Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning

3DMigoto fix By Mike_ar69

Thanks to the 3DMigoto team: Bo3b, DarkStarSword.

Fixed:

  • Lights
  • Shadows
  • Haloing
  • Software mouse
  • Hud

Notes:

  1. I disabled one light shader, it has clipping for convergence>30%. Effect is that the light pops on when you get close to it a certain distance, and off again as you move away. Mostly not noticeable.
  2. Implemented software mouse.
  3. Presets for Hud on the "y" key.
  4. Presets for convergence on the "u" key.
  5. I tested in SLI and non-SLI.
  6. I think some decals may be wrong (blood) but they are never on screen long enough to really notice, or fix.
  7. I implemented a profile update in the d3dx.ini file, so there should be no issues.
  8. I have not played the game all the way through, so there may be issues.  Happy to accept save games if issues are spotted.
  9. Download the file from here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/Mike_Ar69/KOARR_Mike_ar69.rar
  10. Unzip all files to the directory with the koa.exe in it.

  1. Thank you Mike_ar69 and everyone that made this fix happen!

Unfortunately, I cannot start the game with it, it always crashes immediately on launch.
I get two errors: "CreateTexture2D failed with error code 0x887a0005. The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action." and "Present failed with error code 0x887a0005. The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action."

I am running Windows 10 build 18363.1379. Nvidia driver is 452.06 with RTX 2080. I am able to run the game with no issues if I don't enable stereoscopic 3D.

Any ideas on how I can get it to run?

    1. That crash will happen for any DX11 game on drivers above 425.31. You need to be running the Schwing hack in order to be able to use 452.06. You can use BringBack3DV tool, or 3DFM/HelixVision make a game specific driver hack to make this work. See mtbs3d.com for lots of details.

    2. Thank you bo3b!
I've been lurking in mtbs3d recently, so I will look there more specifically.

  2. Just got this game on a Steam sale. My issues is that the 3DFM is not finding the game. Possibly, the Steam game folder does not include the ":" and it cannot be edited that symbol in.

    1. Not sure exactly what you are looking at. The current 3DFM/HV profile doesn't have a dot.

You can edit that profile with center mouse click and change the path to how your game is setup, pointing to the .exe. If you can't seem to get it, you can always add a fully specified CustomRoot path.

  3. Habe das Spiel editieren müssen, hat aber nichts gebracht. 3d fix wird zwar runtergeladen aber nicht entpackt!
