How to change Laser sight/transparency.
ReplyDelete-----------------------------
Click Nvidia control panel.
Set up stereoscopic 3d. Change 3d laser sight. I recommend either the 4th one(50% transparency) which is my favorite, or the very last one which is closest to in-game one. Change transparency if you wish. Then save.
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my english, i'm french, but, it's impossible to fix the wrong depth weapon ?
I looked to into it. I cant figure out a solution yet.
DeleteProblem is... I fixed it but it messes up your hands. Ill let you know if i figure it out
DeleteI uploaded a new version. Weapon should be better. Press , to enable . to disable
DeleteI increased seperation on guns. Then locked it.
Anyone knows how to activate 3dvision on quakelive?
ReplyDeleteDoes it even use directx?
DeleteNo but it is posible tu run on 3d according to some posts from quakelive forums and a video from youtube. My problem is that the site where it was explained how to that is the nvidia forums down for more than two months :\
DeleteYour lucky I am so clever -_o
DeleteI just look for an nvidia forum cache. Game uses opengl, nvidia 3d vision uses directx.
HOWEVER, you can use a wrapper called GLDIRECT. Place it in your browsers main folder. Launch.
Let me know either way.
DeleteI found this http://www.majorgeeks.com/GLDirect_d381.html but it doesnt work because "gldirect unable to connect to pmhelp.sys or sddhelp.sys" i tried to copy pmhelp.sys in several directories and nothing and the sddhelp.sys it supposed to come with the program itself... i dont know, thanks anyways.
DeleteId say wait for forumm but..... yea
DeleteTry MTBS

Nvidia inspector always crash when i try this any idea why? Thx
Nvidia inspector crashes?
DeleteOr does game crash?
If its nvidia inspector, Make sure you are extracting nvidia inspector into a folder and that folder/files are not read only.
DeleteThx a lot for your reply but Nvidia Inspector still crashes (It only happens with hl2.exe very strange), tomorror im going to try driversweeper and a clear installation of the nvidia drivers. Fingers crossed.
DeleteThis also works.
Deletehttp://3dvision-blog.com/1435-aliens-vs-predator-multiplayer-demo-fix-for-3d-vision-users/
when u get it working a new version is up.
DeleteI had the same problem. I updated my Nvidia driver to the latest version and then it worked.
DeleteJust tried it out with this fix and it looks a hell of alot better. Now i can take off this auto aim, since i can actually tell where im shooting now. Thanks for the fix. This site is a life saver for people with 3d vision.
ReplyDeleteGreat work as always from the community. It's kind of sad that Nvidia can't even get their forums back up after more than 2 months so I am glad we have this place for 3D Fixes.
ReplyDeleteI uploaded a version that doesnt suck of the gun depth fixer if your interested.
DeleteThe mines still suck as the hands are in the correct depth but the mines are still in the background.Same with the hands of the rocket and the crossbow i think .Other than this you have made an impresive work, thanks!!!!!
DeleteYour ahead of me. I just got mines and fixed will upload when I get to crossbow. I have to fix each texture.
DeleteGonna check if I can use console and spawn them
DeleteFound the codes. Just uploaded a new version. Thanks for reporting the issues though.
DeleteMines are only one I didnt fix, You leave the same ones on the ground that are in your hands. So if I fixed them Id break all others.
DeleteUploaded new version.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, eqzitara.
ReplyDeleteCould you please make a version which hides the hud completely or makes it transparent (which is the preferred option), since hiding the hud through the console also disables the weapon cycling. Other that that your crosshair profile is effective, the problem is that if I want to hide the hud and leave the crosshair weapon cycling is also disabled, but as compeletely hiding the hud and leaving only the crosshair is probably not an option you could make them transparent, which will suit me just fine :)
I also get a crash through Nvidia Inspector, guess I'll have to try the alternative method.
Best,
Artox
Try other method, hud is connected.
DeleteHard linking also works, but it may seem complicated. I did it for deus ex a while back.
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjbZVu6odFo
If someone "has" to use this method to make the 3dcrosshairs work in black mesa i would very much appreciate a small guide for it.Thx inn advance.
DeleteI'm sorry to bother you again and I to be requesting a feature, which will prove useful only to me, but it would be great if you could make the whole hud transparent then, unless it is actually connected to other sorts of shaders as well.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Artox
Its "Everything". It just wouldnt work.
DeleteToo, bad, thanks anyway. I've tried Bloody's method for the crosshair, downloaded his launcher, renamed the his avp.exe to hl2.exe and the original sdk hl2.exe to masseffect2.exe with the according correction in the ini file. The game launches fine, but sadly the laser crosshair doesn't come up. Guess the only option left is hardlinking.
ReplyDeleteCan you get laser to show up in other games?
DeleteYou are hitting the correct keys right? also try to rebind it to other key.
Yes, of course, it works in other games, and I get the message within the game that the laser sight is enabled. However I've noticed that steam overwrites the renamed hl2.exe with the original as soon as I launch the game, so this method effectively does nothing. Regardless, turning off the hud turns off the laser sight as well (the case in l4d), so I don't care much for laser sight.
DeleteCan you set the file to readonly? Not sure if it would work. Hard linking may be only other option.
DeleteIf you set it to read only steam delete it :( and the game doesen´t start.
DeleteNo clue tbh.
DeleteBorderlands 2 comes out tommorrow, if ur getting it. Play that. Maybe someone will figure out why nvidia inspector ant working for you. You and someone else have same issue.
Excellent work and as always, much appreciated. The game does have some very distracting cross-talk though, even on my 3d vision 2 monitor. Lights in particular. Shame, as otherwise it looks great with this fix.

DeleteF2 to Enable Light glow
F3 to Disable Light glow
Thanks for the great work :)
ReplyDeleteIs there any difference of using the evga precision d3d9.dll besides the .dll taht comes with all fixes? Lastest games (dsark souls, blackmesa) dont work if you not use the evga precision modified dll.
ReplyDeleteGreat Work! From Spain
yea, dont use that anymore its outdated.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deleteit will work with black mesa
DeleteNot sure with darksouls
Wont work with dark siders 2
Helix started using a new version so its outdated pretty much. I dont recommend it right now. I will mark it as outdated later.
Black Mesa and Dark Souls dont work if you dont use the evga precision dll, if you use the dll that comes with the game it doesnt start at least you close evga precision. But if you use the modified evga precison dll this games work with pecision running. So i guess the solution for evga precision users is use the modified dll or close precision when the modified dll doesnt work, right? You know if it happens with msi afterbunner?
DeleteThanks again for your attention, and keep making 3d vision better!
I havent really played around with it, it depends on the game and other app(precision/fraps/msi etc). Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt, same issue happens with out d3d9.dll wrappers like enb/fxaa
DeleteCan i ask you something? How many depth do you usually use when playing games, eqzitara? Do you change it from game to game?
DeleteThanks for your time!
Rarely do I change depth from max(I use dlp so no ghosting regardless).I think mainly monitor users go as high as their display will allow them (I think 3d vision 2 is close to max without ghosting for most games).
DeleteIssues will make me reduce depth but since Helix released his wrapped thats not as often. Since I dont feel the need to play games that bad off. Borderlands 2 hud is a bit too high because of crosshair so I compromise and drop it to 75% and it feels perfect.
Some overhead games I will reduce as well due to the nature of them. Prob 75% ish as well. (Diablo/ etc)
Convergence is what I always change. I like focusing on the character in third person games and first person the weapon. If that helps.
Visual issues that effect me that may not effect you will always make me drop my settings. Like my favorite video game series is Mass Effect. Depth of field/ constant camera changes caused me to reduce my settings alot. Prob. 75% depth but convergence was focused to screen depth.
So yeah, I go 100% almost always. 75% when game has an issue/ I do.
DeleteMy pictures look low depth (btw). I use a projector so it looks very low depth to monitor users.
DeleteGood to know, really helpful, i only wanted to know your opinion about depth. I own a Asus 3d vision 2 monitor and use depth around 90%, and convergence like you, focused on weapon or character, maybe a bit more, i like seeing weapon pop out of the screen.
DeleteThanks again buddy!
Err. I misspoke.
DeleteI like the "tip" of the weapon to be 2D and popout. I like the weapon to pop out in 3D as well. See what I did with the weapons in Black Mesa? Its kind of like that (though the guns were bugged up, they were like on their own plane of existence lol)
BTW, Did u have ghosting in black mesa?
DeleteSome user said he had a lot of ghosting in black mesa but used the same monitor. Which I found odd because they have been getting such high praise.

ReplyDeleteThe fix isn't working for me, seems to have no effect. When I press o or ; nothing happens. I put the files in the correct folder, so thats not the trick. Do i have to download some extra files?
ReplyDelete(ignore previous post i wrote it fast and messed up)
DeleteHave you installed a fix before?
You have to extract the files in each folder. Not sure if that was clear.
\steam\steamapps\YOUR USER NAME\source sdk base 2007\shaderoverride\
\steam\steamapps\YOUR USER NAME\source sdk base 2007\dx9settings.ini
\steam\steamapps\YOUR USER NAME\source sdk base 2007\bin\d3d9.dll
Also this is 3d vision/3d tv play only.
Deletei appreciate your help. But i installed Helix-fixes for other games before and didnt have a problem (of course i'm using 3d vision). I reinstalled Win 7 few days ago so maybe there is a package missing (for example visual c++ etc.) or maybe the new Nvidia-drivers don't work with this fix?!
DeleteNah, its neither of those, I think. Newest drivers and I get that anoying message from steam every game I try(if thats what you mean). Start black mesa up. Alt tab. Delete d3d9.dll. If it let's you its not in a right folder. It should say its in use. Maybe your installation is different or something?
DeleteThis may sound stupid but maybe you took it literally
\YOUR USER NAME\
is whatever the folder for your username is perhaps glacios or whatever.
Also if you have multiple steam accounts make sure \YOUR USER NAME\ is whatever one you are logged into.
DeleteThat was a good hint. I can delete the files without any error. Strange thing is that it is in the correct folder "D:\Steam\SteamApps\glacios\source sdk base 2007\bin\" (i have only one steam-acc). That's weird. Maybe there is a problem with directx?
Deletestart game. ALT-CRTL DELETE. right click on the source base 2007.exe and make sure its
DeleteD:\Steam\SteamApps\glacios\source sdk base 2007\
My only other suggestion. try putting a d3d9.dll in that folder too. It shouldnt work but i dunno why its not working for u
then try a different helix mod game / reinstall dx9
DeleteIt worked! Reinstalling directx did the trick! Thanks man for your help, really appreciated it. Don't know why but it works now.
DeleteI think an early build of direct x 9 didnt support it.
DeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI have tried it but when i start the Game the nvidia driver tells me that i use a stereoscopic 3D Game with a non stereoscopic Display Modus.
I see a doubled Picture, the Glasses are working, but 3D does not work.
Any Ideas for this Problem?
switch to full screen. Switch to a working resolution
DeleteOkay, now i have done a reset to all nvidia standard settings, have done the steps above again and now it works.
DeleteBut now i have an other problem, i cant access the developer console.
Maybe it is because i have a german Keyboard.
I have searched the config.cfg and have changed the toggleconsole Key from ` to F11 but it dont works.
Do you know an other way to get to this console?
Okay, i dont know why, but now the 2d crosshair is gone away without the console command.
DeleteBut thanks for trying to help me!
I installed the mod and I'm pretty sure it is running. The hot keys for weapon convergence, 3D hud, and lights are working. But I am still getting messed up water which sucks cause that is all I really wanted fixed. What could be causing that?
ReplyDeleteWater was never fully fixed
DeleteLowering depth may help. Its only slightly easier to look at then the original water.
DeleteSince this is a free mod, being developed by part time developers, wouldn't it be better to provide feedback to them, to let them know it's not rendering properly?
ReplyDeletei.e. Wouldn't it be better to fix it in the original game, not patch it after the fact?
Created an issue #297 at https://bitbucket.org/bmscd/black-mesa-source/issue/297/graphic-glitches-when-run-in-stereoscopic
DeleteYou would have to contact Valve, since the issues are due to source engine.
DeleteHow do you personally get info for your fresh articles and which search engines do you commonly turn to?
ReplyDeleteHi, im getting broken water reflections.
ReplyDeleteWhen alt+tab and then get back in game, the picture is fine, but in 1 second it brakes again.
I discovered that with removing VS "05FD08B4" (the actual fix for the water i guess) from the "shader override" folder, the problem disappears.
But as soon as i get under the water surface, then reflections gets broken again :/
I wonder what is causing it.
I cant also see water well i have tried everything and cant get it working right any idea out there???
DeleteIts got a lot of issues, was one of my earliest projects. Not to mention half life 2's water is extremely complex. Only option is to remove water fix and see if it improves situation. shaderoverride/vertexshaders/05FD08B4
DeleteI have the same problem the water looks horrible i cant actually look at it because it makes my head hurt. If i delete the files at firt i looks like a plane texture of the enviroment(An improvement) but as fast as i try to swim the problem comes back.......
DeleteThere isnt really a solution unfortunately. This was one of my earliest fixes.
DeleteHi, I have a problem... with 3D enabled my mouse cursor vanishes on the menu screen making it almost impossible to select anything...any fix?
ReplyDeleteHi, is there any way to fix the god awful glitching where the shading on water varies too much between left and right eyes. It makes my eyes bleed and is there with all source engine games. Also relating to water is a glitch between textures above being out of phase with the same texture below the water. both these glitches make it impossible for me to enjoy source engine games in 3D. apart from that you have don an excellent job with your fix.
ReplyDelete(my guess is it is impossible to fix these glitches without Valve giving you the source code for the game engine?)
Hi eqzitara,
ReplyDeleteI've come across while searching for a fix for Half Life 2 on nVidia 3D Vision - the game is amazing, but the cross-hair is awful in 3D - will the above Black Mesa fixes work for Half 2 too?
If not, do you (or anyone else?) have any idea where/how I can get a good 3D cross-hair in Half Life 2?
Thus far the only good result I can find is to disable the in game cross-hair, but this also makes the nVidia cross-hair disappear...
Thank you!
Not sure about half life 2 crosshair. I don't think anyone has got that fixed...
ReplyDeleteBlack Mesa is now on a newer engine. The command to turn the crosshair off has changed. It is no longer crosshair 0, but hud_crosshair_enable 0 This can be input in console or cfg file to turn off the in game crosshair. then press F12 for the nvidia crosshair which works fine in 3d.
Thanks for the tip.
DeleteThis engine should be the same as that for Half-Life 2 now, so it's possible this tip will work in HL2.
hud_quickinfo 0 in the Half Life 2 update mod will remove the non stereoscopic brackets - thanks to developer Filip Victor for that info. Can be input via the console or in the hl2 autoexec.cfg found in hl2/cfg
ReplyDeleteAs I've said in other posts, the work you guys are doing is nothing short of amazing. Your mods are the only thing that have justified my purchase of a nVidia 3D vision 2 kit and 120hz monitor several years ago :) Quick question though... I'm having issues setting the hands/gun convergence with the paid steam version of Black Mesa. I've tried a bunch of different settings based on the text file edit instructions given in the initial post. Is this common or am I doing something wrong? Essentially, I can't get the convergence to change at all regardless of the value I enter. The rest of the fix seems to work as detailed. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteAny fix for the Cascading Shadow Maps for the Paid version. Not a bother to turn them off, but the game does look better with them on...if they worked right in 3d.
ReplyDeleteIn preparation for Half-life: Alyx I was thinking of replaying the first HL in this Black Mesa version.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the current Steam version that I installed is not using a separate install of the Source Base SDK 2007 anymore. Any advice on where to put the two files from this 3D fix. I didn't seem to have put them in the right folder, since the 3Dvision green start screen tells me UNKNOWN GAME.
Thanks!
Got it to work,
ReplyDeleteuse command hud_crosshair_enable 0
the only one that works
Hi, did you fix the UNKNOWN GAME issue? If so, how? Did you have to move files to a special place?
Delete3D Fix Manager asks to switch Profiles with Mass Effect 2. Is this still the way to go?
Also preparing for Alyx. Played HL2 last month and now going for Black Mesa. ;-)
Bobbel: Please let us know how you got it working.
DeleteI've taken a quick look here, and for the current Black Mesa, I'm not seeing any of this still working. I think too much has changed since this was created, and all the hash codes are different in the shaders. 3DFM also installs it incorrectly.
The 'bin' folder is where you'd put the d3d9.dll file, but as noted, I don't think the fix is working anyway. It doesn't fix dynamic shadows, and doesn't seem to fix anything that I can see.
Game is still playable with default profile. The default profile is why you see the 'unknown game' rating. You can set the dynamic shadows to Off, and fix the biggest eyesore. A few lights are still off, but it's playable. If you want to set it up like it was expected, you can set the game to use the MassEffect2 profile using NvidiaProfileInspector. Doesn't seem to matter though.
Just updated the Black Mesa profile for HelixVision, which will be picked up by next 3DFM release. Works now on the VR screen, and is playable.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to set up manually, setup like I note in last comment. Key aspect is to use MassEffect2 profile.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeletePlayed this with the default profile, dynamic shadows off. Works ok in the beginning, but as soon as you get outdoors the broken shaders mess things up too much, not really playable anymore.
ReplyDeleteActually you can also change the sun shader and water shader to min and it fixes the sun shadows and bad reflections.
DeleteBut nevertheless, wait a bit and we'll have an updated fix as masterotaku is currently fixing it.
