Deathtrap

Last Updated:  May 24, 2015

Fixed:
-Various halos
-HUD & UI now have some depth

Remaining Issues:
-Mouse cursor is screen depth (see below)
-Some HUD / UI unevenness

Installation:

64-bit version:
  1. Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game directory "..\Deathtrap\"
  2. In the "..\Steam\" folder, move the file "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll" to a different folder.
32-bit version:
  1. Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game directory "..\Deathtrap\"
  2. Run the game and in the Options menu click on the "Video" tab.
  3. Enable "Force 32"
  4. Click "Accept" and restart the game.

Additional Notes:
  • Press the 'Caps Lock' key to make HUD & UI screen depth
  • If needed, the 'Tab' key has two convergence profiles (the higher convergence profile is for the Level Selection screen)
  • To deal with the screen depth mouse cursor issue, a controller (joypad) can be used instead of a keyboard & mouse.
  • (Recommended)- In the Gameplay tab, disable "Enemy HP bars" and "Allied HP bars".

I utilized Eqzitara's original Van Helsing fix as a template to fix this game.

    1. Hi eqzitara. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I just studied your fix & I saw that the point lights VS & PS were identical to this fix. So I copied over the shaders but unfortunately the point light issues remained. I'm going to study your fix further this weekend.

    2. You were right. I just took a second look at this fix and I realized that I had something disabled in my dx9settings file. Now the lights are fixed. Thanks again eqzitara!

    1. Hi. Try moving "GameOverlayRender.dll" instead. Also, included with the fix, there should be a folder named "32-bit dll". Move "d3d9.dll" from the "32-bit dll" folder to the "..\Deathtrap\" directory (overwrite the existing "d3d9.dll"). Try running the game now and let me know if you are still having issues.

    2. Also, when you run the game, go to the Options menu. Under the Video section, enable "Force32". Click "Accept" and restart the game.

  3. You can add custom resolutions (4K, for instance) by creating a file:
    Deathtrap\Cfg\Resolutions\CustomFullscreen.cfg

Then write something like it within: CustomResolution=3840x2160

This worked for me. Source: https://steamcommunity.com/app/310510/discussions/0/610574106422501718/
