3D Vision and geo-11 fix for Resident Evil 7 biohazard. Many thanks to everyone that helped with testing, fixing and counseling (Helifax, DarkStarSword, Schwing, Kaimasta, etc).
Update (2023-02-11): added geo-11 fix. Fixed TAA (including the temporal part of reflections), motion blur and interlaced mode in a more proper way. Fixed volumetric lighting clipping. Configured autoconvergence. HUD adjustments. Fixed a lot of other minor problems. Stereoized vignette (if you enable the effect). Autoconvergence configured.
Update (2022-01-11): fixed TAA and interlaced mode, fixed lens flares, stereoized specular reflections better, optimized regexes, improved a part of screen space reflections, and fixed some fog related to volumetric lighting.
Update (2020-04-26): added the "6" hotkey.
Update (2019-12-21): fixed volumetric lighting and an extra effect related to that. Also an approximate fix to fog that comes with it.
Update (2019-03-27): fix updated with 3Dmigoto 1.3.16. Better performance for regex (better loading times of shaders fixed by regex after the first time).
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT UPDATE (2019-03-24): I have updated the fix with a profile setting that avoids crashes. Thank you, Kaimasta, for that setting. Everyone, update your fix!!!!
Fixed
- Shadows.
- Lighting.
- Specular reflections.
- Screen space reflections.
- Skybox.
- Dynamic HUD with three settings.
- Blood and similar effects.
- Haloing.
- Lighting clipping for the most part.
- Volumetric lighting and its clipping.
- Temporal anti-aliasing.
- Interlaced mode.
- Motion blur.
Known issues
- With the geo-11 fix, HBAO+ is currently broken. Use any other ambient occlusion setting instead.
- The main and options menu at the title screen has some clipping. Reduce convergence there to see the text.
- Some remaining lighting (non volumetric) clipping.
Installation
- geo-11: download this file and extract its contents in the "RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard" folder, where "re7.exe" is. Remember to edit "d3dxdm.ini" to change your "direct_mode" to the output you need. It's sbs by default. For 3D Vision monitors, "direct_mode = nvidia_dx11" works in fullscreen, but "nvidia_dx9" doesn't work.

ReplyDeletejust noticed where to donate I WILL BE DONATING!!!!!
DeleteJust finished another RE7 run this time in 3dVision.
ReplyDeleteYour fix is awesome, not a single crash, performances are stellar (rocksolid 144fps at 1080p max settings with a 1080ti) and haven't noticed ANY bug
Great job!
I'm trying to use this mod to remove barrel distortion and vignette. Not for 3d purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is it's not working. Only the hud toggle (F3) works. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hello, your fix works perfectly, yet I cannot take screenshots, either with Steam's F12, or with Fraps
ReplyDeleteany workaround, please?
Alien Isolation and this game are the best showcase for 3DVision
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your Work!!!
Just bought this game - installed this fix via 3DFM - and I feel like I am in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre!! I hate you!! But thanks :-))
ReplyDeleteHey, can u explain what 3DFM is, and also how to play this game in vr, I am confused as to how to use this fix

ReplyDeleteis the gold edition playable?
ReplyDeleteGame just updated, looks like a completely new pak.patch file and now show a link to "Village" on main menu.
ReplyDeleteI extracted the files to the "RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard", there is now a " Resident_Evil_7_3D_Vision_fix" folder there but it's not working in-game for me. Nothing changes when I press the F keys. Can someone please help?
ReplyDeleteYou just downloaded the file, and did not extract it. You want to unzip all the files directly into the game folder, not create a new folder. You might want to use 3DFM or HelixVision to have it all be automatic for you.
DeleteAssuming this doesn't work on latest patch?
ReplyDeleteRT version
Deletegeo-11 fix works on latest version of the game. very nice in bigscreen.
ReplyDeleteHi, PCGamingWiki mentions this tool/mod/hack, not sure how I can refer to it, anyways, all I want is to disable some post-processing, I don't have a 3D Vision Monitor nor glasses, may you explain if your mod can be installed on DX12 version of the game and how to configure it properly? As of now I downgraded to DX11 and now mod does work, but I'm getting 2 separate rendering instacnes of RE7, which I really don't need. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteyou need 3d capable screen/projector or VR to make it work.
DeleteYou have to use the older 3D Vision fix instead, because geo-11 doesn't have a 2D mode.
DeleteThe author of this mod SERIOUSLY needs to mention in the MOD NOTES or README that people who doesn't care about 3D vision SHOULD download the older 3D Vision Fix instead of the latest. Many of us come from PcGamingWiki just wanting to check the post-processing effects options and BOOM, we get two-mirrored screens at once with no information of how to disable it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteSame stuff for DMC5 and the other games.
