Silent Hill 2 - Director's Cut [DX11]

geo-11 fix for Silent Hill 2 Director's Cut. Specifically for the Enhanced Edition patch. This also needs dgVoodoo, but installed in a special way.

Fixed
  • 3D rendering in geo-11.
  • Flashlight light circle / lens flare, most of the time.

Installation
  • Install the Enhanced Edition patch. Follow their instructions to do so.
  • Open "SH2EEconfig.exe" and make sure the "Run the game in DirectX 9 (required to use shaders below)" is disabled in the "Display" tab. In the "Advanced" tab, make sure "Load 3rd party d3d8.dll from the plugins folder" is selected. Those two are very important. Close the tool after configuring the rest of settings the way you want.
  • Install dgVoodoo (last tested version: v2.81.3), but place the D3D8.dll that is inside the "MS\x86" dgVoodoo folder into "Silent Hill 2 - Directors Cut\scripts" (create that subfolder if it doesn't exist). This is needed to avoid overwriting the "d3d8.dll" that comes with the Enhanced Edition.
  • Configure dgVoodoo as if it were installed at the "Silent Hill 2 - Directors Cut" folder.

  • Download this file (contains geo-11 build v0.6.164) and extract its contents in the "Silent Hill 2 - Directors Cut" folder, where "sh2pc.exe" is. Remember to edit "d3dxdm.ini" to change your "direct_mode" to the output you need. It's sbs by default. For 3D Vision monitors, use "direct_mode = nvidia_dx9", and probably fullscreen in the Enhanced Edition config tool.
  • Run the game through "SH2EEconfig.exe" or "sh2pc.exe".

Hotkeys
  • F1: convergence presets (200, 400, 800, 1200). 1200 by default.

Recommendations
  • Enable 60fps in the "SH2EEconfig.exe" file.
