Fe (DX11)

Really great game and beautifull!!

Fix:
- Shadows
- Lights
- Reflections
- Light Shafts
- Halo

TB and SBS Mode (optional):
- The game support SBS/TB Mode using 3Dmigoto. Remove the ";" in the  ";include = ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini" of the d3dx.ini. Default TB Mode. F11 to cycle. Also remember to use "HDMI Checkerboard" in the NVCP to remove the 720p limitation.

Instructions:
- Extract where Fe.exe is located (\Fe)
- Start the game, when "Rundll32" prompt appear, press "Yes" (in Win10 this don't appear). This is for the Profile Override needed for this game. In Nvidia overlay you will see "3Dfix by DHR".

  1. Thanks, DHR! 👍
P.S. Tried to find this game on Steam, and no luck 🤔

  2. I gave the fix a try, but I can't get the game to start in 3d. Do I have to do something on origin for it to work? Let me know if there's any information I can send to help find a solution. Thanks!

    1. I thought I'd mention that I have origin in game disabled and have other 3s games on Origin.

I'm running Windows 7, gtx 980 ti. Haven't been able to get it to boot up in 3D once. Weird.

    2. Create a shortcut to the exe and add this in the end -window-mode exclusive

    3. Do I add this to the exe name? Thank you for your help!

    5. It worked! I added it to the end of the target quote. Thank you so much for the fix and the 3D mod!

    6. I have encountered another issue. The info screen in the corner is saying that CM is being forced by 3D fix manager. Is CM the only way to play this game? Sorry for all the questions.

    7. No, you either play CM or with our fix, not both at the same time. You switch modes using ctrl-alt-f11. Leave up the green display info and you'll see different text.

If 3DFM is forcing CM, that's a bug for this game. But also, if you accepted the admin privileges dialog, it should have set CM off by default. So, something is not quite right.

    8. I did accept that profile overide, and I doubled checked in Nvidia expector and there is an Fe - 3d mitigo profile for it. Say I wanted to clean install and do the profile override again, how would I do that? Right now, I have reinstalled the game, installed new drivers, removed the fix via 3d fix manager and manually installed it myself. I see the same green display info saying 3d fix is forcing CM.

I've been using helixmod fixes for years now. I have every game running perfectly. I had an issue in the passed with mordor also not switching out of CM mode when I use the hotkeys (ctrl + alt + f11), so maybe it has to do with something on my end?

    9. I forgot to add that after re installing the game, I can't get the dll dialog to pop up.

    10. I think you accidentially clicked on the "Force CM" checkbox in "Installation" tab. Just untick that box again and Compatibility mode is turned off when starting the game.

    11. Btw in the meantime I've added that Fe starts in exlusive fullscreen mode with 3DFM. I also had the same issue that 3D wasn't kicking in.

    12. @pauldusler: Possibly related, worth mentioning, Win10 1803 forces everything to borderless fullscreen, and breaks our ability to go into 3D. I've needed to use the Compatibility tab setting of 'disable full screen optimizations' for nearly every 3D game.

    13. Thanks for the reply Paul. I thought the same thing so I checked it and the Force CM box was unchecked. I ended up removing 3D fix manager and redownloading it and that seemed to do the trick. Just beat Fe today, and loved the fix. Thanks for the fix DHR and Paul for updating the manager.

    14. @bo3b: Yeah I heard the same thing from several persons in Geforce Forum concerning fullscreen optimiziations preventing to go into 3D. However I'm still wondering why this generally does not happen on my Windows 10 v.1803 installation. Maybe there are also other dependencies? The only game I had to disable fullscreen optimizations so far was Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Anyway there's an option in 3DFM for globally disabling fullscreen optimizations. "Globally" means that as soon as you start the game 'disable full screen optimizations' is checked in Compatibility tab of the game exe.

    15. @pauldusler: Super cool feature there. Takes away one of the pain points in Win10. I've had to set it for all games I've tried recently. Fallout4, TheSurge, AlienIsolation, Homefront:revolution, Dirt Rally, Project Cars, Shadow of War. I'm not sure what makes the difference, could be driver related, could be other Win10 settings like 'game-mode', maybe hardware related. This machine is all new high end parts, fresh install.

I'm mostly using 3D Fix Manager now, and as a general rule I really prefer to do things manually so I know exactly what is happening. Just too good.

  3. So I just turned my computer back on, uninstalled everything, reinstalled it, ran Fe with the exclusive window mode setting in the shortcut and voila it is working perfectly! I have no idea what was causing the CM force, but I'm glad it's not happening anymore. Thank you again to the helixmod crew for everything!
