. That puts a known good profile in place.
Thank you really for this great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThis game looks simply stunning in 3d with the fix. My jaw hit the floor many times in my first hour playing. 9 hours in I am loving it. Not one issue with this profile. I love that I can hide the hud too great addition
ReplyDeletewhy is the game gamma so dark. when i turn off 3d vision (ctrl T) i can set the gamma to 0 and its perfect. then when i activate 3d vision the game practically goes black until gamma is at 80. is this normal or what gives? looks great by the by!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds reasonably normal, although it seems like a larger change than usual. When you activate 3D Vision, the glasses shutter 120 times a second, going completely black in alternate eyes. That acts like sunglasses. So in 3D, with 'sunglasses' on, you'd expect to need to dial up the gamma or brightness. Depends a lot upon the glasses and monitors used. BTW, this is the point of LightBoost monitors. They automatically brighten when in 3D, so you don't need to manually change it.
DeleteI am not sure whether anyone would still be paying attention to this thread, but I am wondering whether anyone can offer any advice as I cannot get this fix to work at all. When I install it straight from the zip I can get the game into 3D mode fine, but there are massive issues, Max has white hair, and there are weird lines and artefacts and halos everywhere, just completely messed up and unplayable. If I run just with a plain install of 3Dmigoto with no shader fixes then none of these issues are apparent, the only obvious issue visible at that stage (in the workshop) is some kind of ghosting/halo effect around Max.
ReplyDeleteHas a newer Nvidia driver, or something in Windows 10 completely broken these shader fixes? Is there anything that I could try to get it to work properly as it apparently used to? I would also love to play in Top and Bottom mode, but that is even more broken as it seems to split the bottom half of the screen indefinitely with a whole set of increasingly smaller splits of the bottom halves.
Many thanks for any advice anyone is able to offer.
in nvidia control panel go to set up stereoscopic 3d. Click on set keyboard shortcuts and check enable advanced in game settings. You will see toggle 3D compatibility mode is Ctrl+Alt+F11. click ok. when game is open and loaded make sure you ctrl+alt+f11 to disable compat mode. Also make sure depth of field (DOF) is set to normal.
DeleteSorry, addendum to this, turns out I had compatibility mode on before. Unfortunately when I turn compatibility mode off things are really messed up - Max vanishes completely and the rest of the scene is completely distorted. Is this fix just too out of date?
DeleteSorry greenmafia, didn't see your reply before I added mine. So, yes compatibility mode was on, but turning it off really breaks it. Note I do also have DOF set to Normal so that isn't the reason.
DeleteAlso make sure you have your "convergence" ability enabled in the Nvidia Control Center, as I recall, you have to tap the convergence once to have it kick in correctly. I was actually going to reload this soon, but will sooner now and test. Reverting later tonight on current Win10 machine. Fun game and truly appreciated the fix by DHR.
Deleteand-- BIG THANKS to DarkStarSword!!! for making this fix possible :-)
Delete@Alex, just tested and the fix is still perfect with:
Delete>>Win10 Pro, V.1703, OS Build 15063.632 - in other words current Win10
>>(single) GTX 1080 ti Driver 384.94 - No steam overlay, no GF Experience etc. - 1920 x 1080
Might want to run through the Posting here:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/872839/?comment=5165563
Also, fwiw, the fix is now working in Surround again! 2 x 1080ti, 5960 x 1080 bezel corr. I gave up on surround for this last year. Who knows why, but works great.
Thanks,,, :-)
@djb: Thanks for testing that and letting us know it's still working. Saves me the effort of setting up and testing.
Delete@bo3b, I like when I can help on what can :-) Certainly appreciate all yours! Take care,
DeleteOkay, now I feel like an idiot, turns out all I had to do was hit 'O' to switch the convergence setting. Not sure why it is so totally borked on the default setting, but works beautifully once switched over. I am now running it in glorious 1080p TAB 3D and it looks fantastic. Thanks so much for the support and for the fix!
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble getting this working. As soon as I launch the game, I go to settings and I don't see any options. Everything seems broken.
ReplyDeleteJust tried this again, and it's working correctly here. Win10 1803, Driver 418.81. Only problem with the graphics was needing to set depth of field to normal to get smoke in the right spot, otherwise no flaws.
DeleteIf you aren't seeing any settings, game is probably damaged. Worth doing a check of the files. If that doesn't seem like it, try a driver reinstall with DDU.
Installed this using 3D Fix Manager and the visuals are better than without. However, it also seems to kill using gamepad controls. With it installed, it just defaulted to some Steam setup where the gamepad acted as mouse/keyboard.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this years later. I get amazing 3D but there is catch, no UI! Pause menu is fully black and map has no icons. Gonna try to look for a suggestion on forums and tinker with settings as well. This fix + the Geo-11 x64 dlls and force_stereo=2 on main ini was my method.
ReplyDeletesame anon as before. Found a solution on boards by user DerBlob, to get HUD back on I deleted the files on the shader folder that had 'hud' at the top of the document (once opened). Hud not works perfectly and the 3D is badass. Hope this helps you as it helped me.
DeleteHello, could you perhaps mod only some parts of the HUD out? Namely the Mission Waypoints and Mission Objective Notification and Combat Prompts? These are the ones which break the immersion the most. They are even in Settings.ini but fiddling with them doesn't do anything.
ReplyDelete
