BugSnax [VRto3D]

BugSnax was recently updated with a native VR mode that retains gamepad support and it works great with VRto3D!
It can be run on any 3D display, including DX11 3DVision (driver 452.06 and RTX 20xx or older)

Notes:

  • Only playable with a XInput gamepad
  • Game has a dynamic crosshair
  • 3DVision setups require a 2nd display to run VRto3D (can be a single monitor connected twice or a dummy plug). For this game, you don't need to toggle 3D on/off to avoid crashing
  • You can toggle to a higher 3D separation using XInput Guide button or Numpad 2
  • VRto3D profile is required to be able to aim up/down

Instructions:

  • Get VRto3D setup for your 3D display here
  • Install BugSnax in Steam (other versions untested)
  • Download and extract the latest VRto3D profiles to your "Documents\My Games\vrto3d\" folder
  • Launch the game and select "Launch Bugsnax in Steam VR Mode" and "Always use this option"
  • For single-display setups, enable VRto3D foregrounding with "Ctrl + F8" and "Alt + Tab" to the 2D game window for controls
  • For multi-display setups, move the BugSnax Game window to your 2nd display using "Shift + Windows + Left/Right", ensure that the 3D Headset Window is fullscreen by clicking on it and then click on the 2D game window for controls
  • In-Game, use the Gamepad Right stick to look down and open the "Settings" menu
  • Open "Game/VR" Settings
  • Set "Snap Turning" to "Disabled"
  • Set "Walk Forward" to "Controller"
  • Set "Additional Height" to "0"
  • WARNING: if you open the "Display" menu, the game will exit
  • Adjust other settings as desired
