The Signal From Tölva

The Signal From Tölva

updated fix version :V1.2
Fix by Rubini based on Steam last version by dec, 26 2019
This fix was not possible without DHR's Unity Universal fix!

The Signal From Tölva (https://store.steampowered.com/app/457760/The_Signal_From_Tlva/ ) is a simple and fun sci fiction open-world first-person shooter set on a distant, haunted, future world. Unlock savage weapons and recruit robots to fight alongside you as rival factions struggle to discover the source of the mysterious signal. Its a beautiful indie game that get not the right attention.

This fix was not possible without DHR's Unity Universal fix, which is included here and make it 99% right just out the box; i just did some hard work on HUD and menus and its ready! The game is at Steam promotion now and is very cheap. This fix is based on Steam version of the game but probably will work on any other, since using the last Official update.

Keys used on the fix:
P: HUD depth

Notes:
HUD,  menus, start screen, cutscenes, maps, gun aim, etc, are all adjusted automatically by the fix.
Note that this is a FPS game, so  low convergence is needed to play the game with eye confort.
Few distant reflection/lights are a bit off, but its barely noticeable.
All max config options can be selected without problems.

Update v1.1:
- fix Bino HUD icons and text at max depth

Bino fix update long explanation: Bino view in this game is really a necessary tool to mark POIs and enemies or just to scout out.  The last game update messed with some HUD hash texture, making them a bit unstable. I tried some settings in 3dmigoto but didn't work. Now when you start the game some icons could be out of sync. Just scan with Bino anything that have a info data and all will be sorted instantaneously and will be there until you restart  the game!

Update v1.2:
- added more two HUD icons (appears only after rank 5 game)

Now the fix is complete! Have fun!

  2. Hey all, for a major performance fix (especially when running at 2160p), add the following to the launch parameters:
    -window-mode exclusive -high
    Also, SLI scales pretty well(although I've not tested the whole game yet) if you add the following to the [Profile] section of d3dx.ini in combination with launch parameters above:
    ;SLI Compatibility
    ; - Hacks
    0x00a06746=0x00010100
    ; DX11 Bits
    0x00A06946=0x2C0120F5
    ; SLI Broadcast
    0x00A0694B=0x0000100A

    Enjoy!

  3. It might just be me, but the link for v1.2 doesn't seem to be working.

  5. Ah-hah! After all that, I saw the message above by djgrege about adding a performance boost (i.e. add "-window-mode exclusive -high" to the launch options). I tried it and everything is working. That is a detail that REALLY should be added to the install procedure above (Actually there isn't one above, but hopefully by now we all know how and where to install a fix...yeah right.)

  7. Blast, I wish I could just edit my posts here. I dunno, I restarted the game and shadows are OK now.

    But very important: add "-window-mode exclusive -high" to startup options in Steam, and the game must be started from Steam, not directly, for 3D to start, at least for me.

    1. Yup, bought this off GamersGate, solely because Rubini made this fix. Thanks man.

      Looks terrific, all working correctly here on max settings. The -high makes for High settings not max, which will be better performance but depends on what you need. The -window-mode exclusive is required for all Unity games. Also typically we need to "Disable fullscreen optimizations" on the game .exe for Win10.

      Next version of 3DFM and HelixVision will include this game with a profile, which does all this stuff for you.

  8. Just noting that I finished this game recently, and fix is still working great. Need to use the -high to get the right shaders, and makes the HUD and aiming really good. Thanks for the fix!
