Download

Fix is based on last Helix's fix

Fixed blue horizontal flickering at the center of screen (I don't know if this issues were with old Nvidia drivers)

Changed -0.2 hud depth mode (key Y) to +0.4 (I recommend to use it - it's very pity that helixmod can't override hardware mouse pointer with software one)

Tested on Win7 x64 + 425.31

  4. Flickering is gone but self-shadows don't look right. Is there something I need to do?

    1. Just tested this here, and it seems to be working perfectly still. Win10 1803, Driver 419.67. No flickering, no blue lines. Shadows are correct.

Here are examples of what I see

    2. Hi, if you didn't figure it out how to fix shadows, see my post bellow from today.

  5. The shadows are completely broken.... 425.31 Windows 10 1809.
Not sure what the issue is...

    1. I can't remember... but are the dynamic shadows supposed to be turned OFF?

    2. I only have the ALOT mod (which is supposed to be just texture replacements).
I am going to download the whole game again and try vanilla just to see if ALOT somehow breaks the fix...

    3. so... vanilla installation is the same... shadows broken and a lot of other things are quite broken as well on 425.31 (Win 10 1809).

    4. Going back to 419.x driver doesn't seem to make a difference... hmmm....
All overlays are disable. I can see the ui moving, but the shadows and some halos are broken...
This is on a single GPU.

    5. Not sure. Still working OK here. http://phereo.com/image/5d32b445658b6a795e000025

Maybe that stupid lens flare is what are the 'blue lines'? Dynamic shadows are on.

I used 3DFM to launch, might be setting some flags that you are missing.

    6. Thanks bo3b,

I was launching the game manually. The shadows were all broken for me. I've also seen a lot of halos around the characters and such. It's interesting since I just finished ME2 and it worked perfectly fine, except some DLC where the shadows were broken in some scenes, but perfect the next scene.

I need to do more digging. I wonder if is not somehow related to my 2080Ti being the GPU and the driver behaving differently...

I'll try it on my laptop where the game & fix always worked. Keep you posted!

    7. Digging more into it:
      - It works fine on my Laptop.
      - It doesn't work on my Desktop. However, even with 3D Vision disabled and the fix removed, I get broken rendering.
Something is clearly interfering with the game and the nvidia driver.
      My solution:
      - I made a new user account on my Desktop machine. Using the new user, everything works as intended!

Hopefully, it will be helpful for others as well:)

    8. Hey guys!
See my post bellow if you still have problem with shadows!

  6. I'm going to pass it and fix all shaders in all DLC. But I have not much time for gaming... lol

  7. Looks like this latest fix removed God Rays from the game. Was that expected or a bug?

    1. To be clear loading up the previous fix God rays are present.

    2. This is obvious in the Citadel DLC when standing in your apartment. Base game with no fix, and previous fix had God rays coming in from the outside window. Latest fix has nothing.

I understand if this was intentional to fix other outstanding issues, but I want to make sure it was conscious choice by the fixer and not a bug.

    3. Probably not deliberate, but might be a consequence of trying to fix the lens flare. Might be the same shader that does lens flare.

Experiment with the settings and keys. If I read this right, you can turn flare on/off with ',' and '.'

You can also experiment with the shaders in the ShaderOverrides folder to see. If you move a shaderoverride out, it will restore the effect.

    4. Thanks. In the latest fix the "," and "." no longer turn on/off the flare.

    5. For me it still works...I didn't installed the "Lens Flare Remover" mod because of it.

  8. Hey all!
Sorry if I'm late with some possible help...about the shadow problems:
I can confirm to you, that you still can use dynamic shadows, and with any mod out there, BUT, the ALOT mod add some settings to your "GamerSettings.ini"(in Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\Config) that brake the shadows!!
    --These lines are the problem:
ShadowFilterQualityBias= -- DELETE this line, the default value from "coalesced.bin" works fine!
bEnableBranchingPCFShadows=False -- CHANGE this one from True to False! (or, if you don't use ALOT, you can add it yourself with "False" value...

But remember one thing, every time you install another mod through ALOT, it will add its values again in the ini...so, leave the file as read only(but ingame graphic changes wont save), or make the changes above after using ALOT.

    Hope still helps someone!

    1. I almost forgot, ALOT does the same thing on ME2...in ME1 I don't remember.

    2. Always wanted to play this. @KabutoFH, thanks for the tip re: GamerSettings.ini, that fixed the broken shadows AFTER I installed ALOT, and Improved Static Lighting. I just set as "read only" anyway. I followed the ALOT instrux, and ALOT instrux on game AA and AO settings using NVidia Inspector also.

The only other mod I'm using, of course, is the 360 controller mod.

Anyway, Thank you All, and the "." (period) turns off the blue streak, which comes from the sun, or reflections from the sun. The "," (comma) turns it back on, so that works fine.

      Win7 Pro, 425.31.

      Thank you! :-)
