Murdered: Soul Suspect [DX9]
Last Updated: 2/14/16
What this mod does:
- Utilizes Helix's LUA script to fix various shadows & lights
- Fixes fog, reflections & lightshafts
- Disables white outline around the main character & some lens flare effects
- Adds a low convergence preset on the 'Z' key.
- Adds a medium & high convergence preset on the 'C' key.
Remaining Issues:
- Bloom from light sources looks a little incorrect when up close
- Some newspaper clippings have uneven text
Installation:
1) Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the directory "..\Murdered Soul Suspect\Binaries\Win64\"
2) In the directory"..\Murdered Soul Suspect\Engine\Config\", open the file "BaseEngine.ini"
3) Where it says "AllowNvidiaStereo3d=", change it to from False to True. Save the file & exit.
For the Steam Version:
4) In the Steam directory, delete the file "GameOverlayRenderer64.dll".
5) Open the Steam client and in your Steam library, right click on "MURDERED: SOUL SUSPECT" and select "Properties"
6) Click "Set Launch Options"
7) In the box, type -dx9 and click "Ok"

Thanks,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this fix.
ReplyDeleteThanks again 4everAwake, going back to this game now!
ReplyDeleteI just bought this game on a humble bundle, great timing! :) Thanks for the fix.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fix
ReplyDeleteThanks 4everAwake!
ReplyDeleteI remember stop playing this game, because of the constant 2D movies/cinematics every 5 min. Further in game this change somehow...less 2D cinematics every 5 min?
There's still a lot of 2D cutscenes, unfortunately. But I don't think it's as much as the beginning.
DeleteThank you 4everAwake :-)
ReplyDeleteI started this on a laptop traveling/2d, then a little in stock compatibility, then now your fix, makes this truly playable. A trippy game and fun wandering around.
Fwiw, on my surround box it needs Flawless WS, but FWS only seems to fix dx11, not dx9, or I probably need to tweak something. I have a post at wsgf and will report back if I hear.
In any case, still have my H5360 box, so playing on that is probably better anyway!
Take care,
P.S. ...IS better on the H5360 ;-)
DeleteWow, is there anything you can't fix 4everAwake? Amazing, thank you so much!
