Ark: Survival Evolved (fix v. 2.0)

 *updated with new fixes: 12/22/2023

"Distance Field Shadowing" sometimes malfunctions when switching graphics quality levels.  Restarting the game may resolve the issue.

3D Vision fix for Ark: Survival Evolved.  Uses 3Dmigoto v 1.3.16 (included) to fix most shaders.

Fixed: most 3D shaders: shadows, water, night sky (stars and moon), sun, lens flares, obelisk lights, electric lights, dust, wyvern flames, freeze effect, healing effect, smoke, spray effect, and many others.

Unfixed: Some illumination effects.

This fix contains some optional shaders included in the ShaderFixes\optional_shaders folder.

Installation:

Unzip the contents of this file into the “ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64” folder.  If you installed in the standard steam location this will be here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64

Start the game and make sure “compatibility mode” is turned off.  This is toggled by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F11.  (In the Nvidia control panel, "Set up stereoscopic 3D", click "Set Keyboard Shortcuts" and check the box "Enable advanced in-game settings."

Under “options”, any settings should work up to and including “epic."

Enjoy!

  2. My Ark from Epic Store doesn't work in 3D even without fix, if I have 3D vision activated the game freezes at start even before arriving to the menu. 445 drivers and windows 1909

    1. The symptom you see there is typically because UE4 games do not function on 445 drivers, unless you are using the Schwing hack. Use 425.31.

I took a look at the free version from Epic, and I don't think the game fix is going to work here however. The game has some sort of hooking that interferes with 3Dmigoto, probably for that battleye stuff. This causes a stack overflow, so I cannot run the game when 3Dmigoto is installed.

  3. Is this safe to use for online play on official servers or will it think I am cheating?

    1. We don't actually know one way or the other.

You might check their policies and see if they give you a one-time pass or warning. That way if you get banned for using 3D, you'll at least know and can continue to play.

Especially using HelixVision or any Schwing hacked driver, they might think it's a driver level hack. But it's going to depend upon their policies and what they are looking for.
