After being available as work in progress fix for a long time, I decided to release the Risen 3 3D vision fix.
Most 3D issues should be fixed.
What is fixed:
- HUD and crosshair moved to depth
- Halos
- Shadows
- Point lights
- Sun, clouds
- Fog and Sunrays
- Specular highlights
What is not fixed:
- Ambient Occlusion (SSAO, seems to be unfixable)
- Minor issue, can be disabled ingame with F4
Screenshots:
Installation:
- Download and extract this file into the root directory of the game. Just let 3D Fix Manager do the installation as for Steam version the "DX9Settings.ini" has to be in root directory of the game while for non-Steam the file has to be in "system" folder.
- Then install the Risen 3 profile (see below).
How to install the driver profile:
- Let 3D Fix Manager apply the driver profile changes automatically
Required ingame-settings:
- Set "Landscape quality" and "Shadow quality" both to "High" or otherwise shadows are broken
Changelog:
- v1.1: Added some missing shaders and added configuration
- v1.0: Initial release (only available via git)
Credits:
- bo3b for explaining the basics of shader fixing
- DarkStarSword for his help with light and shadow fixes
- HeliX for his dlls
Looks great in windows 7, shadows not working in windows 10, of course you can disable shadows. Nice job on this one!

DeleteJust had a closer look at this. "Shadow Quality" and "Landscape Quality" both have to be set to "High". Otherwise shdows are broken. Maybe on Windows 7 you have all settings on "High" while on Windows 10 you reduced your settings. Unfortunately I can't automate one of these settings as the XML config file has a lot of line breaks. At least "Landscape Quality" has to be set manually when using 3DFM.
