What this mod does:
- Fixes shadows & lights
- Fixes various HUD / UI elements with too much depth & places them at a more comfortable, fixed depth
- Adds a convergence preset on the 'Q' key (if needed)
- Adds a toggle on the 'Z' key. Press this to make the HUD & UI screen depth.
Installation:
- Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the game's directory.
- Use Nvidia Inspector to assign the game's EXE file to the "3D-Hub Player" profile.
Hi man! Is it possible to have a fix for "The Secret World"? The game is rated GOOD but has several issues: The game definetely needs better 3D Vision support. Minor issues to be fixed btw. THE FOLLOWINGS: Effects with depth, 3D nametags and cursor, less flickering when sidescrolling. It's an nVidia branded game so get to it.
I don't own "The Secret World". But I'm thinking of buying it next time it goes on sale. I'm not sure what you mean by "effects with depth". Can you post a 3D screenshot of the issue?
Anonymous, this is not an official nVidia effort, these are 3d fans. Saying things like "get to it" makes you look like a total wanker. As does barging into the form thread of an unrelated fix and demanding a fix for another game.
Thanks for this! Working great so far with the final cut after I changed the profile to 3D-Hub Player! The icons I click are a little off on convergence but maybe I can adjust it. Even with that issue I love it, thanks!
Hi Mourn. I updated the fix to add a toggle on the 'Z' key (makes the HUD & UI screen depth). If you want to change the value of the HUD & UI depth, 3 files need to be changed: 1) Open the directory "..\This War Of Mine\x64\shaderoverrides\vertexshaders\". 2) Open file 58B770E1.txt 3) Locate the line "def c247, 0.05, 0.0625, 3" 4) Change "0.05" (0 = screen depth). 5) Repeat steps 3 & 4 with files "7762B829.txt" and "9EE13DB4.txt"
Can someone please confirm its working with the latest update? I really loved this in 3d. Already spent about 60 hours into this on survival. There were quite a few updates since then. But it appears to be broken now. Tried installing in different locations. Changed the profile. Tried latest migoto all to no avail. Feels like I haven't fully juiced all there is out of this one since i haven't touched the story yet.
Should I try a different steam package? Don't really think its the latest drivers since dx9 still works on most drivers. Most probably the updates caused this. Will someone please check to see what results they get?
Thanks for having a look 4everAwake. Really great to see you're still active!
The fix itself appears to be working without any problems when it is in Anaglyph. But when I use active 3d it doesnt want to stereorise. I can see the depth and convergence settings have an impact on the mono image. But its only a single image. In Anaglyph im able to play on Virtual Desktop in VR. But was primarily trying to get this working with Helix Vision. Just spend about an hour in anyglyph and it wasn't really that bad.
This is on w10:1909 and drivers 451.48. Not sure where the problem is. Cant see anything to tweak in the ini? Could it be a problem in the nvidia profile?
I currently don't have VR. But I installed the Steam version of this game on Windows 10. For some reason, 3D won't activate if I run the game from my Steam library or if I click on the desktop icon. Also, 3D won't activate using 3D Fix Manager. But if I click on the EXE in the game directory "..\This War of Mine\x64\ ", now 3D activates.
What is the size and date of the DLL you use there? The one I see there by default is 768kb and from 2004/03/02. Is this correct? I've tried it but still the same results. Also to swop between the different DLLs. Only time its stereorising is with Anaglyph. Tried it with 3d projector and 3d monitor. Are there any other profiles in Inspector that you could recommend?
thank you a lot, you make me discover this game.

DeleteThanks a lot 4everAwake !
ReplyDeleteThis game has been on hold for a very looong time, now it's time to play :)
This works great thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteThanks 4everawake - I briefly attempted to look at this myself, but didn't have any luck with it. Happy to see it's fixed!
ReplyDeleteCan't get it to work. Maybe this fix is broken after the game has been updated. Can someone confirm this?
ReplyDeleteHi. I just tried the updated game version & the fix is still working for me.
DeleteI installed the "Final cut" of the game and I finally got the fix working. In my case the fix had to be extracted into the win32 folder.

Tried on 451.48 and 425.
Sorry, I shipped the wrong dll in the previous update. The fix should work now. Let me know if you're still having issues.
