Fable 3

RATING: Great
Removed: 2D Reflections(INI),Motion Blur(INI), Depth of field
Issues remaining: In snowy climates snow swirl is 2d effect, Menu Screen.

HOW TO FIX WATER
Start Game up till you gain control of character... ALT TAB.(No joke)

INI TWEAKS(reflections/motion blur)
Go to .. Fable 3/VideoOptionsConfig.xml
Change the following
 <RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>99</RadialBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>
<MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>99</MotionBlurMinimumEffectsDetail>
<ReflectionTextureResolution>0,0,0,0,0</ReflectionTextureResolution>

This is more of ini tweaks then actual fix since I ran into a lot of odd trouble anywho... Game looks good in 3D and I knew of a few ini tweaks. People bash this game more then they should. Fable 1 is still way better but I dont regret playing through this game once however..... being evil makes no sense story wise(DONT DO IT).

Install to.. Fable 3/
SHADEROVERRIDE

PS am I the only one that finds it odd that there is unused 3d vision code in the game?

  3. Is that possible to play this game in 3D with the meta quest 3?
Vorpx don't have 3D working, UEVR don't find the game and i tried SuperDepth 3D and virtual desktop but the graphics are looking 720p.
Even fable anniversary is far better in term of graphics.
I saw you tube video where there was multiple effects in the DEPTH 3D folder of Reshade but I only have SuperDepth 3D available.
I don't have SuperDepth 3DVR + .fx or Depth Tool .fx.
    Is it normal?
Maybe it's why it's not working fine?

    1. Maybe possible. Looks like this is an older DX9 fix, and that means that the NVidia DX9 3D Vision path can possibly still work. If you have an NVidia GPU you can install the 3D driver with 3DFM, even on latest drivers that you need for Quest. That might not be helpful if you don't have any sort of 3D output device that it can use though. You could use the Anaglyph output mode from 3D Vision, and then use VirtualDesktop to convert that to in-VR stereo. You lose some color, but it works.

SuperDepth3D is probably a good choice, most compatible, easiest to set up. Since you got it running but it seems low-res, look carefully at the different resolution settings to see why. There is no fundamental reason why it would look bad with SuperDepth3D. Make sure the game isn't defaulting to something terrible like 800x600, and double check your SteamVR SuperSampling to be sure it's not set low.

(It's not a UnrealEngine game, so UEVR cannot work. )

    2. I tried to use 3DFM but the game is not even on the list.
      I tried again with virtual desktop and superdepth 3D but i can't set a higher resolution than 1440 x 900 in 4:3 and 2560 x1440 in 16:9.
In 2560 x1440 it start to be acceptable graphic but it's still not as good as fable anniversary in term of aliasing and as i run at only 50% of my RTX 4080 Super, if i can ramp up my resolution, it will maybe be able to run it at a resolution like 2560 x 2160 which is the resolution i use in Vorpx for Fable anniversary and it gives me decent graphics.
But i don't know i can't use the customl resolution i created for my screen in this game.
But even if i manage to get the high res working, i think the 3D will not be as good as the geometry 3D of fable anniversary.
The irony in all of that is that this game was announced to be ready for 3D at his launch, but it never worked until ytou guys manage to make a fix. So i'm not confident about having this game working in good 3D (like in half like Alyx) and it's sad because this game is one of the most nostalic inducer game i have and i really dreamed about playing it in 3D. ^^

    3. SuperDepth3D is completely unrelated to this fix, so you would use one or the other, but not both at once.
For resolution using Reshade+SuperDepth3D, you might need other mods to force higher resolutions if the game does not allow you to set them in its settings. Check in with any of the AIs if you want some suggestions for that sort of thing. There also might be command line settings for Fable3 that will allow you set something specific.

Not sure why this fix is not part of 3DFM, but you can add if you want by creating a new profile in lower left. Based on what you've said for output device, there is only a half-baked DX9 variant for output to VR that can possibly work, but will require some fiddling and experimentation. Look for the latest 3DFM that includes the Katanga VR app if you want to experiment. The reason this might be worth trying is that this fix is geometry 3D, not z-3D like SuperDepth3D, which typically gives better 3D. SuperDepth3D is a lot easier to get working and uses less resources.

(I don't have this game, so cannot try directly, and am just giving general advice that might work.)

    4. Also check: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fable_III

There is a configuration file you can manually edit to set a specific resolution.
