What this mod does:
- Fixes shadows, sun bloom, smoke, fire & dust
- Adds a low convergence preset on the 'Caps Lock' key (for cockpit view).
- Places the HUD and UI at a fixed depth. This can be changed in the d3dx.ini file.
- Adds a toggle switch on the period key '.' . Press this to make the HUD and UI screen depth.
Installation:
- Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game directory.
Additional Notes:
- When playing the single player campaign, I recommend turning off player name tags (Setttings > Gameplay > Show Player Names - NO)
- I tested this with all graphics settings maxed-out.
- This fix only works with the 64-bit version of the game.
Looks awesome, I'll have to buy this one !
ReplyDeleteThanks alot, 4everAwake :)
Huge thanks 4EverAwake!
ReplyDeleteGot this one in the library, great fun
Again thanks for all your hard work!
Not sure, but it looks like the smoke and fire are broken again. Tried with & without all fixes and several different profiles.
ReplyDeleteThe fix is currently working for me on the latest game version (v20180629). I also tried on the previos version (v20180621) and it still works. Ensure that you have extracted the fix in the correct directory (for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Wreckfest\Steam\steamapps\common\Wreckfest\ ). Also ensure that you are running the 64-bit version of the game.
DeleteI'm using Windows 7 x64, Geforce driver 397.31
Thank You 4everAwake for this fix :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much...works fine...great job ☺
ReplyDeleteSeems like its broken again, or can someone confirm it works for you, and how you got it to work?
ReplyDeleteThe fix probably needs updating. I'll try to upload a new fix by Friday.
DeleteFix updated
Delete4everAwake!!!!! tried the updated fix. I'm loving it! thank you so much. It looks soo good I almost feel like I have my VR headset on. is there a way to get the names at the correct depth, it helps on Demoderby to see the damage meters.
ReplyDeleteI'm unable to place the name tags at the correct depth. But if you want you can change the depth of the entire HUD. For example, in the d3dx.ini file, under "hud & ui depth", change x to 0.4. And you can press the period key (.) to toggle the HUD to screen depth when navigating menus.

ReplyDeletelast update broke once again the shadows, thank you ;-)
ReplyDeleteDoes it work at this time? How should I take the game to be compatible with geo 11? I couldn't find the instructions for that
ReplyDeleteFix might no longer be perfect, based on comments. But you can try it with geo-11 to see. Basic idea is to install this fix, then replace the dlls with geo-11 dlls. Keep the d3dx.ini. Instructions here.
